I've been watching these cars since they first came out, never thought I could afford one, this car, i found on ebay,
i actually bought it 7k under book. it only has 13k miles.
came off a lease, i am more than pleased with the buy,
flew up to Chicago last wed, and drove her home. thank goodness it's rained everyday it seems, since.

Sorry i have not been around much the bar and grill has had us jumping, but now things are getting a little easier to control, i will be checking in most everyday now.

The first pic is of the father and son, Team that built the car,

WALDEN & YOUNGER
286 Hereford RD
Gurley,AL 35748
12.8MI from Huntsville

Funny you mentioned the trunk, i commented on the
very same thing and he opened it up for me,
they had put the fuel cell in the trunk.

the build was over two years. the father and son
did most all the work, except the paint.

Bingo. If I wanted trophies, I would go out and spend less time and effort and buy them.

The best things about BG for me this year.

1) Seeing old friends
2) Helping those friends (Frankie & Dwight)
3) Meeting new guys (Although I missed a few)
4) Going for a ride in Will Barrett's LPE TT
5) Going for a ride with Jim Voter in his Quasar Blue car

So...you'd just go out and buy trophies?? How noble.

What's next, Road Course trophies?? Drag Strip??

Most of us that take the time, to go to a few cars shows a year, and rub and clean on our cars, to make them look as clean and presentable as possible.
Don't do it for the trophies, we do it for the
new people we meet, car people, and the chance to see other cars in their best presentable condition , And like a proud papa, show off what we got. If every once in awhile you receive an award for your efforts the more better,
I like cars, all kinds. Some mods i like, some i don't.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I would never diss another's car, to their face or in a group with that person present, it's almost like a personal attack, since the person that owns the car has spent their time and money on the project,
and they made it their own. I think it show's a lack of class and character, but that's just me.
Sometimes, it's what you don't say in a given situation, that is the correct response.
As dad used to say, "You get more with sugar than salt"
Food for thought.

What's funny is, that you were hanging out with the editor and a officer of the zr1registry, along with the treasurer all weekend and didn't know, that there was a car show.

I guess your momma didn't teach you any manners, what you
are supposed to say, is gee, congrats Keith,

or is that just an American response????

If it's a heads up deal, I am out. Even if I had a chance, car isn't legal.
If it is a bracket race, I may do it next year.

It's not bracket racing,(just plain ole fun racing)
In years past we rented the track for the day.
but were having trouble getting peeps to show up because of Mother's day weekend, so we moved it.
Now we are in conflict with the National Buick gathering.
the Buick boys let us pay, 30.00 per car to share the track with them.
It was fun, not as many passes, because of the number of cars, but we have the track for 3 days if someone wishes to race.

I'd really like to see some C4's show next year.
i am contacting some of the local boys around the st lou area, to try and drum up some interest.
My dad always said, you get alot more with sugar than salt.
Corvette's of any model, and neat car's of any make, are what floats my boat. Hope you make it next year!!!

The ZR1's dominated the event.

There was roughly 12 C4's that attending the 1/4 mile racing at Beach Bend, and all were LT-5's!

Not entirely true,
hutch hutchinson, ran his GS LT4, it's beefed up he turns mid 12's.
although, it has been a ZR1 dominated event, that is the only people that show. there is pleanty of C4 stuff at the museum, and I for one would love to have a gaggle of
C4's join the fun next year. there will be a much better turn out, (20th annivesary of the ZR1 plus, some fun stuff added that will not conflict with other tours and such like this year.

Will, runs street tires, and since the car is rare doesn't put a lot of miles on the car.

yet he told me, 1/3 throttle is about all he gives her,
it will break them loose at 100 mph, in 4th gear.

holy mother of pearl...!!

dyno, at the rear wheel, estimate, is 1000 hp.

greetings, from Bowling Green, Ky.

I'm attending our annual, c4, zr-1 gathering.
i got two passes, at beech bend drag strip.
not too thrilled, couldn't find the right combo
for a good launch, had to granny shift and sit at the light
for a week, turned, 13. at 118 mph.
so shoulda been in the 11's.

I won People's choice award at the car show at the museum.

It's winding down, on and off again rain, driving back
in da morning.

The annual, C4 / ZR1 Gathering in Bowling Green, Ky
is thursday through saturday.
A friend drove down in his ZR1 last night and had a bite to eat at our Restaurant, He and I, are doin a caravan down
today, leaving around NOON.

This event is the mecca for Corvette C4 people, Anyone
being owned by one such vehicle, should really try and attend. Drag Racing, Dyno, The Museum, The Corvette Plant.
Road Tours, Bar b Ques, Seminar's. from names you know.

It's a hoot. I know it's probably too late to make plans this year, but seriously, NExT year, put it on your calender, and try and attend. You will be happy you did.

Have a great weekend, and say a prayer for us, that we get some kind of decent weather.

happy motoring,

Keith
