Hey guys, it's been one busy day. The internet was down at school since 9:00am. So I had a hard time trying to do attendance or even put grades in (all internet based grade book). Then my grandson had his first b-ball game this evening. So as soon as school was out the wife and I left for the hour and fifteen minute drive down. They did win 52-39 and he had 18 points and 16 rebounds....but probably about 8 turnovers. We got home and I've been trying to catch up on emails, phone calls and other crap. I'm tired and hitting the hay. Oh and the internet is not back up yet at school... I just tried to access my email and the server is down.

Morning guys...it's been a busy morning....not sure what I've gotten done but the morning is half gone and I haven't been able to get anything done.

At least the kids have been working diligently without having to call for me for help.

Don, glad that you got the tranny up to Pete, he'll get you going. What's the word on the engine? Mercury in Uranus.....doesn't that burn some? Hanoi Jane needs to ...oh never mind, she's not worth the words. Just consider the source of her nomination. Weather here is supposed to be in the 50's slightly overcast and no breeze, it got pretty cold last night. We still haven't turned on the heater, it got down to about 65 in our bedroom, so we can last it out for a little while yet.

I'll try to check in later.

Good Morning guys...I slept in again today. Matt, we haven't had a "date night" in some time, we ought to do that. About the closest thing to a date night is when the wife and I go buy groceries after church on Saturday evening....we really need to get out and do that. Not much into the hard stuff either, as a matter of fact, I haven't had a beer in probably two months.

I did get the chairs repaired yesterday, the one required building a complete new back piece of a lyre back Duncan Phyfe style. It turned out very well and people will be hard pressed to figure out which of the pieces are new. Got the cabinets that I modified delivered as well, they were very happy with the results. I picked up another little job yesterday too. So I will remain busy. Going to pickup some materials to start that one. I think I'm going to buy an impact driver and save my cordless drills from driving screws into concrete...I've burned two up doing that.

I'll check in later.

Well, I went out to check on a job I have to do and when I came back my computer is infected with "Think Point" rogue antispyware sh!t. My son in law did the number on it for me. I went into a tirade. The SOB even comes up and takes control even in Safe Mode.....went down to my other computer and did a search and figured out how to rid myself of this POS. Makes me so f*cking mad I can hardly see straight. Screws up the machine and then just leaves.....I'm passwording the computer and only telling the wife what it is. Already did the one in the basement.... I set up computers for the grandsons...I told everyone, use those if you f*ck those up tough sh!t, I'll fix them when I have time stay the h3ll off of my machines.

RANT OFF

Don, I worked on a dam* computer until 1am this morning....never had one give me so much grief. I slept in a bit to make up for the late night.

Today I have several things to do, so I better get to them. I'll check in later.

Neapco is a foreign made...I want to say China or Korea...but not 100% positive. I can't say at all on the Bruteforce. I stuck with Spicer.

I did them on the 94. I used Spicer 1350 series...make sure they are the anti-galvanic type. I also bought the new straps and bolts, not sure why, as when I swapped them out, the ones I took off looked as good as the ones I put on. It's not a huge project, I just followed the FSM instructions. I swapped the drive shaft ones at the same time.

I thought it better to have a "t*ts for toys"....I've already seen HCF! I'm glad it's Friday. I've had sinus headaches the past three days and ready to sleep in tomorrow. I modified a couple of cabinets for some folks this week and finished up a couple of computers.....one new build, install OS and all other software, and one replace HDD and reload everything. Need to get all that delivered and out of my hair. Not much else going on here.....kids are showing up for first hour, I'll try to get in later.

Good morning guys...I seemed to have missed yesterday. I had a post started, then sh!t happened and I never got it posted.

A wonderful Veterans Day to all you who served...THANK YOU. The story brought a tear to my eye as well. Bill I have seen parts of the documentary it is really good. My dad would never talk about his service, not until he started going to his bomber group reunions, then he started opening up a little. Don, that's a great thing that you have done.

Well, I need to get some things done...I'll check in later.

