furnace would not turn on in the shop.... had been working fine... tech comes out says the motherboard is fried.... parts are obsolete and no longer in stock.... am I having Deja vu here recommends me buying a whole new furnace to replace a very fine working furnace.... I recommended he try ebay and find a mother.....board.... he says he will get back to me....

I told Doc... I don't care if I have to go back and light it wid a match I am not getting a new furnace..... I said it real kinda tuff too..... no really.... I'm pissed....

went a got a haircut at a real barber shop...throw back to the 60's and 70's with lots of calendars and Playboy magazines to read.... I used to tell my Mom just to drop me off so I could look at the pictures when I was a kid.... of course I was more interested in the articles....

another very clear and warm day here in the land that time forgot... rural Nebraska is not much different then it was 40 or 50 years ago... yeah more bells and whistles to keep us entertained but the values stay the same... hard work, faith, and taking care of your neighbors if they need help...because you may need help someday and they will be there for you...

started off with the dentist this AM as for my 6 months check up and cleaning..... all good fangs were reported.

We had a nice day here.... but forgot my haircut was scheduled at the same time as the dentist.... so have decided to grow my hair long and flowing.... like in the biker days....

kinda cloudy and cold.... had a new windshield washer pump put on the 17 Tahoe and some new OEM Delco wiper blades... the blades I get at Wal mart or O'Reilly's never seem to last more then a season..... I like Delco stuff...

course they had to tear off the inside fender wells to get to the pump... I could have done it but don't have the time...

Wazz up homies? did you miss me.... of course you did... took a quick trip to the PNW to see granddaughter on her 2nd b day... we lavished her with gifts of course.... a new Harley kids scooter and a small trampoline that she bounces on a lot.... it has a handle that she can hang on to... first day was nice but then it was drizzly and rainy the other days...

Diesel fuel was at $6 bucks and regular gas was mid $5's... took the whole bunch out to breakfast at a diner that around here would have been 60 bucks and out there was $150 with the tip.... one blueberry pancake was $7 bucks.... Gris would not do well if the prices go to that down at the Egg.

trying to get them to come back to the good life State where things are somewhat normal.... saw some big homeless encampments... nominal housing cost in Seattle is $800 large... never have seen a cop... good to be back in Huskerland.... liberal politics in action.... they need China to visit so they have to clean the place up like in San Fran....

beautiful fall day today with highs in the upper 60's.... no clouds... I am running the sprinklers again because it has been so dry for so long and no rain in sight.... had them shut off and drained but know that you need to go into the winter with soil moisture....

working in the office today writing stuff for use on radio ads and email blasts.... had a Facebook post regionalized here in Huskerland that as of yesterday received 14,000 hits and counting.... dat's kool I said......

Huskerland is pretty much the same as it ever was....a lot less cover for the pheasants and quail since all the old farmsteads and abandoned railroad tracks have been torn out so they can farm fence line to fence line.... I can still go to the sandhills and it is the same as it was.... hard work and hardy folk keep it real out here. Progress is evident in the bigger population centers.... but Mullins and Burwell and Broken Bow and a lot of others look the same except they all have internet and cell phones now.

cloudy and warm today.... may have to go for a ride... never look back Guru's....

sorry to hear it Tee.... I believe I met the gentleman one time at his home.... I can remember well his wall of fame which was covered with photos of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There were many and he was so very proud of them all.... it made me smile and realize that he understood what in the end was the most precious of all.....rest in peace....

Yeah I hear you on the Goodwill thing...we donate some clothes there but a lot of stuff goes out to the local place that knows where the needs are in the area. We like the Salvation army also.... We kept all the heirloom furniture and glassware. She had several Ethan Allen pieces of furniture that the kids wanted.... in fact all the dressers and bedroom sets went to the kids....

very nice here today as more seasonable weather moves in.... clear and no wind with temps getting into the mid 50's....
