Oh, Not taking the Corvette, GS's father just dropped by and said he was going. I just had the cars switched and the Corvette packed......I tried to get him to say yea or nay last night and he wouldn't give me an answer.

I had a flat on the C5 last year....first flat I'd had in years. But it came at a very inopportune time. I was certainly glad I had the run-flats then...I would have been dead in the water for some time. Although where I had it was in a metro area, it wasn't a fun time.

It's a very eerie feeling to have one of these creep in on you. Back several years we had one move in on us, although ours moved a bit faster. Got dark as midnight (at 11am), street lights came on, couldn't hardly breathe. and when it left that fine silt-like dust covered everything.

Bill, the AS + are what I have (mine are in the ZP, Zero Pressure versions) And they were cheaper than the Goodyear or Kuhmo runflats. My set for the C5 was $1000 out the door.

Good morning guys....It's Friday! Heck during the summer they are all nearly alike to me, so it doesn't really matter. Marcus I am darn sure in the minority on the tire issue, you have to make up your own mind. Don, it's good to hear that Kathie is doing well. Brad, root canals' are so much fun you do them together, how nice.... Family discounts too?

I'm taking my middle GS to his baseball tourney today. This is an "All Star" team from our community. The tourney is about a 2 hour drive away. Plays at 2, if they win they play at 6, if they lose they play again at 8pm. It is proving to be a loooong day. The only bright spot is, I'm thinking of taking him in the Corvette.

Have a great day.

Yea, there's not much out there between those two places. If you wanted to take the space that might work out for you. Don't forget the jack and lug wrench.

Those things probably work fine for you guys in the more populated areas.......not so much for us in the more rural areas of the country. Cell phone coverage might be sketchy and it might be 50-75 miles to the nearest flatbed truck that can pick you up.

I'll suffer the run-flats. (which really is not suffering at all)

Marcus, Ive told you by PM, but I'll post up here too. The Michelin Pilot Sports AS + are quiet, ride very nice, handle well and have saved my a$$. The other thing about using Fix-a-flat is you will ruin the TPS unit (or so I understand), replacements are 50-75 each.

Yup, try pushing the hazard button on and off about 20 times. Seems to clean the contacts on them.

Marcus, if you are buying new...hold on to your teeth, Corsa is not cheap.......Around $1300. A friend of mine swears by GHL's and they are much less expensive.

Good morning guys.....Not much going on today. I go over and pick up my daughters van from being fixed (I'll probably have to pay the repair bill as well). Then I'll come home to work in the shop for a while. Blood mobile is in town, I have an appointment to give this afternoon.

A buddy called yesterday afternoon and needed a sub for a golf league I don't play in, so I played golf last night and really played pretty well, we won the match.

Marcus, I really partial to the Corsa Sport. Nice rumble at idle, no drone at any speed, sounds wicked when you get on it. Found mine used for $550 for the C5. Big difference in the interior of the C5. I'm 6'2" as well and in the 94 I had to have the seat all the way back, with the 01 I am forward by 2-3 inches. And wait until you go to pack for a trip...it's like having a full sized car. Does the 02 have the CD changer? Do you have an Ipod? So many questions so many little mods to do to make it even better....

I have an 8500 X50 which in the last month or so has been giving me false Laser detections. I think I need to send it in and have it calibrated and updated.

Good morning guys.....I have a cousin from California and his wife here. They have been out on a cross country trip since March 31. They are on their way home. We caught up with them at my brothers house on the 4th and I invited them out here yesterday so they came out and spent the night.

I've got to work on their camper (1990 Winnebago Toyota conversion) they've had trouble with the AC. First it needed freon, then it quit, and at my brothers place they found it had thrown the belt. Yesterday coming out they found it would cool for a while then stop, then cool, then stop. I think that the condensation drain is plugged, filling up and causing the coil to freeze up, then when it thaws it cools a while and repeat. He says that when they turn it off "it drips inside the cab, but not on the ground". Anyway, I'm going to look at the drain this morning and see if I can get the drain to work properly.

It's hotter than heck and drier than a popcorn fart. Marcus send some of that moisture down here, please.

Wait....are we going back to Don's thread about gays? Yea, I saw Daisy in the last remake, sorry to say, she's kind of let herself go. Demi Moore has aged well though. I had dreams about Carrie Fisher too...more like nightmares now. Sorry Carrie.....