That 58 looked absolutely gorgeous. Under the hood that 348 just gleamed. The interior looked just as good as the rest of the car. Don, I was always found of the 60's as well. As a kid in high school one of my buddies had a white 60 with red interior, but his was a 2 door hardtop. We spent a lot of time working on that car and cruising around in it. Andrew, that Edsel was the first car that caught my eye when I walked in, I'm sure there's not another like it.

That Buick was one of the Turbo charged coupes, they are a pretty hot running car.

Ron, he sounds like a bright one......I'd like to have a laser wood engraver, those are pretty cool. Speaking of cool stuff, I just unpacked, this morning, our new 44" color Designjet printer. It's all set up and ready for use. It is a monster....69" long and about 30" wide, but it is so quiet, you hardly hear it run.

Ron, I wish we could find a place like yours that will sell sheets of 3/4 oak for $6/sheet. It's a really nice day here, 70 right now and light breezes, really dry though, we could use some rain.

You guys can't complain about smells...if you live in Western Kansas, we have cattle feed yards, and pig farms all over....they have their own peculiar odor.....they stink. But after living here for 30 years, I don't notice it at all...unless I have been gone for a while and then come back home, then I notice it for about 2 hours, then my sniffer just ignores it.

Afternoon Gurus... Been busy again. Definitely the motors made in China suck. David, sorry to hear that things aren't working out for you in MO. I guess we all make mistakes, it's a learning experience.

Weather here is perfect....74* and light breeze. I'm headed home after school to wash the pickup after the trip to KC. It made around 19 mpg coming and going....not bad for a 5000# vehicle (with luggage and people). I held the speed to limit +5 mph (70 and 75). The wind was really blowing against us yesterday coming home.

Car is a 91 Corvette, 6 speed, basic 383 bottom end, AFR competition port 195's, XFI cam, and an Mseven tune.

Still loving the nitto's. The 1.65 was with 20 PSI in them, a 4-5 second burnout, and a 4000 RPM launch. Dead hook, no bog, and rolled out.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased.

I'd say you should be...those are some pretty good numbers!

Just got home a little bit ago....half hour stop at the in-laws and another 10 minute stop for gas. 6 hours and 45 minutes....not bad considering.

Wow, Bill, 10.3 @ 90 is borderline.....what are you going to do with it 1" drive 1000 ft lb air impact?

Matt, those wrenches aren't too bad, I bought a set like them for my woodshop.

Good morning gurus.....Up and at 'em this morning. Been to church and got the pickup filled with gas. We will be headed west right after lunch. We plan to stop and visit the wifes' folks on the way home so that will take some extra time.

Making those extra large payments sure do make a difference. I did that on my Corvette and paid it off in 13 months compared to 4 years. I'm going to try to do that with my pickup. We only have 3 more years on the house. It will feel good to have that taken care of.

Bill, I'd think that a new 60 gallon one might be the best idea anyway. Matt, I was at HF yesterday, and fought off the urge to buy more tools.

Not stickers....drew them up with my CAD and cut them out of 1/16" mild steel on our CNC plasma cutter and painted them myself.

I've seen many great tool chests made from 3/4" ply. I just bought a Sears box a couple years ago, lots of storage for the space it takes up. I built the big cabinets after I bought the lift. 3/4" Melamine 8' tall 7' wide....weighs a ton.

And off course I had to decorate them.

Good morning guys....the weather here is very nice for November. The jet stream appears to be taking all the weather north, up toward Matt, Ron and Don, while we end up with sunny and mid 60's. This is a busy weekend to be up here in KC. Swim meets from one family and the other family my daughter has to work today, because they acquired another companies raw materials and stock, have taken orders, and now they have to figure out what materials go into the production of the other companies product so they can have the correct materials on hand. Anyway, they must have that info TODAY or else they lose out on a big sale. Looks like we won't be leaving for home very early tomorrow.

Fall colors are just now turning here, it was a beautiful drive up here through the flint hills and into the eastern part of Kansas.

Well, I hope each and every one here has a wonderful Saturday.

