Leo G. Barnaby III
Company founder in Spotswood, race car driver, 40 Leo G. Barnaby III passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008. He was 40. Born in Perth Amboy, Mr. Barnaby lived in Holmdel prior to moving to Avenel. His family came first and he loved being a father. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. He was loved by all. The founder of Neverlift Racecraft in Spotswood, he merged with Carrolls Racecraft, also of Spotswood. Leo was proud to be a master fabricator and race car driver. He was an avid drag racer at Raceway Park, Englishtown, where he won many championships. The racing community has lost one of the best 10.5 racers on the east coast. Surviving are his wife, Lisa Maltais; his daughter, Jenna, and his other children, Cherise, Michael, Samantha and Mark Anthony; his parents, Leo G. Jr. and Judith Barnaby of Holmdel; his brother, Ken Barnaby of Jackson; his grandmother, Marian Gendlek of Old Bridge; an uncle, John Gendlek and his wife, Cathy, of Cliffwood Beach; an uncle, Donald Gendlek and his wife, Christine, of Washington State; his father and mother-in-law, Guy and Augy Maltais; his brother-in-law, Guy Maltais and his wife, Elizabeth, of Monroe; his sister-in-law, Meranda Miranda and her husband, Alberto, of Edison; a niece, Morgan, and nephews, Joseph, Guy and Cory. Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Rd., Holmdel, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Holmdel, on Thursday at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the family for the future education of his daughter, Jenna, would be greatly appreciated.
