I don't know much about these, but did you pinch a wire when you bolted the seats down?

65 mpg is pretty darn good if you ask me!

Anywho, got a few of my errands done today. Got my motor oil (ended up w/10w-30 instead of 5w-30 since they were out...oh well) and I should be headed over to my buddy's to do that. We're gonna clean up a little, too.

Tried to feed the baby some new formula today. She wasn't having any of that. I guess momma is stuck pumping it out like a cow. Mom's mile is still best, but it's nice to use formula in a pinch.

Anywho, I'm out.

Obama is a pretty bad public speaker IMO, he should stick to the script! (And maybe write the script for once.)

Oh, so since he's a bad speaker I shouldn't care what he says? He said something, and I disagree with it. That's my right.

You interpret what he says your way, I interpret it my way. If someone comes up to you and says "you're an asshole" do you say, well, he's just a poor speaker and I shouldn't take offense at that?

I'm glad that you helped a guy out and the parts store - honestly I am. Everyone needs help sometimes. I try to help people as much as possible with small things. My gripe is how we bend the rules for immigrants and cater to them. Real world example: In my school district, they decided that since they had multiple Spanish speaking children in the elementary school they would just teach them in Spanish. What?!?! How are they going to learn English then? Certainly not at home! When my wife came here, she didn't speak one word of English. Within three months of being in English-taught classes, she spoke it well enough to get by, and fluently shortly thereafter. Was it tough at first - she says it was, but the best way to learn a language is immersion. Period. Those kids are not benefiting from being alienated from the English speaking students, which is what happened. The other big argument in the school district is since they had to take a classroom up to do this, they lost space for the computer lab and had to pay different instructors. Since that's *my* tax money, too, I should have a voice in how it's spent.

I have no problems with immigrants being in the country. If I did, I wouldn't be married to my wife. All I want is if they come to this country, make an effort, which some do, but others don't.

Rant over.

I believe the hanger brackets are different, but that should be easy to remedy.

Good morning CGs!

It's Monday. But for me it's Saturday. Ha. Sucks to be you.

I've got some plans today. I had intended to cut the grass, but it's raining as I sit here and type away, so that's on the back burner. I have to run to wal-mart to get some motor oil and cough syrup. Oil for the car, cough syrup for me. I also have to run to my buddy's house later and help him fill out some business paperwork. After that I'm stopping by another friend's house to do the oil change on his lift and help him clean up the garage a bit. All in all I've got a full day. I'm gonna slip my workout in there sometime and try to finish vacuuming to pool so I can swim, too.

Anyone else have big plans for the day?

Hopefully this rain lets up so I can get everything accomplished how I'd like. If I have time I might tinker with the car a little today, too, if not maybe tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I don't get why that's offensive?

Maybe you've been in California too long.

I find it offensive because this a-hole is telling me what I need to do with *my* children and how to raise them. Immigrants coming to another country - *ANY* country - need to learn the language there. English is the commonly accepted language in the United States. If I move to France, I would learn to speak French, etc. I wouldn't expect the stores to write everything in two languages, like when I walk down the aisle at the supermarket here (in Spanish).

As far as him saying "don't worry about immigrants, they'll learn English" that's a bunch of crap, too. I've dealt with many immigrants who have been here over 20 years, of multiple nationalities, who don't speak two words of English besides McDonald's and Coca-cola.

Spanish seems to be the only language around here that we bend over backwards to cater to - it's not the most widely spoken language in the world. Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world. So why doesn't BO tell me to teach my kids to speak Mandarin?

And before you complain about me being ethnocentric, for your edification my wife is an immigrant who learned English when she moved here 12 years ago. Her entire family are also immigrants who all learned English and don't expect others to cater to them. I speak two languages and am learning my third.

I'll raise my child how I see fit. By the time she is done with school she will speak a minimum of three languages. But not because Barack Obama tells me so. It will be for her own advancement in the world.

