Morning guys...I'm up, I think. I'm feeling a bit like Tommy this morning, achy-breaky. Elbow hurts, knees hurt and I have that desk unit to install today, not seeing that as too much fun in my condition. But at least I have a condition, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Weather here is supposed to be seasonably cool and maybe, just maybe, a chance for a shower or two.
Rich glad you came out of the storm with relatively minor damage. Oh, Tommy, I fought the urge to click on Billy Ray, so that song is not running through my head.  Have a great day Marcus....

Morning guys.... Joplin was hit pretty bad, that's a lot of people dead in an area that is used to bad weather. It must have come up fast.
I still have a few days at school (by contract). So I will be at school, but it's not too bad, I'll have time to get some other things done. Have a great day...

Good morning guys....I slept in again today, must be summer vacation. Glad to hear you made the trip OK Chris. Bill, isn't that the price you pay for being the instructor? Don, I remember trying to get info from my 94 and fought it quite a bit.
I don't have much on the agenda today. It's going to be pretty warm (low 90's predicted) and the wind is supposed to blow later. Yesterday I got the base of my daughters table stained and finished. I now need to finish sanding and prepping the top for stain and finish.

Morning guys...I slept in a little this morning, woke at my normal time but actually went back to sleep for an hour. Im going to school to get the table I built and finish up the sanding and start staining and finishing it.
It a beautiful day (at least the start), supposedly a nice day with light winds (I'll believe that when it happens. Marcus and Tommy, get those cars cleaned up and pictures taken. Bill, have a great day at the track (do I really have to say that?....stupid to say on my part) I'll check in later.

Good morning guys....it's a beautiful Friday, already two classes down and gone. I worked the first hour bunch pretty hard, The shop is just about clean. I've cleaned a closet out and now have twice as much room in there.
So sorry about your MIL Rich, I know how my Rosie would be if that happened to her mom (and could at any time as she is in her 80's). Waiting to hear good news Tommy. Don, we want to hear that beast running. The newer the cars get the more 'nannys' they have acquired. Bill, get that car washed and pictures taken for the car show..... Marcus, from the sounds of things, you guys should have a beach right out your front door. We got about 10 inches of rain last night.....one drop here and 10 inches away another drop. Still drier than a pop corn fart.

Good morning guys...It's another day (next to the last with kids) at school, kids don't want to do anything (surprise, surprise)so it makes the hour go by slowly when I'm riding their arse. The shop is getting closer to being ready for summer.
Tommy, I hope the wife and your sister make quick turn arounds. Dampish again today here, it actually sprinkled on me on my way to school this morning. Bill, you need that quality time at the casino, so you can fulfill your promise! Marcus, looks like today might be a good day to clean the Vette up and ready it for those pictures. Got to go check on the rowdy kids....

Well, if we're offering, we can all meet in SW Kansas....it's hot, it's dry, it's flat, we have lots of feed yards, long straight roads and I can keep the beer cool. But it is centrally located. Probably not....
But anyone going through here is more than welcome to stop for a visit.

Good afternoon guys....Bill, she looks like a "pro" to me. I never expect to win anything, which my dream is usually self-fulfilling
It's been a busy morning, trying to get the shop cleaned up, tools put away, projects finished, students checked out. I have about a half dozen projects to do in the next two weeks and get done. A little cooler here today, dampish, but no rain. I may have to resort to using some "old" pictures for the car show. Not sure when I will get the Corvette out again to take some new ones. Weather here just isn't cooperating.

Morning guys.....it's been fairly quiet today. I gave the last of my final tests first hour, so it was real quiet then. 2nd hour they kids were pretty lethargic, so I graded the tests.
I've never been much on pets, had a dog when I was a kid, nearly killed me when she died. When we first got married we had a cocker spaniel, I got to the point where I felt sorry for him, because I had no time to play with him, so we gave him away to a family with kids and a fenced yard. That was the last we had. So as my girls got out on their own they each had to try having pets. they all figured the same thing out that I did, no time to play with them and give them quality time. I am sorry for your loss Tommy, and the ailments of your bird Bill. Starting on the table for my daughter today, better get to it.

Bill I missed that trim piece, I'm impressed. That piece looks really good and I know what you mean about the long pieces and cutting them on a table saw.
As far as the shoes go, Neat to look at, but I don't think I could walk in anything like that...my wife doesn't even try...

BTW, weather here is nearly perfect going to be upper 60's to lower 70's and a light breeze 10-15mph. Men's golf tonight should be a good evening.
Letty, it's probably a postage stamp size piece of paper....we're easy to figure out.

morning guys....It's not quite a zoo here today, but close. End of the year is the pits. I really need to go out and get some new pictures of the Corvette before Memorial day.
Matt, I know what you mean, they tend to overreact on most things kid related....I'm glad my wife is an RN, she at least has a realistic view, but if she gets concerned, then I know it's bad. Our daughters still call and ask mom questions.

Afternoon guys...sounds as though everyone is up and 'running' today. I got up early and sprayed a coat of finish on the table top, then the wife and I headed for the "city" to get groceries before the after church group hit. Just got back from that and we are going for a bike ride. It's cool today (mid 50's) and is going to be cool tomorrow as well.
One more coat of finish on the top and I'll be done with that job. Catch you all later.

I know the 67's were/are supposed to be the cats meow, but I, for whatever reason prefer the 66.
My dream Corvette is the 66 Marina blue roadster with white interior, white soft top and matching hardtop, 427/390, four speed, PS, PB, PW, AC. About a month after selling my 64 coupe, I ran across a 66 BB roadster very similar to the one I described for $4000...probably would have bought it, if I'd seen the ad a couple hours earlier, but I was too late.