I hope everyone has a great Friday.

Good Morning Gurus....it has been a busy here this morning. Because of the P/T conferences we are running a backward schedule this morning. Kids are doing pretty well with it, not too many showing up where they aren't supposed to be. It's going to be a long day here, I still have 10 hours to go, been here for 2 1/2 already.

Heading up to KC tomorrow to see my two girls and their families. Taking the two younger grandsons so they can see their cousins.

Well I've got student showing up, I'd better be the good teacher and check on them.

Hey guys....been a really busy day.....got my new scanner today. Truck backed up to the dock at about 9am, I got it unloaded (weighs about 130#), unpacked and attached to the computer, drivers and software loaded and did my first scan and printed out (24 x 36) and delivered to the supt's office before 11am. Played around with it off and on all day trying to learn the software and how best to scan different media.

Tomorrow, my new printer (44" wide) is supposed to be here. It's like Christmas early. I'll have plenty of time to either set up the new printer or play with the scanner tomorrow, as we have P/T conferences from 1-8pm. In the morning I have only 2 classes...should be an easy day...as long as nobody shows up to talk about their kids.....

Morning guys, I was up early and went in to vote. Hoping for a "change". hehehehe I just hang up on the political phone calls. One thing that really bites my butt, is when NEA (National Education Association, freaking teachers union ) calls to tell me how to vote. I'm a well educated person, who, I feel, am smart enough to look at the issues and make up my own mind. Right now the country appears to be headed for the sh!tter and I like Obamas slogan "It's time for a change", yea, a change for the better not worse.

Sorry, stepping off soap box.........

We got through the testing yesterday. Today back to 'normal', whatever that is.

Done with the morning session. We will dismiss them in a few minutes for lunch and then back at it this afternoon. Glad to hear that you are pleased with your selection of engine builders Don. Hopefully you'll be back up and running before long.

Choker chains don't sound like too much fun to me, but whatever floats your boat.

On the second 50 minute test, that first 50 went by pretty fast.

Administering tests today. I should have lots of time to check in here. I just got them started on their first test (50 minutes). We had a ton of trick or treaters last night, over 350, and we missed an hour while we were at church. It was such a nice night I knew that we'd have a lot.

This week is a short one for us, as we have parent/teacher conferences Thursday afternoon and into the evening until 8pm. But that gives us Friday off and I am headed to KC with the two younger grandsons. My wife will be in meetings in Topeka, so I'll pick her up when we get there and take her with us. I am taking the new pickup, kind of anxious to see what it will do on a long journey.

Well, I'm back from the car show....must be the economy, there weren't as many cars as in the past. Some nice cars, but the numbers weren't there. It was nice to get the Corvette out, drove home with the window open...55*. Well I guess maybe I'll change the oil in the Corvette.

Good morning gurus....Tommy, I agree with Don, maybe this will be the fix your wife has been waiting for. We will pray for her. Don, isn't it amazing how we feel those little places?

Today is a nearly perfect fall day, upper 30's now looking for a high in the lower 60's. Sun is shining and no wind. I am planning on taking the Vette down and getting it out for a drive. Our local poor shelter is hosting a big car show this weekend , so I am planning on driving over to walk through. Other than that, not much else planned. If the wife goes with me, maybe we'll go see a movie afterward.

You guys (and gals) have a great day.

A bunch of cool footage there. Love seeing the old Willys and Anglias. Those were the days of run what ya brung drag racing. I see where in the last vid, they had to get extensive footage of "Jungle Jims" pit crew....hehehehe

Morning gurus...I slept in too. Tommy, the problem is, they just don't know how to play in the wind. We play in 35-40 MPH winds regularly. You can't put the ball in the air like that. Although I've never seen a kickoff do that, I have seen punts that were 10-15 yards behind the punter. Welcome to western Kansas!

