I use to run 10 VCR's coping directly from my computer, never had a problem except for wearing them out. VHS sucks. I only do DVD's now

Another vote for 350-400rwhp depending on torque band. More is fun but can be frustrating if you cant get it to the ground.
Drove a TT C5 awhile back that was a big letdown. Dyno queen that did nothgin but burnouts in 1st and second, didnt pull hard as expected in 3rd+up. Useless to me.

350rshp in a TPI car should be loads of fun. 350rwhp in a Z isnt nearly enough .
I've driven two TT C5's built by the same guy. All I can say is be prepared. They can get away from you real easy. Kinda scary when you are doing 60 and floor it and you're burning rubber!(actually it's kinda fun!).

468ish here and it's really easy to drive for what it is. The bigger tires help in the rain but watch out if it downshifts! (just gotta watch what you're doing on a turn, little to no gas around curves)

I haven't had any problems with mine. Idles around 750 with the cam and I get around 18ish mpg mixed. Does great on the highway, hooked up Datamaster to it once and only takes 6% throttle to do 70mph

Comparing the LT1 with the LT5 I'd have to say 350-400 HP.

On a cold day the LT1 is like the LT-5 on a warm day.

Case, I've had this problem with DVD players, and I think it's common on VCRs too. They use macrovision, which is a filter used to prevent people from making clean copies. Ones I've seen just fuck with the colors and brightness during the movie.

The TV has a macrovision decoder built into it. Your projector doesn't. I had to purchase a little black box to remove the macrovision to play movies on my projector without issues. Another option may be to run the signal through a receiver, since those tend to have macrovision decoders too. Thats why I think these security deals are total bullshit, they interfere with people that are trying to watch movies legally.

If you just need the little box, look on ebay, they're like $20.
I was just going to mention copyguard or macrovision. It's such a pain in the ass. I had a copy of "Kiss of the Dragon" and the friggin thing was so dark, I thought the entire movie was filmed at night.

I saw it on TV one day and couldn't believe it was the same.

Also, do they still make anything in Japan? Over here all we get is Chinese crap, I'd love to have something Made In Japan.

Every VCR I have gets worse as they get newer. I must have had at one time about 20 VCR's. I'm down to five in use and about 3 put away. The rest are in the dump. I had a Sharp that was basically on 24/7(between taping and then watching when I got home) for about 7 years. When it broke, I paid to have it fixed because it was the best one I ever had(for features, not pic quality or anything else).

The new ones today suck, you have to rely on teh remote to do just about everything.

Whenever you have high performance work done most shops will put on some miles to make sure the upgrades are functioning properly.

The shop owner blew it. He should have covered for his employee, saying the car was on a test drive. Insurance would have covered things and his rep wouldn't be damaged.

He has no choice but to make things whole again.

Drag race on Saturday's, either do a Sunday Cruise with other vetters or work around the house(never ends).

I used to SCUBA, but I haven't in 12 years.

Fishing and camping when I can, go karts, I have three old school R/C trucks. Atlantic City is only an hour, so is Philly and NYC. So sometimes a little day trip happens.

Then there are the times when I'm not working that I lay in bed with my woman all day and we do unmentionable things to each other(Ok, we have sex!).

Vacations are usually spent somewhere other than at home.
So far this year, I have Daytona 500, both Dover races, a Pocono race, honeymoon in Canada, Cruise In, Panama Canal reunion and hopefully a trip somewhere that requires a plane ticket and a foreign language(maybe Panama again or Costa Rica again).

You're in Costa Rica? What part?

BTW, you know I'm not promoting that place anymore.

I can fill you guys in a little on why they don't want some promotion.

According to the original owner(and now the new ones), no event can be CF sanctioned just in case something happens, they can't get the blame.

We used to use CF when we promoted an event and the past, but were told not to at some point.

Things have changed a lot and for the worst, and for once I'm glad to be on this side. It's much safer.

The semi-sealed gas cap is supposed to accomplish that. But now that you mention it I recall there being a secondary tank pressure vent on some cars. I dunno that this is it, that thing looks sealed to me, and round as if it's got a rubber diaphram in it.