Hey guys, I made it home. It was a long trip. Left pretty early and stopped by my older brothers palce (a little out of the way going home), my cousin from California was there (we decided that we hadn't seen one another since 1960, I was 5 and he was 7). So we got caught up on stuff and after about 6 hours, we headed on home. Got home just as most people started their fireworks. Pretty neat to be able to see that from three separate communities (remember we live in FLAT Kansas and can see for miles....no trees either).

My cousin is headed towards home (northern Cali) and is going to stop here tomorrow night, so we will get some more time to chat. Long story short, they only travel about 4-4 1/2 hours per day, because of injuries he incurred as a firefighter about 20 years ago. So for us to be where we are works well for them.

Got to hit the hay.....Happy 4th to all.

Morning guys....We did our fireworks last night too. sounds like running/walking is the order of business today. This morning, the wife, daughter and two granddaughters are doing a 5k Run/Walk. I'll be ready to load up and hit the road pretty soon.

We have a long drive today, split by some time at my older brothers' house visiting relatives from California. This ought to be interesting.

Marcus, it's your future (or fortune), that C5 is calling out to you.

Morning guys....Tommy I hope that you can control that monster that you've created....one way or another. Brad how far along did you get on the deck? Don, that sounds like a neat place to watch fireworks. We can see those distances here....across country (can you say flat as a pancake?). Matt that sucks you didn't get in to the 'fest. But maybe you'll be able to do it tomorrow.

We don't have much planned for today. Chill out (figuratively speaking, as it is supposed to be mid 90's ad humid as heck), then later the youngest daughter is hosting a BBQ and then they will do fireworks.

Tomorrow we head home, but, on the way we will stop at my older brothers place, as they are hosting a get together for one of our first cousins that lives in California and is out visiting the country. We have not seen these cousins in 50 years, should be an interesting time.

Have a great one guys....

Olds was very progressive in the late 60's. Those old 442's produced a lot of torque.

Morning guys....I'm revived this morning after a good night's sleep. Yea me too Marcus, that thread is like a car wreck, just can't help looking. Speaking of car wrecks, there was a doosey on the turnpike yesterday just east of Lawrence. About 8 cars, piled up traffic in both directions (it was in the westbound lanes), but westbound, the traffic was at a dead stop and backed up about 8 miles when we went through. Eastbound was slowed dramatically, but at least we kept moving.

It's a beautiful morning here, kind of muggy, but no worse than normal. And it's supposed to be warm today. Have a few things to do for the daughter here, but for the most part, it a relaxing weekend.

Glad to hear that the trip through Kansas didn't bore you to death, that's what I usually hear. It really is a great state and not a flat as people envision. US36 is a very nice road.

Colorado is a great state to take a vacation in, especially in a Corvette. You really have a chance to utilize the Corvettes' handling features. The biggest problem I find driving the Corvette in the mountains is, I tend to drive too fast, thus not being able to partake in the beautiful scenery.

BTW, nice photos.....

Good morning guys....I'm all packed and ready to hit the road to KC. Got the two younger grandsons going with us and there mother and oldest GS coming after she gets off work. The two younger ones have been sitting in the pickup for over a half hour already.....couldn't leave them behind, no way.

Marcus, I'm going to say YES, if you want to travel in the car, if your wife likes going with you (and you want her to ) she will love you for the change, and you'll love it too.

Afternoon guys.....I thought for a while it was me that was having problems. I've been out in the shop working on some cabinets for my daughters' new house. It's hot and looks to be going to stay that way for several days. We had a real nice shower last night, just didn't last long enough. I'll be glad to send somme of this hot crap up north way.

Brad, has it done this since the rebuild or did it start sometime afterward? Seems like you took the Vette on an extended trip last summer....did it happen after that?

Morning guys....Not much going on right now. I had a load of wood and plywood delivered to the shop. Now I just need to get it on the shelves so I can start on a couple of projects.

Matt, I know how those things can snowball. Just pizzes me off when things like that happen.

Don, that really a great thing for the dealership to do. I doubt any dealership out here would even consider something like that. But I would think that it would be a win-win situation for them. And it's cool that some of the mechanics hang around.

Bill, someday you're going to get it all done.....I think.

Brad what exactly is going on with your car?

Ralf, painting is an art, don't let anyone tell you different.

It really nice this morning and supposed to stay that way through the morning. This afternoon the wind switches around to the south and then here comes the heat. Going to be hot the next several days, predicting 108-114. Dry heat or not, that's HOT.

Stay cool guys

Went out and played golf tonight.....well I went out and chased that little sucker around. But man what a beautiful night...almost perfect. One good thing about living on the high plains, when the sun starts to drop, so do the temps.
