I had spoken to Car Creations and the lady asked for me to email her my questions.

But if some one can just let me know what the distance is between the top of the tire to the fender lip, on a C1 corvette.

I have seen some wide meats, but with the 59, I have seen some mini-tubs and flares done to the rear fenders.

Essentially, slice the fender off at the peak and widen the entire thing a few inches. When done right it looks awesome.

Are you modifying the existing C1 chassis, or are you using an aftermarket chassis or making your own?

One of the problems with the OEM chassis is that the rails get in the way. The aftermarkets narrow the rails a bit, IIRC. Paul Newman and SRIII Motorsports both make chassis. I rather like the look of the SRIII setup.

Welcome aboard.

Pics would really help.

I don't recommend using filler even the filler with fiberglass in it.

And with the body off, there's a bunch of other places to check, mainly all the bonding strips.

Bodies this old are always in need. The glass gets old and will suck up a lot of resin.

The only way to do a repair is with resin and mat using the proper techniques. I can outline them if you want.

Dont feel bad...motor in my 67 has to be 5 yrs old and never fired,making 80% less lol.

Pulleys are going on now, maybe a month or less before its finally fired up. Think its outdated by now but I dont care.

Tony, I'm starting to regret not testing a RPM Air Gap, or an Airstrike, too, because those intakes would have fit my Chevelle and truck. It would have probably taken less than 30 mins to swap one out on the dyno... if I would have known how easy it was to work on the dyno, I would have tried to make it happen.

BTW, just razzin you about the fish's hole... it comes from a Chinese proverb.

Anyway, it was just one of the many things I picked it up travelling 4K miles, trapped in a mini-van full of Chinese-Indonesians, and I was dying to use it...

JSUP, I sold the tan 72 C20 a while back, after I bought the Green 72 C10. Both trucks were one owner prior to my getting them. My co-worker's father was the original owner of the green truck. Prior to selling the tan ione, which was a damn good truck), I pulled my engine, headers, and exhaust (3.00" with X ipe and large case Magnaflows).

I sold the truck to a guy that probably had no business buying it. After listening to his floundering and tales of woe, I felt sorry for the dumb-azz. I ended up pulling an engine and trans out of another truck and installing them for him. Work I never intended doing or wanted to do, but I suspect in all honesty, it kept the truck out of a junk yard or from being parted out.

Here is a pic of the current trucks engine. It was rebuilt years ago by one of the former owner's son, has large chamber 71 - 72 LT-1 heads, unk cam (I hope it's an after market cam, because the truck only idles with 15 1/2 - 16" vacuum). I've undone years of neglect and a few bubba repairs, which are expected on a car that's been out of service for years. Now it's pretty squared-away, and a damn good truck, and doesn't need much. It could be driven daily, even in L.A. traffic. Unfortunately, I keep thinking I want a 72 short bed or 1965 El Camino... It never ends.