Morning guys...I went to bed late and got up early. I have a ton of things to do and I guess my mind wouldn't let me rest. I worked on 4 different computers last night and installed a new router, the old one was starting to kick me off line and I had to reboot it about once a week. Still working on one, but I'm making headway.
I've had those eerie feelings and had strange things happen too....who you gonna call? (Ghost Busters). Don, you are right. I was talking to some of the teachers and we all agree, this school year went by so fast. Graduation today. Going to be in the low 60's today and tomorrow, 34* right now which is very cold for us this time of the year. Quite a change from just a few days ago when we had record highs. Just wish we could get a little more rain. Well, I better hit the shop, got a few things to do before graduation this afternoon.

Good morning guys....even though I don't have many seniors, it's quiet around here this morning...who knows why. Jeff, look at it this way, Things can only look up from there.
It never got above 60 yesterday, yea felt like fall, Brad. Today is supposed to be a little warmer, but doesn't feel like it just yet. One week left with the remaining students and then another year in the books. I'll go another year, getting two pay checks a month isn't too bad. Trying to put most of one away, living off the other one. But with one daughter and three boys living with us and another in the process of separating from her husband, moving to a new house and needing furniture and help moving and what not, I just don't know how far I;m getting. Like Tommy, if I really retire, I'm afraid that I'll be more busy. I hope everyone here has a great day.

Oh, I finished the chairs today after school. They look really good. No new pictures though, they look pretty much like the ones last night only a bit shinier.

Don, sorry to hear that Kathie is not doing well. It's going to be a long 6 1/2 weeks, but the results will be worth it. Tommy, I hope your wife finally gets everything worked out, that many surgeries is almost unbelievable. Bill that tile does look nice. It will be a great day when it is all finished. Marcus, my Polara had the High performance 383/4bbl/torqueflite Dana 60 rear end with 3.70 posi gears (or something in there close, IDR exactly) That teal color was popular that year. A neighbor of the wifes parents had a 64 Sport Fury in that color, I tried to buy that one from them, 383 4 speed.

Good morning guys...you have me laughing already. Tommy, I can sympathize with you. The last two nights coming in from the shop, after standing there on the concrete for two to three hours, my knees don't want to work right, all three of them....you know, the left knee, the right knee and the wee knee.....
The last day for seniors today, dang I only have 2 all day. Graduation is Saturday, supposed to be nice weather, in low 70's. Today they are not even forecasting 60's. Bill and Matt, I have no envy at all for either of you guys, two of my least favorite things to do, but Bill is right concrete is worse (plumbing is worse yet). Have a great day gurus.

I finished "staining" the chairs. After staining them I took sandpaper to them to distress them a bit and then stained them again with the stain I used on the seats, so they tied together. I'm pleased with the results and the daughter is ecstatic.

That's pretty much my opinion, mine wasn't a great collectible car...NOM & flares. Changing the interior was no real decision. Like Marcus said, they weren't classics then, just a 7-10 year old used car. But like Bill says, it would be crazy to mod a numbers matching car...even I know that.
Marcus, you are right about being where we are today...sometimes sacrifices had to be made and like you, I just didn't have the money to keep it.

I figured it was, the wheels were exactly the same. Why did we sell them? Marcus is right, they weren't anything really that special back then. I paid $1700 bucks for the '64 back then, put that interior in ($325) it drove it for three years and sold it for $3200.
The biggest reason for selling was it wasn't practical. It was my DD. When I got married we bought a Dodge Colt for the wife to drive. I was working in the oil fields back then and the Corvette didn't really fit too well with the dirt and crap. But I still drove it. then when we found out about first kid coming along, it became more impractical. About two months after Heather was born I sold it and bought a pickup, which way more practical all around. I just could not afford to keep the Corvette at the time. Believe me there are LOTS of times that I wish I had not sold it. The interior and the flares were very stylish in the day. I've shown these pictures on other Corvette sites and caught hell for "ruining" that classic. Marcus, it was the style back then to have the flared wheelwells. Mine were tastefully done (before I bought it). It allowed me to have G60 x 15 tires on the back and F60 x 15 in the front without rubbing. I lowered it sometime after those pictures were taken and it really looked mean. A mid-year was always what I thought I wanted when I got back into Corvettes, but they are just out of reach for someone on a teachers salary.

Morning guys.....Matt, Marcus and the rest of you. Those chairs are some my daughter ordered and they came unassembled/unfinished. I just had to assemble the parts. For kit chairs, I'm pleasantly surprised of the quality. Of course I glued them all together, even though the instructions say you don't have to. The table I am going build basically from scratch. Bought the legs done but will build the rest. With the daughter moving into her own house and she left most of the furniture that I built for her and her soon-to-be ex, I will be busy building stuff for her for the next year or so.
Well, on different note, the weathermen said for the last three days.....Zero chance for rain in our area, so guess what I woke to this morning? Yup, rain blowing into the house. I'm not complaining though we'll take it all day if it will do it (probably won't). Highs in the upper 70's today and most of the rest of the week. Brad, I belong to a club like that. We call it a non-club club. No dues, no meetings, no officers, no pressure, just a bunch of people who have a common interest. We have our own website, and forum/email list. Biggest problem is it is based out of Colorado Springs and I don't get to participate as much as I would like. They have monthly "drive and dine" outings, they sponsor a car show and do many other things. We try to make at least one D&D each year. If money is needed they just pass the hat. We have a couple big sponsors, one pays for the website expenses another covers some other costs. It's a great way club to belong. Bill, are you really going to get this project done?
