I have one for my '88 and it has been great when I needed it and could find the info I needed.

I found as much use out of the C4 parts manual I have on CD that someone sent me.

400Hp would be fine for me too. I just want to cruise and enjoy it and not worry about what heads to put on it

Stock motor is already apart...getting ready to go to the machine shop. I am going to do a total rebuild regardless, just not sure if I want to shoot for more than I really need. I would be happy for 400-450HP if I can pull it.

I guess my point is, I don't need the do an exotic stroker, with fully forged internals, $2500 set of heads..and so on....

and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

That's what I am thinking when it comes to building a performance motor for my '76.

Ever since a kid, I have dreamed of having a fast machine and I always wanted to have that machine that everyone was talking about. I guess those childhood dreams were not far off most young boys growing up.

So, here's my dilemma: Why should I build a motor with more than say 450HP? I DON'T support street racing(although guilty of such). SO I won't be going out every weekend looking for victims.

The closest track is an 1/8 mile facility which I don't care to even try since it is not a 1/4 mile. The next closest is in Indianapolis and I am not sure I want to drive 2 hours each way just to see how fast it is.

So I think I have a case for nothing more than eye and ear candy. If I was on the street I know people will think it looks cool, and if pulling into a show people will flock to see what is under the hood due to it's sound.

In other words "All show and no go".

So in other words, I have no need to spends thousands of dollars to go fast when I would never use it or need it unless I am out-running a nuclear attack.

Why do you think car builders put massive motors in cars they will never use to it's full potential? I have seen street rods with 600HP motors but they do nothing but drive it from one show to another.

Is it all just for bragging rights?

Well, I was gonna say that I love my Blackberry Curve, but the mouse ball just broke 5 minutes ago and now I can't find a way to scroll. You would think they would have aback-up function in case something like this happens.

As far as service, I don't use PTT either, but I use AT&T(old cingular and Bellsouth). We have used them for 12+ years. Seem to be getting better.

No...Angelina drove it and used it as a "ramp" for another car to jump......they didn't show any damage on it that I remember. It was very cool and they had some really cool shots of it and it sounded great.

Check out "Wanted" starring Angelina Jolie. Its a pretty cool movie...and for about 4 minutes of the movie there is a C4 used in one of the scenes. It appears to be a 84-86 due to the paint and the uber-cool turbine wheels.

I don't ever take a car to a shop unless its something I KNOW I can't do. I would rather research, talk about and research some more than pay someone 10 times the amount it would cost me to do it. Plus, you learn in the process. I built my own 700R4 tranny for that very reason. The only thing I probably will not do is paint, but have considered it.

BTW Wes, I think that was very cool of you too!

AS cool and powerful as it is....I would rather take the $295K and build 5 of them that are close and have about half the power.....really...who in the hell would need 1800HP?

I dunno though, even though the rear vision sucks not having a rear view on the passenger door, I kinda like mine better that way. Dunno why....

We got hit with the 100mph winds here in Indiana over the summer. We lost power for 5 days. We told ourselves that we would go out and buy a generator right after that and we never did.

Luckily we would still have heat if our power went out due to a gas fireplace...but it does suck without lights and a fridge.

Just goes to show that you never know when fate will call you number. Live life to the fullest each and everyday and say goodbye to your family every time you leave the house.

Sad at anytime, but even more sad around this time of year.

MY job involves me flying in a Helicopter or KA200 twin engine airplane. There is a never a time that I think it could be my last. Unfortunately, the one on the ground were the ones killed. So sad to hear.

Question #4:

Ok... 1955 was the first year of the small block in the Vette. Great year... except I don't fit worth a damn.

However, from the outside, what is the distinctive visual cue

The V in the side emblem

1 week before playoffs.....2 contenders clinched playoffs: JrRifleCoach and C4moneypit.

4 teams are fighting for the last two spots...Brut(8-5-0), Centralcoaster(8-5-0), Patsfan(7-6-0) and Ruby(7-6-0).

Interesting, if Brut and CC both lose, then it would be a 4 way tie decided by points gained over the season which would, as it it stands now, would be Brut and Patsfan. Of course, the points gained this weekend could upset that.

Even more interesting is that CC and Patsfan play each other this weekend and if CC were to lose, it would be down to points in which Patsfan would have to beat CC by over 17 points to clinch the playoff birth. Ruby is playing against the 1-12-0 team of T-bone and I predict him winning so Ruby is for sure still in the hunt.

I give him about a 99% chance of beating T-Bone over the head
with the pigskin and oh, he will win with about 600 points