I have never pulled the motor, so I can tell you what I have heard, only. It's probably easier to remove it without the trans, but a lot of guys do it with it still attached. Good idea to remove all the accessories and the wiper motor, as stated. The hood does not need to be removed.

When reinstalling, put the heads and manifold on first, it's easier to torque the bolts that way.

Take some pics and post 'em up.

Good luck,

Matthew

I'd say that's about right. Depends on how bad the curb rash is, too. Check the sizes, too, to see if it's 9.5 all around or 9.5 and 8.5.

Good morning CGs!

Well TGIF, huh? Not for me yet. Two more nights and then I'm off for a couple.

Enjoyed the car show last night. It was a huge turnout and saw quite a few vettes. I was laughing at one, though. An old, old, old, old (did I mention old?) guy had about a 64 convertible. From 20 feet it looked ok, but you got up close and could see where 40 years of negelect had set in. Paint was trashed (and poorly touched up...looks like he used a paint brush) and to top it off he used construction adhesive to reattach the hood emblem...lol. Still, I'm sure he enjoys driving it. I'd love to "save" it, though.

Anyone have big plans for the weekend?

Hope everyone has a great day!

That's also a sign of a bad fuel filter or fuel delivery problems. Like Andy said, codes are the first place to check. We need a little more info to help give a better diagnosis.

If the previous owner had an aftermarket radio already there is a good chance the speakers were aftermarket, as well. The installer will be able to tell the difference. That is, of course, assuming that the PO didn't use a speaker adapter harness available for the bose systems. I doubt he did though, it's not super common, AFAIK.

You are now stripped of your trivia winner rights for shaming yourself. As per trivia rules, the trivia winner duties will be performed by the trivia runner up, Crash. Don't try calling Donald Trump and crying because it won't work. Neither will rehab.

Crash, please step up to claim your prizes and be advised of the trivia winner code of conduct.

Good morning CGs!

How is the day so far? Getting close to the weekend for most!

I am going to a car show tonight. I have to work out quick and then hit the sack because I need to get up early. I'm meeting my buddy up there (the one who wants a vette but still can't convince the wife) and we're gonna hang out for a bit. Should be a good show. He entered the raffle to win a 1974 vette, so we'll see how that turns out.

Anything new and exciting? Hope everyone has a great day!

Congrats on the new car - start a thread and post some pics!

Chris - I think this is a conspiracy and you ruby owners are trying to push us "regular" guys out....

Good Evening CGs!

Sorry I missed chat this morning! I was so beat on my way home. I have a 25 mile drive to work, and I was falling asleep on the way back. Not exactly safe to do, but I was just so tired for some reason. Sometimes working midnights wears you down. So I got home, ate "dinner" with my wife, and went straight to bed. Feel a lot better now. Woke up, played with the rugrat, ate some grub, and I'm ready to attack my chest, shoulders, & triceps (with ab ripper!) workout. Then I'm off to work to do it all over again

Runner - I think that's cool that you have that "tradition". I don't really have any old friends out here. I moved from Detroit to Chicago about 4 years ago, and I know some people out here, but I'm closest with my wife's family (large extended family). But I have all of my "imaginary" friends on the 'puter! HA.

Everyone needs to keep Chris motivated to keep walking - so harass him about it as often as possible

Grizz - I know it's hard to get motivated sometimes. I have a couple little tasks to do on the vette, but just haven't gotten to it.

On a "neat" note, I stopped by a car restoration place today that works on all high end classics and imports. Owner showed me a 1939 chrysler he's restoring. Said it's worth about $400,000 when he's done with it :shaking: I told him I'm gonna stop by on my days off and stare at the pretties, and he said you better not or I'll put you to work...I said "ok". I could only wish. He showed me some doors and engine parts he made by hand to do restoration work on a couple of cars. Awesome. I am amazed by the level of some people's craftsmanship.

Hope everyone has a good night!

Matthew

I also had a problem earlier - when my one headlight was noticeably dimmer, my battery was bad. Bad batteries can cause multiple, strange electrical problems with the C4s.