Not much on the agenda today, we are having some outstanding weather here. One of the most beautiful falls I can remember. I think we're going to mow the grass one more time and put down the winterizer. I have a couple of chairs to repair, but that's about it.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Heck, we listened to WLS here in Kansas. That and KOMA (Oklahoma City) 890 and 1520 were open channels at night. I was a poor kid too...my dad was a teacher. Funny thing is I didn't know we were poor, just thought mom and dad were cheap. My first car was a 56 Chevy Bel Aire, 2 door post, rust bucket. I gave $95 for that car....which in retrospect was about $50 too much. hahahaha. Worked on it and fixed it up and sold it for $400, so I could buy a 64 Dodge Polara 500 with a 383 magnum and torqueflite, wish I still owned that one. I ended up quite the Mopar fan....but all the rich kids were driving 427 Corvettes, Hemi Road Runners and GTXs, 400 and 455 GTOs, 383 and 440 Barracudas, and 396 and 454 Chevelles, my old Dodge couldn't hold a candle to them.

I led quite a different life. I was always the one that the rest of my classmates could depend upon to drive them home safely. I was very straight. You are right though, many of my friends did just as you describe. But there was a place that anyone could buy what they needed nearly any time. I don't regret my decisions, and I had as much fun as the next guy.

Sure glad it's Friday. I have quite a few things on my mind and didn't sleep too well. I'll try to post later and maybe my mind will be cleared some.

Bill, they were just junk programs that the manufacturers put on there and they do nothing but take up room. The manufacturers put much of it on there for the $$$$ that those companies pay to have them on there.

When I bought my laptop last year right after Christmas, it came with Win7....I too resisted it, for many of the same reasons, anyway mine came right up and told me how to create the recovery disks...which I did after removing the bloatware, 3 DVDs.

Afternoon guys....it was a bad night and has been a busy morning. The computer parts that I ordered came in, in two boxes, the case and all the rest of the parts. The case box 'looked' a bit funny and when I opened it it looked like someone had drop kicked it and then sat on it...on-line chat with the supplier, no problem they gave me an RMA and I send it back. But wanted to get this computer out, so I grab an older case that I had sitting around and clean it up good and install all the parts and I go to fire it up and the brand new power supply doesn't...supply power that is. It's deader than a door nail. Pull out my PS tester and yup, it's dead. I don't have another PS on hand so I'm stuck again. It just wasn't my night with that stupid computer.

Today I have been busy working on some plans for the school remodeling projects. Got middle schoolers coming in have to go.

Morning guys...been busy again this morning. Ron that's a lot to have accomplished for the time so far. We don't have anywhere near that accomplished, but then again I don't have anywhere near as many students as you. ultraman....I remember when my #1's beau asked for permission, we were moving her from Omaha to KC and he wanted to ride with me. I had him squirming for 3 hours. I laid it out very much like you, I really thought he might bail, but it turns out he's a great guy and has been very good for her.

Got finished last night with the scholars bowl at about 7:30. Three hours of questions and some smart-a$$ answers. Had one question that had them nearly rolling in the isles. The question was about Lake Titicaca in South America, just me saying the name had them snickering and laughing. Got to admit it was a little difficult to keep a straight face saying it.

I got computer parts coming in today to build a desktop for a lady and a new HDD for a laptop to replace, and reload, so I have some work to do tonight. I also have a lady here in town that called and said she had two chairs she wanted me to take apart and reglue. So I have a few small jobs to keep me busy. Next week will go by fast....I hope, testing all day on Monday then Thursday...all day and into the night parent/teachers conferences. Friday we have off because of working into the evening for P/T. We are headed for KC Friday.

Good morning gurus...been a busy morning already. We are hosting "Scholars Bowl" meet today and I am one of the "Alex Trebecks". We had a meeting this morning to discuss the questions and the answers.

Then my first hour class took lots of individual attention doing design drawings. At the end of class the superintendent walks in and tells me that the school board, last night, approved my request for a large format scanner (42" color) and new large format printer (44" Designjet). So I've been on the phone with the supplier for a written bid for the equipment and software.

Hey Ron, take care there. We usually get those types of storms in the spring time....not October.

Tommy, you're up and at 'em early.
