I had a few bikes quite a while ago (like 86-89). My first real bike was a Yamaha Maxim 750 (I had a suzuki 50cc scooter as a teen in Chicago). I friend of mine wrecked the Yamaha I replaced it with a Kawasaki 600. Got run into a wall with that one (I was really lucky jumped up off the bike and slid in the grass a few feet, the top of the 6' retaining wall was level and grass). Last was a Ninja 600 that I had to lay down when a old lady in a wagon pulled out in front of me.

Left them alone after that and got into sports cars. I almost bought a Ducati 900 while in Italy, I was waiting for the exchange rate to get better but a month before it hit the sweet spot I found and bought the Vette :D

A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the center of the bed. It was addressed,
"Dad"

With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:

Dear Dad, It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.

I've been finding real passion with Joan and she is so nice-even with all her piercing, tattoos, and her tight Motorcycle clothes. But it's not only the passion dad, she's pregnant and Joan said that we will be very happy. Even though you won't care for her as she is so much older than I, she already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter.

She wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too. Joan taught me that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone and we'll be growing it for us and trading it with her friends for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science! will find a cure for AIDS so Joan can get better; she sure deserves it!

Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

Your loving son, John

PS:
Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at the neighbor's
house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than my report card that's in my desk center drawer. I love you!
Call when it is safe for me to come home.

Crewzin...now I know where else I remember you from (besides CF) we thought about getting a PT Cruiser a couple of years ago and posted on that forum for a while. We lived in Italy at the time...decided against the cruiser.

When I bought the Vette it had some old weird tires on there (I don't even remember the name of them now). I was amazed at the power since I couldn't keep traction in 1st, 2nd or 3rd...floor it and the rear end got twitchy. Hard tires...I replaced em with 315's in the rear not it only does that when I want it to (but not in 3rd)

That's it...just replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. Not too hard of a job to do yourself, but much better with a couple of buds to help out when you get tired of twisting into position under the dash to get the nuts off those bolts.

Treated me pretty good. I had them replace the clutch master cylinder a few months ago. They also have a shuttle service and will pick up and deliver the car when done. Came in handy when they replaced the radiator on the Van!

I'm glad that they last so long (7 years and counting). If the LED lights didn't look so cheesy I'd replace them all with LED when it came time.

May 30th:
Just moved to Dallas , Texas .
Now this is a city that knows how to live!!
Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place!
I watched the sunset from a park lying on a blanket.
It was beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here.

June 14th:
Really heating up. Got to 100 today. Not a problem. Live in an
air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure
to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshiper.

June 30th:
Had the backyard landscaped with western plants today. Lots of cactus
and rocks. What a breeze to maintain.
No more mowing the lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it
here.

July 10th:
The temperature hasn't been below 100 all week. How do people get used
to this kind of heat? At least it's kind of windy though. But getting
used to the heat and humidity is taking longer that I expected.

July 15th:
Fell asleep by the pool. (Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body).
Missed 3 days of work. What a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson
though. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this.

July 20th:
I missed Morgan (our cat) sneaking into the car when I left this
morning. By the time I got to the hot car for lunch, Morgan had died
and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and stank up the $2,000
leather upholstery. I told the kids that she ran away. The car now smells
like
Kibbles and ****s. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this
heat.

July 25th:
The wind sucks. It feels like a giant freaking blow dryer!! And it's
hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is not working and the AC
repairman
charged $200 just to drive by and tell me he needed to order parts.

July 30th:
Been sleeping outside by the pool for 3 nights now. $1,500 in damn
house payments and we can't even go inside. Why did I ever come here?

Aug. 4th:
It's 115 degrees. Finally got the air-conditioner fixed today. It cost
$500 and gets the temperature down to 85, but this freaking humidity
makes the house feel like it's about 95. Stupid repairman. I hate this
stupid city.

Aug. 8th:
If another wise ass asks, "Hot enough for you today?" I'm going to
strangle him. Damn heat. By the time I get to work the radiator is
boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like baked cat!!

Aug. 9th:
Tried to run some errands after work. Wore shorts, and sat on the black
leather seats in the ol' car. I thought my ass was on fire. I lost 2
layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and ass. Now my car
smells like burnt hair, fried ass, and baked cat.

Aug. 10th:
The weather report might as well be a damn recording. Hot and sunny.
Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do **** for 2 damn
months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week.
Doesn't it ever rain in this damn desert? Water rationing now, so my
$1700 worth of cactus just dried up and blew into the damn pool.
Even the cactus can't live in this damn heat.

Aug. 14th:
Welcome to HELL!!! Temperature got to 115 today. Forgot to crack the
window and blew the damn windshield out of the car. The installer came
to fix it and said, "Hot enough for you today?" My wife had to spend the
$1500 house payment to bail me out of jail.

Freaking Texas . What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live
here...

It's been on a rollback twice but I've never taken pics of it (too depressing) Once when an alternator died on me and the second time when my brake master cylinder went out.

Changing the brakes has to be the 2nd easiest thing to do on the Vette after changing the oil. I've never noticed any smoke coming from the brakes though...

Mine isn't sparking clean either right now. If you come on post with stop by the JAG office so that I can check it out (I'm in TDS corridor to the right after Legal Assistance). If you park near my Vette I'll probably hear you pull up :D

It's a 1990. I have the shop manual at home but of course it's normally not as easy as the shop manual suggests. Just looking at the replacement parts it's seem that there's something special about the 90-91 booster (at least OEM) $300! I'd like to use the metal aftermarket for half the price if I can!

How hard of a job is it? I'm pretty sure mine is going out. First time I hit the brakes it's normal, if I hit them again within a minute or so I get a hard pedal and can hear air pressure being lost. I can still stop but it takes a lot more force to do it.

Anyone done it?

Thanks,
