Buenos dias, mein herr und herren.

Warming slightly. Mid 80's during the afternoon. Mornings and evenings are nice in the low to mid 70's. Trying my best to do a few things while avoiding heavy lifting. I'm sore in the surgical area by the end of the day but I figure I have to move if I'm gonna get better. Sonny-boy is weighing on my mind which doesn't help matters. No news as of yet of his whereabouts. Just gonna keep moving forward one day at a time.

This is what happens when a nation lacks discipline. Runaway renegades supporing God know what. Morals .... do they teach those anymore? I'm not saying that I'm an angel but when you stepped out of line you used to get a Look..... I'm an old hippie that did time in the military and spent his years scrimping and saving so I could live my elder years in peace and harmony. There is no peace and there is no harmony. Except of course in my yard and around my house where I am the Imperial Ruler, defender of all that is right, and will back it up by whatever means are necessary. All hail.

When I just wrote the date I was like ... WHAT??? Where the hell did THIS month go. It's almost All Hallow's Eve. I want to do some chores but battle to do them. I'm trying to stay as low profile as possible for another week as the doc said I can resume activities 4 weeks after surgery. Yep. Next Wed. will be 4 weeks. Time flies when you're having fun. Hell, time flies when you're not having fun. Tempus fugit. Have to work on my bucket list because right now my bucket is empty.

Went to see my cardiologist this morning. Gave me an appointment for 6 months from now so apparently I've got another extension. Temps are down so I'll be outside in the yard. deivery for sue tomorrow first thing in the morning so I should be back home by 10:00 AM. That's just fine by me. Skin doctor next week. I'm sure they'll want to do a little cutting on a couple of spots. After that I should be good for the rest of the year.

Sonny-boy is still in the wind. Hoping he turns up soon. Weighs heavily on my mind but as with all Earthly things, I'm relying on the will of God.
A rare dip in temps is expected here next week in the high 50's for a low on Tues and high 70'd low 80's for highs through the week. I anticipate a lovely week in the Homestead area. Should be some great weeding and outdoor clean up weather. I'm still on a weight restriction for another week and a half. Feeling better and better everyday. Doc said they repaired 2 hernias so no matter what the outcome it should be an improvement of how it was before surgery. Only time will tell. Sue's finger is still on the mend. Her primary physician found that she was battling 2 different bacterial infections in her finger and changed her antibiotics to fight them. Her finger is fat and tender. We both just keep on keeping on. That's all any of us can do.

Nothing to update other than the detective was in contact with me. I'm hanging in there. Keeping busy as usual keeping as distracted as possible. Went by his place this morning and the bag of mail still sits by the front door. Hopefully he is in a safe place. If I saw the grass mowed or the mail picked up I would know he made it back home. Lots of eyes on the street looking for him and people are spreading the word. Thanks for asking.

Today I filed the missing person's report with Miami Dade Police Department and have posted on on several social media sites that have widespread local access to get word out we are looking for Daryl, AKA Sonny-boy. We'll see what comes up now that we have opened more channels and detectives will soon be assigned. Life never fails to provide surprises.

I feel like I did just before the surgery. That's still better than I felt after the surgery. Think it's gonna take some time. I can only hope there is a benefit. We'll see. I'm being good and not lifting anything heavy. I'm also staying somewhat active as I feel that's better than doing nothing.

and the search for Sonny Boy hope that is going better Tommy....

Friday I'm going to do a drive by and see if it looks like he's been home. After that I will proceed with the missing persons report and reach out to the community to see if anybody has seen him. I don't want to be an alarmist as I have mentioned previously, he lives like a hermit. He's not an idiot. Well educated and has survived the past 8+ years without a job subsisting on SNAP benefits and Medicaid insurance. It would all have just gone away if he had got back into the job market and provided for himself. He is overly suspicious of sharing information with anybody. One of the reasons he has not worked. Viscious cycle. We have helped as we could without making him dependent on us. He has choices and could take corrective measures. Refuses to see doctors or take medication. He was not showing any signs of self harm or intentions to harm others. Definitely presented some anger issues when he feels like you are stressing him. Moms and dads have a way of presenting stressful topics from time to time so there was an occasional escalation. We do what we can do.