While I was in there changing the brakes I removed the inner fenders/wheel wells, replaced the shocks, and checked for loose, broken parts. I also cleaned and painted the fender wells black and made a big diffrence in appearance.

That was made before VISTA. I'm sure you could add 100 more things that would go wrong with a car, including the self-destruct button.

I really feel sorry for that girl. I cannot believe the owner would let an employee use a customers car. I'm not an attorney but I believe she should be able to get more than a payoff on her car. There is a heck of a liability issue here.

If you read between the lines in that thread, you can see that it has been HEAVILY edited by the mods. Those A$$wipes are out of control over there. They are not hesitating to remove anything that is in any way derogitory toward CF or Internet Brands. What a bunch of tools!!!

Nah, you can change all the vacuum lines out without pulling anything apart, I've done in on a few L98s. There's a few HVAC lines and a cruise control line that are a bitch, but otherwise it's easy.

The only thing I ever saw CF as was a medium for corvette owners and enthusiasts to get together on and chat about their common interests, Corvettes. That is the same way I see this site. I normally don't have any interest in the drama, or the bitching. Over the years, CF has become more of a circus than anything else. Now it’s nothing more than a medium for various corporations to advertise through, and place shotty venders can sell their shitty products to newbies that don't know any better. (That comment not being directed to all venders of course). I had no problem promoting CF in the past because it was my way of meeting new people. To me it’s nothing more than a huge chat room. Since things have changed I feel differently. But what I can tell you is that I am GURU Loyal and have no problem promoting this site. Been a couple weeks now, and I haven't used

I'm guilty. I still have my little Corvette Forum window decals on the Vettes. Maybe I'll cover them with those little international symbols for NO. You know, the circle with the slash through it. Or I'll just scape them and my SCCA decals off and let my windows go naked.

I've been repairing my 96 passenger door window switch, got that replaced. Now I'm having a hell of a time getting the door panel to fit! I fit in the top edge, tuck in the wires and plugs, then put in the screws and push in the bottom buttons. The top edge towards the hinge point Pops out, and leaves a 1/"-3/8" gap? Is the panel warped, or did it shrink? I guess I could put a black screw in it to hold it down?

Oh,

Drove the car 300miles today. After about 20 mins of driving they felt like normal brakes, but they still didn't stop nearly as good as the HPS's. When I got back in the car an hour ago it was dead cold and they barely stopped again.

94 vette running PFZ pads on J55 setup. It'll put you through the windshield on the first stop. No warm up needed. I don't dislike them that's for sure. I do prefer Hawk HPS though. I also haven't driven this car in below freezing temps.

I wonder though, did you bed them in? These pads require that as do most performance pads. Maybe try that before you ditch them. If you're still not satisfied, I bet you could make AZ take them back. Sorry to hear of your troubles. It sucks having to do the job twice.

I broke them in the same way I normally break in the HPS Pads; never had a problem with those. Does anyone know the "Proper Break In Proceedure?" It would be nice to know for the future how to properly break the pads in.

I can't blame autozone for what happened. This was entirely my fault. I normally research EVERYTHING to death before I buy it. I, as most of you know, have been known to ask some of the stupidest, and simpliest questions on here and on CF. But I have to say none of the information I obtained has gone to waste. The information I have obtained and the opinions over the years have saved me thousands of $$ and made the first installation the last.

When I went into AZ I figured I was just going to by some OE parts to put onto the beater. I never imagined that ANYTHING AZ sold would be anything close to a racing product so when they suggested what I thought to be their version of a high performance pad, I figured, "how bad could it be."

You can't expect someone getting paid $10 an hour to know how everything in the store is going to work or even care for that matter. When I go into AZ I usually go in knowing exactly what I am looking for. That leaves little or no room for error; although they have still been known to screw my order up.

What I am interested to know more than anything is why PFC is selling Z rated racing pads for a 3.4L, Monte carlo, with the small brake kit, though autozone none the less???????? Makes no sense.

If I decided to swap out the pads, can anyone suggest a useable autozone pad that I could purchase in place. The car spends 90% of its time on the highway, and I usually drive 500-700 miles week at around 75-80MPH.
