I don't know if they will fit your heads - that application says 1958-1986...

They look nice, though.

I know I'll save a lot doing it myself. I used to do finish carpentry (remodeling/repair), and my uncle owns a high end ($3-5 million+ homes) construction company and my BIL works for him. I'm still looking at over $5,000 just in material costs alone. I've hung sheetrock, and it sucks. I have a big basement. The only thing worse than hanging sheetrock is sanding it. Done that once or twice in my life

I won't do electrical (plus here you have to run conduit and some other things) and I am not a plumber, although I can do basic sweating, etc.

Right now the basement is where I have my weights, pool table, and storage. It's not a necessity to be finished, so one of these days we'll get it done

What do you need to do to finish it?

HAHA....everything! Metal studs, insulation, sheetrock, electrical, plumbing, bathroom materials , flooring, and a dude to put it all in cheap

I'm looking at a minimum of $10,000 to finish the basement. Not in the cards right now. I'm trying to keep my money in savings with the new kid and the fact my wife will only be working part time. I'm secure in my job, but it's nice to brace for the future since we don't know what kind of storm we will be facing.

Good morning CG's!

How is everyone this morning? Chipper and ready to start the day? I hope so.

I am getting ready to go hit the weights in a few minutes. After that, I have to help wifey clean up the living room a little. The neighbors are coming over this morning to come see the baby (they have a 5 month old little boy...looks like Samantha will have a boyfriend already!). Unfortunately, keeping the house clean is a lot more difficult now with the baby. I sat down on the couch last night and just about got "cookie monster" rammed up my rear. Toys everywhere already, and she can't even play with them yet. Sheesh. And I know it's downhill from here....lol.

Hope everyone has a great day.

You need to monitor the fuel pressure while it's running. If that's the case, it sounds like a fuel delivery issue - clogged fuel filter or bad pump, possibly. I'd check that FPR, too, some of those adjustable ones have been known to be bad.

Good morning CG's!

How is everyone doing so far today? Beginning to sink into the weekly routine now that Monday is over?

Well, I get a "rest" day from my workouts today, then tomorrow it's back to hittin the weights hard again. No other plans for the morning hours. Get a little grub and then time for bed. The wifey and rugrat are still sleeping, so maybe we'll get some breakfast once they get up. We'll see what happens.

Hope everyone has a great day!

There are lots of different styles - I wear something like that and they are comfortable. I wear a size 12, and haven't had any problems in the vette.

Why do you *need* an amp? Do you have component speakers in the doors? If you just have basic speakers in the doors, you can run them off the head unit. The sound won't be as clean, but for the average person the difference is negligible, and in that case it's probably not worth adding the amp.

Sorry, I don't remember exactly what's being done on the car. Is the motor stock? Are the injectors original? Do you have an adjustable FPR (that's what it sounds like?). On my 89, which should be same as 91, the fuel pressure when the key is on (after the fuel pump primes the system) is around 42-43 psi (per the FSM, it should read between 40.5-47). That's stock, though, so if there are changes it could be different.

When I was younger I couldn't afford a whole lot of "toys" - but when you get a little older, and you are careful with your spending habits, you can afford some things. When you get a better paying job it makes a big difference.

Good morning CG's!

How is everyone's day so far? I'm back to the daily grind, so I just got home from work a few minutes ago. Been back for two days, so I'm still adjusting a little. It's hard after being off for so long!

Weatherman predicts rain for tonight....funny, it was raining on my way home. I guess tonight and this morning are synonyms in the weather world.

Other than that, no news on my front. What's everyone else got planned for today?

Looks neat, but there's no limit to the number of entries, so your chances could be pretty low. I'm supposed to go to a car show next week that is raffling off a restored '73. I think I might toss $100 in the ring for six tickets - there is a limit of the total number sold - I don't remember how many, but it's decent odds.

9th injector? Seriously? I have an'84, so know just about nothing about the L98. What does the 9th injector do?

On 85-88, there is a 9th fuel injector (referred to as the cold start injector) which pumps more fuel into the motor for cold starts. It was eliminated in 89 and up and the computer was reprogrammed to allow the other 8 injectors to flow more, essentially creating the same effect.

Wow sounds like a cool trip. Welcome back? Enjoy any good Canadian beer while you were up there?

Nice bike! But it looks like someone's hand got caught in your rear treads. I'd check that out. Otherwise when you ride you might hear a "thump, thump, thump" noise every time the tire spins.

Matthew

What does the wife think?

Thanks, Ron. I sent you a PM earlier. Right now his purchasing is in "limbo" until we can convince his wife...lol.

Since it's in Florida and could be a flood/hurricane victim, I would check this site, too, it's free. It's the National Insurance Crime Bureau, and it'll tell you if it's stolen or been reported as a total to the insurance companies.

HAHA. That's the funniest thing I've ever seen. I stole it and plan on using it later

Unfortunately, I don't think these photos will help you much. I shot what I could see. But I think you already have this covered?

This is the line coming from what I believe is the brake switch - the pic is hard to tell but it is directly under the brake booster and it leads to the cruise control system (next pic)
Photobucket

This is the one line coming in from the brake switch, and another line going back out to the plenum area and it tees off to the vacuum ball in the front d/s fender
Photobucket

This is the line coming from the vacuum ball/cc tee - as you can see it connects with this rubber connector just under the plenum
Photobucket

The line to the left (front of the motor) goes under the plenum and connects plenum which in turn has an outlet that goes to the FPR
Photobucket

The line to the right goes down behind the distributor and enters a corrugated/taped wire harness
Photobucket

I looked through the FSM, but I had a tough time finding a complete vacuum routing diagram. I can look again later.
