I agree. I remember someone else having a problem with his cat and it didn't glow. He unhooked the exhaust at the manifold to see if it was the problem, and it ran better unhooked. Just a thought.

Hey Chris, sorry to hear about your troubles. Hopefully after your wife has a day to cool off, you might be able to have a good heart to heart conversation. Sometimes we have to be angry before the truth about what's bothering us really comes out. Try flowers.

If you need, you can come live in my basement, but the Ruby has to sleep outside

How's this size - I think it's appropriate for a signature:

Photobucket

Just right click on it and save to your computer, then upload it to photobucket (or whatever internet site you're using)

For the avatar how are you trying to load it? Under the user menu, select "view account". Once that comes up, click the "avatar" button at the top of the screen. Once the new screen comes up, use the "browse" button to find the file on your computer and once selected hit submit.

As far as the signature file, give me a second and I'll resize it for you.

Good Morning CGs,

I'm your host, Matatk, CSS996 has been fired.

So what's new and exciting? I'm taking to vette to get detailed today. Jason from Jasons Auto Spa is doing it. Some of you might know him from the other forum, but he does great work. Looking forward to getting it back.

Anyone else have big plans for the day? I have a few other errands but that's about it. Work out once I get home from all my running around then probably enjoy a little BBQ.

The wife and I watched the movie "Vantage Point" last night. I was pretty impressed. It was the one where the president gets shot and you see about five different people's point of view as to how the events unfolded. I enjoyed it and recommend it if you like action/suspense type movies.

Anywho, that's it for me - hope everyone has a great day.

"You stay classy, San Diego" (who can tell me what that's from)

Speaking of those wacky Canucks:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/america ... canada.bees.ap/index.html

Quote:

Millions of bees buzz Canada's main highway

ST. LEONARD, Canada (AP) -- Twelve million honey bees have been released onto Canada's largest highway in northwest New Brunswick after a transport truck overturned.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Monday that a truck carrying 330 crates of bees was traveling on a ramp on the highway when the load shifted and the truck overturned shortly after 1000 GMT.

Police said a downpour of rain has helped to contain the bees in and around the truck.

Bee experts from Agriculture Canada were called in to help deal with the accident.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Should I be surprised? Not sure how many of you remember this semi-recent event:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/06/30/b ... ry.shooting.ap/index.html

HOUSTON, Texas (AP) -- A Texas man who shot and killed two men he suspected of burglarizing his neighbor's home was cleared in the shootings Monday by a grand jury.

Joe Horn, 61, shot the two men in November after he saw them crawling out the windows of a neighbor's house in the Houston suburb of Pasadena.

Horn called 911 and told the dispatcher he had a shotgun and was going to kill the men. The dispatcher pleaded with him not to go outside, but Horn confronted the men with a 12-gauge shotgun and shot both in the back.

"The message we're trying to send today is the criminal justice system works," Harris County District Attorney Kenneth Magidson said.

Horn's attorney, Tom Lambright, has said his client believed the two men had broken into his neighbor's home and that he shot them only when they came into his yard and threatened him.

The two Horn suspected of committing burglary, Hernando Riascos Torres, 38, and Diego Ortiz, 30, were unemployed illegal immigrants from Colombia. Torres was deported to Colombia in 1999 after a 1994 cocaine-related conviction.

The episode touched off protests from civil rights activists who said the shooting was racially motivated and that Horn took the law into his own hands. Horn's supporters defended his actions, saying he was protecting himself and being a good neighbor to a homeowner who was out of town.

"I understand the concerns of some in the community regarding Mr. Horn's conduct," Magidson said. "The use of deadly force is carefully limited in Texas law to certain circumstances ... In this case, however, the grand jury concluded that Mr. Horn's use of deadly force did not rise to a criminal offense."

Lambright did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment from The Associated Press.

Texas law allows people to use deadly force to protect themselves if it is reasonable to believe they are in mortal danger. In limited circumstances, people also can use deadly force to protect a neighbor's property; for example, if a homeowner asks a neighbor to watch over his property while he's out of town.

