Well Brian old dudes rule I am 57. Keep up the good work. Warren and Coburn were friends of my parents. Warren lived down the street he just passed away. I hung out in his Garage. Lots of the big time racers were visiting on his days off work (Rain For rent/ The Lake Family). I had a crush on Muldowney.

Your right about Famosa it has had a drop in appeal over the years.Shirley Muldowney was the grand marshal at last years March meets. The track condition caused a lot of down fall for the sport. It was dangerous and no one wanted to up grade it for years. In the old days we had the big names racing there, Connie and Scot Kalitta, Big daddy Don the Snake Paroadone, Don Garlits, and a lot of others. I was into bracket racing.
It does sit in the middle of nowhere you park in a field and the stands and racing grounds havent changed since I was a kid in the 70's. The closest motel is a long way off.

That is what I liked about Lone Pine, small comunity, everybody knows everyone else, most people hate LA because of the Dry lake, and the other joke the pure bottled water from Mt Whitney. I know where the golf course is and have viewed the Whitney Portal. Don't know whey my sons friend will get back from Alaska , but when she does we will be heading up there.

Had to take them off to install the Instrument Cluster. He put several holes in the orginal dash. Why I haven't spent the money to replace them yet. Fixing the big things first.
The new clutch system worked great yesterday to and from Pismo Beach. Knock on wood. Might run it over to Vegas in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the Spell checkers was just joking about them. I have no excuse except for the meds. Been on Disability since May. Moving to my new school in Aug. Sadly to say the blue door in the picture 34 is my current classroom.

Back to the Weather strips thanks for the info on their adaptations

I have both and that is why I was asking about the passenger side Dash Panel. The fake wood panel was screwed on by the former owner. I was hoping it was better quality.

The best sources are Corvette-Rubber.com, Wilcox and GM itself.

You want the latest revision material from the 1996 Corvette. It is a better material that won't break down and won't tear as easily.

The one in Echlers. I know I could go back to the orgional. Just concerned about the stregnth of the plastic. Does it become brittle from the heat in a short period of time?

In your opinion is it worth it?

Questions is it just a thin piece of plastic junk. It does look a little better, but is that just because the add says so.

Thanks I watched one of their videos and they do impressive work, but to me it appeared it would all come with a big price tag. Thanks for the list I already buy from most of the people from the list. Have a nice day.

I totally agree with you I was looking at Keisler TKO500 (500HP) in Corvette Central $3295.00 without shipping. Really lucky to get parts. Had no Idea they would not be out there some ware. The overdrive alone rebuilt from SK Speed was going to be $1400/$60 shiping / $200 deposit

Milsurpman You were right on the bearings. For the over drive. Pickes up another unit for $200 used will check it out and rebuild it for a spare.

Well runs great now. Pedal is were it should be. The guy at SK speed told me of some after market needle bearing for the over drive. With the brand new flywheel it is better than new. Teo different Shops including SK Speed told me it was best to shim the flywheel or save time and put in an OME new flywheel for some reason the corvette and camarrow had simular problems. First time In fourty years I have run into this. I will in time Everything is new clutch kit. hydrolics so if this one last 6 months I will become a beleiver.
Still loking for Transmission plugd that aren't melted

If any one wants a flywheel let me know maybe we can swap out for something

Well AAA had a lot to do with getting it in shape as a major sponcer. Now there by the west entrance is about a 1/4 mile of almond shell waiting to be turned into fule. Ever now and then a pile of them burst into flames and makes a big mess.

Famosa after the March meets lost so much money they will be cutting down on some of the events. I live 30 miles away been going there since high school 1970. It use to be a hot spot. Still in the middle of orchards.

We should have our answer tomorrow. My buddy that has the shop we are putting it together in, is waiting to see the discount. He keeps me from blowing all my cash.

I just want to drive it from California to visit my daughter in Albuquerque at the Air Force Base. Might give this car to my grand soon for his 16th birthday.

Thanks we ar working on them right now. We will proably go with the rebuilt. My partner at the shop thinks I am nuts. I like my new toy. They claim they have all parts right now. We found needle bearings in the pan. This was replaced in 2001 the other owner never changed the fluid or the filter. It was replaced with the origional Bearings. Supperised it lasted this long. I will just wait for christmas to paint it.

While replacing the Clutch we found while changing the filter in the over drive pan, bearing and a lot of deposits in the pan. Does any one have a diagram of the working and where to get parts for it? Over drive works great???

Old fly wheel on the edge of tolarance. New one and new clutch and presure plate. putting pan back on after replacing rear main seal. Any one know what all the plugs on the transmisson look like . Found one that goes to the CAGS. Most of them are melted but working. Do they make a harness or does someone have pictures of what the plugs look like. Have a few Jeep wireing harnesses in good shape.

buttonwillowraceway.com Copy and paste

Great place for testing and for the new driver courses on driving on a real classy track. Famosa Drag racing is also close by from my house about 15-20 minutes for each one.

The tire size are 18" and 19" 20" wide with C6 rims. Found a little rubbind off the plastic on the drivers side rear. Another question was will it be driveable with 16" spare tire. It was lowered an 1" in the front

The fly wheel had a lot of blue like it had been slipping. My parts guy is an old buddy and he is replacing the hydrolic system a complete clutch assembly and lines I am buying a new fly wheel. We will put it together next week and see what happens next. Thought we might try a different brake fluid next time.
