Buying gas before the price jump and before the shortage because of a hurricane is preparing. Believe me , I know. I'm a hurricane preparedness specialist. We didn't start the demand, or order up a hurricane. Standard proceedure for hurricane preparedness is, get plenty of fuel for your vehicles and generators to last several days to a week. Water, batteries, canned foods. This hurricane stuff should only last a few weeks but I'd rather have a stockpile than a shortage. Being in the military you sit on one of the biggest stockpiles in the world red_johnny.
I understand that BUT you DO start things off. IF everyone who prepairs like yourself get the gas at LEAST 1 week out this would not happen. I have no problem with being prepaired. I think its an excellent idea but why not ALLWAYS have a kit ready? Why wait till disaster is at your front door. Gas here is still at 4.99 at most places and on post its 4.29. Just about everyone is out of gas and WE are no where near any troubled area! WTF? If you look at the gas tempature map you can see that GA people are freaking NUTS!! I HATE this state and its backwards ways.