It's not clear whether the neighbor whose home was burglarized asked Horn to watch over his house.

Stephen Baldwin, a born-again Christian and brother of Alec, whose most recent "role" was an apprearance on Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice, told Fox News' Laura Ingraham that he will leave the country if Barack Obama becomes the next president (fingers crossed?), yet another reason for Hollywood to keep making campaign donations to the Senator.

Watch the clip to see Mr. Baldwin's rant against Hollywood's support of the Democratic candidate and the reasons why he's backing John McCain.

I've heard people that have the kwiklift love them. I've never used one. My buddy has a pneumatic scissor lift in his garage and that is awesome for working on cars.

I honestly don't know what makes a good/bad lift, but how extreme are the pricing differences? Here is a 4 post lift I saw for not that much more money. It could be crap, but I don't know. Just pointing out some other options:

Congrats on the win! Wife and I went to Vegas in December for a few days - didn't win anything but had a good time. There are a couple river boats not too far from us - we'd like to go for the evening but haven't had the chance. She just likes to play the nickel slots anyway, so it's a cheap night.

Good morning CGs!

Well, interesting already. Baby just puked all over my wife. Awesome. Lol - at least it was on her, and not me (this time). Other than that I have to cut the grass and go back to the dentist today. At least I'll drive the vette there. No other plans for the day. It's my rest day for my workouts, so I get to relax, then back to the grind tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day!

When I took my spare down to work on the exhaust, it took me over a half an hour to get the bolt out it was so corroded (had to use a breaker bar). I'd check that, too. I ended up removing the entire bolt and cleaning it and lubing it up. Spare tire was full, though

Yeah you ruby guys stick together!

Actually, my buddy is only 15 minutes away - he has a sweet 94, cammed, all set up. He's a regular mechanic during the day but a corvette mechanic on his off hours. Unfortunately, due to our work schedules we don't get to work on the cars that much. We did spend most of Saturday on his jet skis though - that was sweet. We'll be doing an oil change one of these weeknights, I believe.

Adios!

I left the tubes that are welded on the manifolds - I just unscrewed the air tubes that were attached to them. Otherwise you could cut them off and weld the holes closed. The black box - I honestly never even looked in the FSM to see what it does, I just took it out...lol.

I'm a little scared to take my 06 Xterra off road - it's my DD and I'd be SOL if I broke it....lol.

Two blondes are shopping at the mall. When they are done they go out to their car, which happens to be an awesome leather interior convertible. When they get to the car, they realize they had locked the keys in the car. So they both kind of stand there and think for a while. Then one has the idea to try to open the car with a hanger. So the first blonde starts fiddling with the lock with the hanger. The other blonde looks up at the sky and suddenly becomes very worried.
'HURRY, HURRY," she urges. "IT'S GOING TO RAIN AND WE LEFT THE TOP DOWN!''

:booty:

I've never tried this, but there's a video on youtube showing a person unlocking a door with a tennis ball.

Youtube Tennis Ball

That used to work on some cars, like hondas, that had a vacuum locking systems - some cars I believe it still works on, but it won't work on corvettes.

The PKE is locked in the car? Try shaking the car to jiggle it and see if you can get it open. Otherwise, what Andy said - carefully slip a coathanger between the window and weatherstripping and hit the unlock button.

Sounds like a short in the line - maybe something that got wet during the storm and when it dried out it went down?

It took me two hours to get the A.I.R. pump gutted and the piping removed. No more rattling. Can't tell much difference with the pipes removed though.

Do you mean you can't tell a performance difference? I don't think you will. I did it simply for cosmetic reasons and the ease of getting into the engine bay to work on things.

Good morning CGs!

Late start for me - I had some things to take care of this morning, so I was up early, but out the door. No big plans for the day - gonna go do some cardio in the basement and then maybe tinker with the vette. Not sure. I take it on Wednesday to get detailed, so I'm looking forward to that. No other big plans.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sounds like some good ideas - but why would politicians want to be smart about things???
