OH!

then you prolly need to do this:

[*img]your photo name here[/img*] (without the astericks)

Put that in your post, and it should show up.

I could buy a grow light, and grow "Scooby Doobie Snacks' In the Chia! :tongue10:

Of course, then, I'd get the munchies all the time... :tongue8:

We have no windows either (we have to go the bathroom to see what the weather is outside - the only windows we have).

Maybe the fluorescents will grow the Chia?

I could just see me having that purring cat in my office...

Co-Worker: Oh, hai... Whassat?

Me: It's a stuffed cat that purrs.

Co-Worker: Dude......

Now, the Chia Scooby sounds interesting. Although my office has no windows. Is that a problem? :toothy5:

So here's my question:

Does the guru get anything if I order through the link above? I currently have a "tire guy" (who is a Tirerack distributer) and get a discount. But I'd also like to let them know that their sponsorhip here is making them money. That's what it's all about, after all.

Any thoughts on this?

Yes, both the Tire Rack and Edmunds.com banner ads are click throughs that will earn commission for Corvette-guru.com.

try www.photobucket.com and put your pictures there. Then you can link to them. I posted videos on how to use it for a user named pappyfreebird. See if you can find his thread on how to post pictures.

Good luck!

We often talk about having an office pet. So I bought this: Purring Cat

As for the Chia Pet - I just saw a Scooby Doo Chia Pet at Target!

Good info above. Get the right tranny fluid for your year of GM car. Most any brand is fine IMO. I suggest NGK plugs if you are going to change them often. Copper core plugs (like the NGK's) if you are going to change often, platinum or iridium if you are going for plug longevity. To remove the brace, there are 4 bolts at each of the 4 corners, then 2 nuts on each side in the floorpan area, toward the rear from center of the brace. You do not need to remove the nuts that are in the center of the X. When it comes down you will see that there are aluminum spacer blocks that were between the brace and the car that the rear x brace bolts go up through. Don't lose them. It is simple. I remove the bolts with the car on the ground, then jack it up to do the work. I then jack the car down and reinstall the bolts. That way the chassis isn't slightly twisted when I tighten the bolts. I noticed if I have the front jacked way up when I try to reinstall the bolts they don't line up very well. With the car sitting as normal on the ground the bolts line right up. Also, my X brace was bent up in and hitting the exhaust so I laid the corners on blocks and bent the center down just a little for clearance and it worked fine.

A good thought, but no...

I have three kids, a dog and a cat. I have all the responsibility I can handle. Once the dog dies, no more dogs for awhile. The cat... Well, I may "accidentally" find that another home.

I love animals, but I need a break from them.

Maybe a Chia-Pet.....

Okay, not that anyone here really needed a reason...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - People who do not drink alcohol may finally have a reason to start -- a study published on Friday shows non-drinkers who begin taking the occasional tipple live longer and are less likely to develop heart disease.

My workload is binge and purge. Some days I have two days worth of work to do. Other days, I have nothing. This site keeps me alive on those days when nothing is going on. I'd probably walk around the office making funny noises and disturbing my co-workers otherwise.... :tongue3:

Unless you get stuck in traffic, then it doesn't matter whether you have a 160 or 190* thermostat.

No air flow means temps will rise until 228*, and the fans start their cycling.

Just the nature of the beast.

My 96' got up to 220 once in very heavy traffic (in south Florida at 90 ambient temp. Its driven every day, 25 miles each way to work.

Can we agree not to have a pissing contest?

Anybody remember when Metallica didn't suck?

I like pretty much anything. From Pantera to The Carpenters. Not really into country or reggae. And while I do like some "old school" rap, it has been an acquired taste. I did not like it in the '80s, but I can enjoy it now. Run DMC, L.L. Cool J, and what have you.

But I will say that I have one VERY guilty pleasure... West Side Connection. Gangster Rap featuring Ice Cube. The language makes me cringe sometimes, but I really like the way it sounds, and it is well produced.

Favorites? Dio, Scorpions, Rush, Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, SRV, Satriani, Alice in Chains, Dokken, Ratt (all that 80's hair band stuff).

And I just learned about Apocolyptica and Leningrad Cowboys yesterday, so I'm gonna try to find some of that.

I simply LOVE music!

Good Morning Gurus!

Monday... If you don't have anything good to say....

Naw, it's not quite that bad, I guess. How was your weekend? I hung new curtains in the master bedroom, so that will tell you about how exciting my life is....

In order to change the tranny filter you need to get the car up in the air and remove the X-brace on the vert. You can buy the kit to include the new filter and gasket at a local GM dealer, www.corvettecentral.com or www.gmpartsdirect.com
Gordon Killebrew recommends synthetic fluid such as that made by Mobil 1. I saw him demonstrate how to change the tranny fluid on a A4 C4 once at a Corvette show. He removed the transmission fluid line that attaches at the radiator and secured a rubber hose over the end and placed the other end in a large tub. He then started the car in neutral and let the fluid run out until it started to sputter. He shut the car off. He then removed the intake line and ran a hose from that into a gallon of Mobil 1 tranny fluid. He started the car and ran it in neutral until he could see the new, clean fluid start to discharge into the tub. It was a couple of years ago and I don't remember too well but it seemed like he had to add another quart or so to the Mobil 1 jug cause the tranny might hold more than 1 gallon of fresh fluid. He did say to drive the car a few miles and then check the fluid level at that time and then to check it again after another hundred miles or so. With this method you do not remove the tranny pan or replace the filter.

I'm 20 and have one ticket; failure to obey a traffic signaling device. I swore it was yellow but the officer was sure it wasn't. That ticket will be 3 years old this October and go off insurance, but it didn't affect the insurance.

I speed, but generally I am just cruising(maybe limit to 10 over) when on regular roads. When I am on a backroad where I know there won't be traffic and where cops can't sit, I will get going a bit. However, I will NOT street race.

The cops around here are more concerned with cars with body kits and wings than Corvettes. Generally, older people own Corvettes and generally it's the younger people doing the stupid shit that needs police attention.
