Ugh that sounds crappy. I believe white smoke (especially continuous) is a sign of coolant/water leak such as a bad head gasket. Let us know what you find out.

Good morning CGs!

How is everyone's day so far? I have to run some errands today and I'm gonna tinker with the car a little. I have to check the blower control module later and if I'm lucky the parts store will have a horn relay.

Other than that, just bum around the house. Hope everyone has a great day!

I think your right. Alot of kids jump on a bike thinking they can just hop on and be an expert when it really takes years to master bike skills. I rode for a year on a dirt bike and 2 years on a cbr600 and with some practice I hope to master my RC51 in about a year.

Definitely. The bike I dropped was a Yamaha R6. Quite a powerful machine. I was inexperienced at the time. I was turning a corner at about 10 mph and the back wheel slid out when I gave it too much gas. I wasn't horsing around or trying to be an ass. Since then I've owned a couple 1100 cc cruisers, which were more to my liking. You can ride for 20 years and still learn something new or have a new experience. The bottom line is riding any bike can be dangerous and extra care needs to be taken.

Good luck with the bike.

Hey good deal on a nice looking bike. Never been a big fan of crotch rockets because I dropped one when I was about 20 - scared me a little bit. Stay safe out there!

Good morning CGs!

I was MIA for a couple days due to all the family in town. Looks like the place didn't burn to the ground without me, so I guess we're safe.

Dropped my sister off at the airport, about the take the baby to the doctor, and then I have to work out. Got a busy day planned.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Is it synthetic in there now?

I know that all the manufacturers have changed their recommendations for oil changes. I use dino in my xterra and change it about every 4000 miles. I'm kinda with you though - especially since it's a new car - what's it cost, a couple dollars for peace of mind? Look at the vette guys who change their oil every thousand miles. Is it necessary? No. Can you do it because you want to? Yes.

It looks nice. One suggestion I have is maybe make more "tech" forums instead of just "honda". For example, "european" or "import - asian" - What if you have a question about porsches or toyotas? Just a thought.

Matthew

btw - what does signal13 mean? Any significance?

Good morning CGs!

I don't know what's on the agenda for today. Had my family come in yesterday for the BBQ, that'll be tomorrow. I think we've got a little last minute shopping to do, keep the house clean, and vacuum the pool. Other than that I need to check the blower control module on my a/c, it's been acting weird - might be bad. The only reason I noticed it is that I had the a/c on yesterday for about 2 hours, and it actually started working better (blowing harder) the longer it was on. I'll test it and see if it's bad.

Anywho, hope everyone has a great day.

Sex Offender Wins $57 Million in Lottery
AP
Posted: 2008-06-19 18:03:59
LANSING, Mich. (June 19) - The winner of last week's $57 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot is a registered sex offender who also pleaded guilty to two breaking and entering charges in the 1980s.

Fred Topous Jr., 45, was discharged from Michigan Department of Corrections supervision in October 2006.
The Kent City man traveled to Lansing on Tuesday to claim the prize from Friday's drawing in the multistate game. Topous chose to take the prize as a $34 million lump sum payment, before taxes.

Topous said he planned to buy a house, send his children to college and have some fun with his winnings. He said he and his wife work multiple jobs to make ends meet and thought they'd have to work till they died.

"I want to enjoy a little bit of life," Topous told state lottery officials. "We're plain folks. We've struggled all our lives."

According to the Corrections Department's offender profile, Topous pleaded guilty to breaking and entering charges in 1984 and 1988 and to assault with intent to commit sexual penetration in 1999. In the latter case, Topous was charged with having sex with a 13-year-old girl, USA Today reported.

All three offenses occurred in Grand Traverse County. Prosecutor Alan Schneider said Wednesday that he wasn't familiar with the cases.

The Michigan Lottery told Grand Rapids television station WOOD that anyone can play the lottery except those under 18 and those who work for the agency.

"He's had some tough breaks," friend and co-worker Jan Westcott told The Grand Rapids Press. "I know some of his secrets, and he knows some of mine. I'm not going any further."

A telephone message was left with Topous on Wednesday night.