I'm really torn about Sonny-boy. If he's dead somewhere there is nothing I can do bout it. If he's alive and on the streets there is nothing I can do about it. Seeing that he is an adult and makes his own decisions regardless of how we feel about them, I'm going to hold off for a couple of more days before I sound the alarm. He could be hanging with an unknown friend for all we know. We are supposed to have dinner with our stepson and his wife where I can can ask a few more important questions. Unfortunately Sonny lives in his own dream world. The recent medicare/snap program cuts may have affected him. If he is flat broke he might have been motivated to do something. Of course he does not look to us for consult. He's an extremely private person with a very serious concern over government oversight whereas Sue and I are pretty much an open book and know that big brother is always watching. Watch as they may we've got nothing to hide. I'll let you know if there is a break in the case.

Drove the stolen car to a church parking lot? Repentant sinner no doubt.

I checked local hospitals, jails and the ME's office and he's not there. Guess that could be a good thing. I'll keep looking and hopefully he turns up. If I don't hear anything about him soon I'll put in a missing persons report. Maybe tomorrow. He is a hermit and is rarely seen so there is that. Keeps his phone wrapped in aluminum foil and doesn't use it. Even if you beep outside the house he most often doesn't come out so none of that makes it any easier for communication. Off the grid big time.

Keeping the doctors busy this week between Sue and I. I go for my follow-up Friday. Sue has a couple of hand appointments. She appears to be healing up well. I feel about the same as I felt before the surgery. Hopefully that will change when I start working a little more aggresively and build up some strenghth in that area. I've been being good at not exceeding the weight lifting restriction. Sonny-boy has not been seen around the place he's been staying for several days and his car hasn't moved. Mail I left for him in the front yard was not picked up. My stepson (whose house he stays in), went into his locked bedroom and his bed was made but he's not there. He just turned 45 this month. As his dad he has always left me thinking , and ... He lives alone in the house.

The problem today is the lying bastards that promote different stocks with supposed investment potential even when they're overvalued. Big investors manipulate a stock back and forth with day trading. You really have to be investment educated to play the game today, or be a gambler. I'll let you guess which one I am. But even the big players get scorched. Cash is king but you can't keep up with inflation. Just make sure you save up enough cash. Cash to burn so to speak.

Goomornin everyone. Last month I decided to jump back into the stock market with what I thought would be safe investments. Had the money I took out of the stock market sitting idle. Some stocks had dropped to what I thought would be good purchase points leaving some room for growth. Invested in energy stocks , hydrogen, (a speculated green fuel), and some metal mining companies. All should have been stable I thought but the market lowered the boom. Lost a good chunk of change last week but they say it isn't lost unlessd you sell. So, looks like I'll put the blinders on and have to go long on that investment choice. As I've mentioned before I only have a small portion invested in the stock market. I've been on that roller coaster before and ran for cover in 2012 after regaining previous losses to a positive position. I actually didn't lose any money over the past 5 years. Just all the gains I made evaporated in the course of a week or two. But in reality my problems are nil. There are big investors that must be looking at an accomodating ledge right about now.

I took a fairly active approach to recovery. Today I will tread lightly as I feel an over agressive approach may do more harm than good. Pacing myself more today and giving my body a chance to regroup. Hell, it's only been a week and a day. Of course me beeing me I want it all and I want it now.

Was supposed to get my Suburban's oil changed this A.M. but they told me they couldn't do it till this afternoon. So I shuffled my chores for the day and it still works out about the same timewise. Just killing an hour mid day. One chore I thought I get done will get pushed to tomorrow. After doing some shopping with modest lifting involved (less than 20 lbs.) I'm not much in the mood to do that chore now. I'm doing things like I think I should. Still, it agrivates the surgical area a little bit. Maybe in place of that chore I'll just take a nap.

