Community here had a big deal kickoff for the season. Most of the stores downtown open to sign up for drawings. The bank had their "appreciation soup supper", so we went down town and partook in some of the festivities.

Hey guys, another nice day here. mid 50s for a high. Worked in the shop after unloading lumber for the next project. Decided I'd better finish up one of Rosie's Christmas presents, the wall shelf, first. I'll spray finish tomorrow.

Bought new tires for one of our bicycles....$30/each....bike tires! I remember paying less than that for tires for our Datsun wagon. Put new tires on the new Caddy about 3 weeks after we got it....$1050

Hey guys, Chilly start but recovered quickly, 55 for a high. Took GGD for a stroller walk Then worked in the shop on Rosie's Christmas present. She asked for a special shelf to put on the wall in the living room. I designed and started it today. It's a bit more than just a shelf, and in a craftsman style.

Hey guys, 23, 34 and 27....beginners....17 when I got up this morning. Very glad to have heat in the house. It did, however, make it up into the mid 40s this afternoon.

I was up early to put a turkey on the grill. Ate smoked turkey for supper. You'd think this close after Thanksgiving, turkey would be low on the list, but not for us.

I also used the time to work on a project in the shop and watch GGD for a while, while Rosie walked up to the post office. She is such a joy to have around....talking about GGD here.....Well, Rosie is too.....

Going to be a bit warmer tonight and tomorrow, 20 overnight and low 50s tomorrow.

Hey guys, up early and off to the church hall to prep for breakfast for the people after Mass. Didn't have to prepare any food as we had one of the lady's from church make breakfast burritos, but set up tables, make coffee, set up the rest of the food and drinks. Added this morning was scooping snow off the walks. The nasty weather caused our normal numbers to be down by about half.

It is sunny, but temp was 18 when I went up and the wind was blowing pretty good, so it felt much colder. Up above freezing now, but the wind is still blowing.

#2 GS headed back to Manhattan for his final three weeks of school. We go up in two weeks to his graduation...and YES, he has finals AFTER his graduation....crazy, I know.

Next weekend is when we, our Knights of Columbus council, do our beirock (runzas for our friends from Nebraska) fundraiser. Looking to make somewhere around 200-210 dozen.

Hey guys, As I said yesterday, it is cold here today. Not only that, but the snow is really starting to get with it. I made a quick dash over to the 'city' this morning to pick up a few groceries we needed to get through the week. Wasn't doing much then, weather-wise, but now snowing pretty good.

Rosie is busy putting Christmas up. I brought the tree up from the basement and we got the outside things put up. I put the lights on the house last week when the weather was a bit better.

We have church in a little while and #2 invited us over for supper. GSs # 2 and #3 will both be there and maybe #1 if he can get over here after he gets off work. Depends on how much it snows and how the roads are.

We have the GGD for a week. She's learned to navigate the stairs, so that is her latest "to do" thing. And she is quick!

Hey guys, freaking COLD day here. I was up early putting ribs on the smoker. #3 and family stayed long enough to eat then headed home. Nice gathering, 10 people, three racks of ribs, baked beans, salads and left over desserts.

Another cold day on tap for tomorrow High today was 26 and breezy all day. Same for tomorrow, then supposed to turn seasonal (mid to uppers 40s) for the foreseeable future.

Think it's just about bed time.

Hey guys, Thanksgiving meal is in the books. #2 and #3 families here. No leftover turkey... have to figure out what to feed the masses this evening.

Chilly morning here, 28 when we got up, upper 40s now, headed to the mid 60s they say. Sun is shining brightly.

Rosie is off to pick up GGD and should be home shortly after noon.

#3 and family got here about 11:30pm. Didn't get to bed until after midnight.

#1 and family headed home about 10, so I left to install a handrail for a couples' front porch.

#3 and family left KC about 4:30 to come visit...should be here around 11pm

Hey guys, weather turn around today...cold, damp and windy. Worked in the shop with GS #6 today. Made him a couple of things, one for him and a Christmas present.

Thanksgiving dinner with them tonight as they are leaving for home in the morning.

Ok my first post was written this morning, but didn't get posted... It did make it up to 70 this afternoon. Worked in the shop, but had issues, so I didn't push the fact. Went to church and when we got home, #1 was here. They've all gone out for a walk to stretch their legs after the 6+ hour trip.

Ordered some pizza to eat during the big game (Sunflower showdown... KU vs K-State)

Hey guys... Lazying around this today. A bit more chilly, 27 when we got up but promises to hit upper 60s later.

#1 and part of the family will be headed this way pretty soon. Will be good to have them out here. It's been 4 years since they were here.

Not much else on the agenda, might go out to the shop to clean up a bit. The dining room table I built went out the door last night.

Hey guys, been a couple really pretty days here, but the other foot is about to come down. Been trying to catch up on things since we came home from the funeral. Don't seem to be making any headway on it though.

We will have #1s family here (well most of them) come Saturday until Tuesday, and then #3 will be here Tuesday thru Saturday. The two will probably pass one another on the roads.