Plyometrics workout kicked my butt this morning. I have to get cleaned up to go to the airport and pick up my sister. Then my mom, dad, aunt, and cousin are driving in later this afternoon. The big welcome home Samantha BBQ is on Sat, so the whole family will be here. Sounds like fun.

Chris-

Just tell your wife you're "temporarily holding" it for a friend in Chicago who will pick it up shortly. After it's sat in the drive for a month or so you can start working on it and say the deal fell through, so you have to keep it and fix it.

Good morning CGs!

How is everyone's day so far?

Not too bad, here. Just had an egg white breakfast burrito, getting ready to go hit the weights. I'm loving this P90X. It's hard, but enjoyable.

After that I have to clean the basement and help tidy up the house a little. We have the BBQ on Sat and my mom, dad, sister, aunt, and cousin are all coming tomorrow so we need to get things in order.

Oh, I have to get a new horn relay for the vette, too. I tried to honk at some a-hole yesterday because I was in an intersection as he was running a stop sign, but the horn didn't work. I can hear it clicking in the DIC, though, so I know what it is.

Anywho, hope everyone has a great day.

My wife would kill me if I bought a project car. Hell, she thinks the one I drive now is a project car! I've always wanted to restore a C3 though. Just pipe dreams. I know it's more time and effort and money than I have, but still it's an idea I've had...

Anywho, ended up getting a new fridge tonight. My wife just *had* to have an extra one. Kinda pissed me off since we don't need one and never use it. She made me go to look at Home Depot (my favorite store) but I couldn't find anything in the scratch and dent section (it's for the basement, only). I went next door to Lowe's (I don't really like their store as much) and told the guy in appliances what I was looking for. They didn't have anything in the back, but I asked him about a floor model (which had a scratch on the door and a couple dings on the side). He checked and it was the last one they had. Made a deal on it. It's a whirlpool, basic model - was $328, but I got it for $250. Made me happy. Besides, it's one less thing for the wife to moan about, so that makes me extra happy.

Talk to everyone tomorrow!

Sounds like everyone's been busy. I got the rear shocks put on and did the FPR diaphragm. Hopefully that should fix the hard starting. I'm gonna go do some errands now. Got a full plate.

It's a bit of a drive for me now, but when I lived in MI we used to hang out in Royal Joke on the weekends - neat place to go.

These aren't necessarily "motivational" but I like 'em!

Old one that we've all seen, but still a favorite:

Good Morning CGs!

How is everyone's day so far?

I've got a lot of errands and tasks on my plate today. I'm hoping to work on the car a little, get the rear shocks on and maybe tackle the FPR, but we'll see how that goes.

We are also gonna go to home depot to look for a new fridge for the basement. We had one in the garage (only about 7 years old) and we put in a bunch of chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, and beer in it for the party on Saturday. Well, I went out to the garage yesterday and noticed it wasn't running. Oh damn. Yup, everything inside was defrosted (for several days, too) and completely wasted. Looks like either the compressor went or something else electrical and tripped the GFCI. I reset it and plugged it back in, but it wasn't getting cold at all and the compressor wasn't running. Oh well - the previous owner of the house had already repaired the fridge twice (while new, mind you) and said it never really worked right. So we bought a new one when we moved in and stuck it in the garage. It's garbage night tonight, so out it goes!

Hope everyone has a great day, and no fridge troubles!

I don't have headers yet, but I was looking at Hedman just because of the cost. The other headers are nice, but a little pricey IMHO. If you're looking for Melrose, Speedhound (member here) sells them on his website - you might want to ask him.

Personally, I am waiting for the vector analysis diagram.

What's our vector, Victor?

How was the day everyone?

Pat - that sucks about the rod knock. Is it a pain to rebuild that motor?

Tommy - I didn't know you had more dental work. I thought the last trip was it. Hang in there - you'll have chompers that are good as new when you're done!

J3 - nice to see you again.

As far as me, I got the two front shocks put on before the wifey said play time was over. I'll get the two rear shocks done tomorrow, hopefully.

See everyone tomorrow!