These days kids reach up and burn their hands on a hot stove. It's the manufacturers fault. Should have had a safety measure and burn notice in plain sight. We have a partial video. The table top didn't fall by itself. The hurt kid is 5 and his brother is 3. I hope he is alright. He went to a reputable children's urgent care facility in Homestead. Sue knows some high powered attorneys so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Sue has a long list of contacts in many fields. Me? Not so much.

I have solutions. Unfortunately they would get tied up in the Supreme Court if they ever even got that far. All these pablum sucking, protectionists would rather take a more sensitive, humane initiative. Here's what works.

This is how my meager stock portfolio looks after the past several weeks. I am heavily invested in hydrogen, energy and utilities. Talk about taking a beating. OUCH!

I got called to the nursery to perforn tech support on an errant printer. Went through all the steps. Nothing seemed to work till I noticed none of the test had black ink. Changed the black ink cartridge and Voila!. Printer back in action. Simple fix that took longer to find than it should have. Display showed no issues with ink. Sue had a woman customer with her two boys aged around 5 and 7. As they were walking around the nursery Sue inquired about the children and the lady said. They're alright. They won't get into any trouble. About 30 seconds later the young boy knocks a stone table top off it's base. He remains standing there balancing it. Then just lets it go and the entire weight of the top falls on his leg. Screams erupt. They loadeed the kid into the Yukon they were in, disonnected the trailer they had and off to get some medical attention. Nice aluminum trailer by the way. Let's see what develops from that. Fortunately we do have liability insurance but you can't fix stupid. Alrighty then. On with the day ......

I laugh every time I read about the immigrant crisis in Massachussetts, New York and other so called safe havens for immigrants. WTF? Texas, Florida and Cali have been dealing with the illegal immigrants for decades. There are 50 states . All should share the abomination of not dealing with secure borders. Since Mexico is now one of our preferred trading partners there should be plenty of jobs there for those seeking the opportunity. The head in the sand approach has not worked in the past and will not work in the future. As far as homelessness for Americans. Regulating where and what type of housing is allowed really needs to be updated. Tiny homes and villages face constant opposition and legislation to prevent affordable housing to the homeless. The sheer numbers of mentally ill, many housed in prisons at great expense, and the kicking the can down the road approach will do nothing to improve the homeless situation. The middle class took a beating over the past 3 decades and continues to decline with wages not keeping up with inflation. There are answers. There are questions. ..... If elected ...... I mean ..... In my opinion, serious isues have to be addressed and not just acknowledged. In the mean time I'll keep my firearms handy. Maybe an unaborted fetus will come up with an answer in the future.

Thanks for the inspiration, guys.

Sue has some uncommon bacterial infection that can be resistant to antibiotics. You can get it from hand to hand contact. She's doing what she has to do and she's a real trooper. The wound is open and has to be scrubbed and redressed twice a day. For me, every time I eat something it's painful. It's like a negative reenforcement. Eat and it will hurt. Guess I'm doing an unplanned diet. Haven't hit the scale yet to see what's up. Maybe in a couple of days. Fortunately I can offset any weight loss during the upcoming holiday season. At least I hope I can.

Sounds like SOP for hospital discharge, tee. Slow. Except for Sue. The discharge nurses are usualy calling me begging to pick up as fast as possible. Glad to hear all is going well post surgery on GGD. I'm doing a little this and that today as tolerated. The clock moves so slow when I don't keep busy.

Please donate to me and Sue as much as you possibly can. I'm sure blessings will be passed upon you and yours. As a gift I will send you a holy dead plant leaf to remind you that as in all living things, there is a beginning and an end. Don't burden yourself with the trappings of this earthly plane. As much as I hate what Sue and I are going through I always remember so many others have it so much worse. Each day I feel better than I was but still far from where I want to be. Fortunately time flies and this will be in the rearview mirror before we know it. My esophagus is my main deterent right now. Hard to eat and drink. Maybe I'll lose a few pounds in the process. Step by step, inch by inch. Just keep moving forward.