Morning guys.... Sad day for us, Rosie is taking GGD to GD-in-law to take her up to Nebraska for a couple weeks, so we won't see her for a while. We will really miss her. I miss her already and she's only been gone 10 minutes.

I'll keep myself busy today and for the next couple weeks. Lots of things to do, projects to work on. I normally quit doing client projects thus time of year, but, I have a couple things I really need to get done before I start on my projects.

Letty, that's a good thing your club does...yes, it does give you that feeling of self worth and of doing the right thing for less fortunate.

Morning guys... GGD was so tired last night she went down early. She woke up at 5am. Rosie stayed up with her. I got back up a little before 7 and fixed breakfast for us. By then GGD was tired and we put her back down, so she is napping now.

My gratitude to those who have served our country and especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. My gratefulness also to the families of those, as they lived the with the anxiety as their loved ones were away.

Hey guys, up and around at a reasonable time this morning. GGD slept until a little after 7. We went to the school for Veterans Day Program and presentation of 4 "Quilts of Valor". I was asked by the lady in charge of the local QofV group to take pictures of the program. Just finished going through those and sent them off to appropriate people.

It's a pretty nice day here, chilly start, but, warmed up good. Upper 50s now headed to mid 60s and light winds.

Hey guys, back from central Kansas. Bittersweet trip. Really nice to see all the family, and even though it was not unexpected or unwarranted, laying FIL to rest was tough. All 17 of his grandchildren were there, for the first time I can ever remember, together. Only about 30 greats were there of the almost 60 he had and the only great great was there, our little one.

It was also good to see extended family members and lots of friends.

Today is recovery day for us, both bodily and mentally.

Tommy, you are absolutely correct about the media. Reporters sensationalize every freaking detail and show their ignorance in the process. I HATE to watch the news. national or local because every time I do I get pissed. Even the weather people push the agenda.....

Gris, I hope you are able to get the clutch fixed without draining your billfold.

Hey guys, up early with GGD, then off to the 'city' to finish up the bathroom.

We are headed to central Kansas tomorrow, as the wake service is at 7pm. We will stop at the funeral home to view before then, and check into our motel rooms. All three girls will be there and some of our grands.

Funeral is 10:30 Wednesday.

Morning guys... Woke up to a phone call from Rosies' sister. Her dad passed this morning. Not unexpected, but never easy news to get. He lived a good life and will be remembered for his loving, caring and giving life. Even though he was 94, the funeral will be huge, I'm thinking, as he touched so many peoples' lives, who are still around. Not sure if we have to go back and help with the arraignments or not. he had most all the details planned out. Funeral will be later this week.

Hey guys, up early and off to the 'city'. Got most of it done, but have to go back Monday to hopefully finish. sheetrock guy was using "hot Mud" (dries in 45 minutes), but still didn't finish it up completely. I got the bench, soap caddy, vanity top, door frame installed and most of the joints caulked, but the doors would have been in the way of the mudder, so I left them off. He's going back tomorrow afternoon to finish.

That IS one ugly sweater! If you don't win call for a recount on the votes...

I guess K-State gave the Longhorns everything they wanted, just couldn't pull off the win.

We have had some nearly perfect days here. upper 60s to low 70s and little to moderate breezes. Supposed to be the same for the next few days.

Hey guys, been busy the last several days. Today we started the bathroom remodel over in the 'city'. Stuff torn out shower base set and sheetrock hung. Tomorrow we will finish the rock and install the shower walls and new vanity top. With a little luck we might finish it up ... the owners are doing the rest themselves..

Hey guys, been busy the last couple of days. Yesterday morning it was a bit chilly, 15 is what the back deck thermo said. It did warm up better than the weather gurus were predicting, mid 40s. Today it was a balmy 18 when we got up, headed to the low 40s they say. Sunny and no wind to speak of. Should be a nice night for the T or Ters. It is supposed to warm back into the 60s and 70s tomorrow and beyond a few days.

Oh our Dr appointment last week was with a Wholistic Dr. She figured out quite a bit from our, very extensive, blood workup. Put us on some supplements, I feel better already.

Staining #1s Christmas/anniversary present today. Will make every effort to spray the finish tomorrow. Thursday we head over to the 'city' to install an Onyx shower unit. Hopefully only a two day job.

Oh, the winter weather watch we were under, never developed. Not even a drop of rain, flake of snow or drizzle of icy stuff.

Hey guys, up early and off to fix breakfast for the masses after Mass (see what I did there?) Unfortunately the masses didn't show up in droves, I think the cold weather kept them away, only about 2/3 of what we normally see.

Cleaned up and home and out to the shop. Haven't turned heat on out there, but it's not bad for working.

Speaking of not turning the heat on, we haven't in the house yet, either. Rosie makes every effort to not have AC or heat on from September 1 to November 1. We had a high of 38 yesterday and only 35 today, so it is cooling down in the house. Went to bed last night it was 62 in the bedroom. Got up this morning, 61, now 60. With the knowledge of how Rosies' thought process goes, I told her I thought we MIGHT need an extra blanket the next couple of nights. Looking forward to Wednesday.....

Wiping out the cookies, fixed the problem for me, Letty.

Cold here today. High in the upper 30s, low tonight in the low 20s...Rosie pulled up the tomato plants, so the end of those for this year.

Morning guys... a COLD front moved through last night. North winds blowing like crazy when it did. Highs in the 50s today and low 30s the three days after...with the chance of some moisture...notice I say MOISTURE, might be rain, sleet or snow.

Slept in this morning. Will work in the shop on a Christmas present for #1.

Decided to go to a 'Password Manager" and after I changed the one here I no longer could login. New PW didn't work, old one would work. Matt has saved the day (thanks to Marcus) by resetting it.

We have doctor appointments this morning to review our bloodwork. Hopefully get some things squared away.

Morning guys.... Missed yesterday. Rosie was feeling stopped up and coughing, so she took a Covid test...POSIIVE...surprise, surprise. That meant I was kept a bit busier with the GGD. Washed the pickup in prep for todays trip north to return GGD to her momma. Grandma (#2) watched GGD for a while late afternoon, so I could go to church. While I was gone she gave GGD a Covid test (she was fussy, runny nose and coughing a little) she is positive as well.

The night went pretty well, she was up for while, but really doesn't seem to be all that sick. (fingers crossed emoji).

Gris, the style is, kind of, Mission, kind of, Shaker. Simple clean lines. I like those simple lines.

Also dog sitting neighbors two dogs while they travel north to Nebraska and east to Wichita to see their kids over the weekend. GGD loves the dogs when we go down there. She wants to play with them. I think she is missing her pup.

Well, need to start getting things together for our two hour trip north.....

Het guys, did finish the tables today, completely finished. Made the trip over to the 'city' to let GS (his day off) to have several hours 'play time' with GGD. Rosie and I did our weekly shopping.

Hey guys, beautiful day here again. Worked in the shop all morning. Working on my donation project for the pheasants group auction and a clients' two blanket chests. This afternoon my stainless steel eye hooks came in so we went down to the storage shed and to install the curtains on the new awning. Still thinking I need to close up the West end (open end) with a curtain.

GGD has been a perfect angel. She absolutely LOVES being with grandpa and cries when I leave without her, that's why I'm posting so late...we had to put her in bed before I could get on the computer.

Chilly start here, but warmed right up. We have GGD for the week. GD-in-law getting moved, so we are watching her until Sunday. She didn't sleep too well last night, so, neither did we.

Made a trip to the 'city' to give GS some of the things GD-in-law took with her... microwave, extra pillows, a vacuum and an old Lazy Boy. He's doing pretty well, or at least is putting on a pretty good show.

I did get a little work in at the shop after we got back.

Hey guys, pretty chilly here today. Went out to the shop to glue a couple of chests together.

Last night I came home from the football game, got chilled...low grade fever. While out in the shop, I started getting a headache. Was supposed to go over after church to babysit GGD, but I told Rosie, I'd better not because of my symptoms. So she had a Covid test and we checked ... Positive... so we had another brand and I took a second one ... POSITIVE. She took one and she's negative. So she's going over to watch GGD. Headache a little better this evening, but lightheaded. Going to lay low for a couple days.

Hey guys, another beautiful day here. I decided that today would be a good day to peddle my Tootsie Rolls for Knights of Columbus. It's an annual event that is nationwide. The funds go to intellectually handicapped citizens. We always donate our funds to the local schools' Special Education classes. I worked on that all morning and sold almost half of the 30 cases we bought to sell.

This afternoon, I worked on the side curtains for the new awning. Got the material cut and stapled to 1 x 4s so I can screw those to the beams. Waiting on some stainless steel eye hooks to be able to mount them to the 6 x 6s.

Later, I started on a cutting parts for a couple of chests. Still waiting on materials for the bathroom remodel for the couple over in the 'city'.

Hey guys, another pretty day here. Over to the shed to try and finish the awning today. First off I grabbed the trim metal left over from the shed covering the fascia. thought I had just enough to finish the awning. Cut and bent it as needed and had JUST enough. Back to install it and found my cordless 1/4" crown stapler had a dead battery...couldn't find my second battery, so had to do something else until the battery finished charging.

So That meant I remade the triangulated braces. Between the cutting of the trim and redoing the braces that took me to after noon. With freshly charged battery in hand, it only took about 2 hours this afternoon to put all the metal fascia trim up. Then I spent about an hour cleaning up and another hour putting tools away back home.

Hey guys, Beautiful day here, low 80s and light breezes. Gave me the opportunity to put the metal roofing on. Bought 10' pieces but needed to cut them off at 9'6",so took half of them at a time, evened them up, clamped them down and cut 7 pieces at once using my 4 1/2" grinder with a cutting wheel on it...worked well. marked and pre-drilled the holes for the screws. I then figured a way out to put the metal up by myself and get it aligned properly...by noon I had the north side on and screwed down.

Not sure about what all is going on with GS GD-in law. Say a prayer if you are so inclined for a favorable outcome... whatever that might be.

Rosie caught me finishing off the ridge cap