Well the surgery is done. Not quite what I expected. Worse. The worst part was the hiccups, bloating, abdominal pressure, vomitting and gas. I'm still getting rid of gas. I didn't know they blew up your abdomin with gas to work lapriscopically. Anyway. The worst is over and recovery is well on it's way. This is day 3. I'm sure it will get better from here. Sue ended up having to go for emergency surgery yesterday on her left forefinger. It started blowing up with a bad infection and her hand doctor brought her in. Doc said if she didn't open it Sue could have lost her finger. So I was left to tend for myself. On top of that I had to go pick her from the hosptal in Miami. Not something I wanted to do on day 2. She drove herself up and FIL brought me to the hospital. I had to pick up the Suburban and drive her home. She's up getting her finger worked on now at the doctors office. They sliced it all the way down her finger and some across her hand. Never a dull day. Sue and I don't have much of a support network other than each other. Not too many people we can depend on for that kind of stuff. I didn't know it but the hospital will not release you to a cab or an Uber after surgery. That want to release you to a family member or friend. I'm sure that can make life difficult for some. Enough about that. Onward. Recovery can't come fast enough. There has been interest in the nursery but the 9.5 and 10% interest on loans is killing the deals. Have to wait for someone with deep pockets.

For surgery tomorrow I'll be sure to have on a clean pair of underwear. I'm still waiting for my surgery confirmation call. That's due sometime later today.
Have you ever heard the expression "bag of dicks"? Sue found a bag of cocks in front of the nursery the other day. Friggin cock fighters dump the losers remains all over the place. It's really not all that unusual in rural SoFlo.

tee, glad everything is going well with the corrective procedures on GGD. I'm confident the outcome will be positive. Cloudy, rainy, thunderous morning. Snoopy the dog is hiding behind the couch. He's not a big fan of this type of weather. Surgeons office called me this morning asking me about a clearance from my cardiologist. I told her "Nobody requested a clearance from my cardiologist.". They requested a clearance from my GP. WTF! Surgery is supposed to be early Wednesday morning. Waiting for a call to see if they are going forward or rescheduling. I just want to get it done and over with. My bp has been high lately. Not really sure why a change now. For years it was basically the same. There's been some changes in the weather and now changes in me ......

Today is Friday. Isn't it? This is why I know there is a God.

Spring and autumn are my two favorite seasons. Unfortunately they don't occur in Florida. LOL. We have summer and two weeks of Florida winter. Those who know, know.

I don't support the current day Democrats in the least or giveaway social programs. Conservatve is how I roll. But I'm also an asshole.

Continuing on my crusade for health. Bloodwork back and it looks OK. Chest x-ray and EKG this morning and we'll see what they say soon enough. I left 1 hour and 15 minutes before my 08:00 appointment and it took me an hour and 25 minutes to get there. I was 10 minutes late. That drive in off peak is about 30 minutes. Miami traffic sucks. Only thing my new doctor did was put me on a prescribed vitamin D and told me to take an OTC B-12 after he reviewed my test results. That's good I guess. Just not feeling up to playing any tag football or walking an 18 hole golf course.

Good thing I have my doctors already lined up. I'm not feeling or doing my best. In today's medical market it's good there are urgent care centers and ER's. Though I do my damnedest to stay out of ER's. They seem to price everything in tens of thousands. Haven't gone to one in over a decade because of that. We have a couple of doctor friends that own an urgent care outfit. If it's too much for them to handle they send us to triage at the local hospital. There they will send you to the appropriate level of medical care needed. I may just have some kind of crud that may be going around. I'm not usually one to get sick. Keeping an eye on my bp.
