Cheers to beers!

feel free to post pics of said activities, and the rest of us will sit back and have a beer while we look at them...

one day I want to have a nice garage with a 4' lift and I can have one of those cook spekledy floors, yellow walls with a waving racing flag all around, a red ceiling, aluminum diamond plate trim lights with red plexi frames, diamond plate cabinetry, a bar, nice tv, cool fridge and stools... and a nice comfy house with a pool.
And did I mention I know my way around a BBQ grill also....
aint too much I can't do including home repairs, carpet, carpentry work, drywall, etc....
so - why am I still single... maybe I'm just a snot and keep all the beer to myself?

Yep, Bill! Not only do I pay bills, I cook and clean, and fix stuff, and keep beer in a special fridge out back so you don't even have to come inside
When me and John divorced in 05 I paid his car insurance and cell for a year, I'd bought him a used SUV that he totaled, had to clean out my bank account a couple of times as he couldn't keep a job (was a shitty cop)... The first one cost me a bunch in credit card bills that I didn't know my name was on and part of a Mustang GT (apparently me buying a Vette while he was away hunting pissed him off)... the last 'involvement' was a lot of goodness all around on my part but I at least got the $1500 loan back, although obviously on the short end of the stick so to speak on other things, like all that stuff I needed done to the car.... I can thank his crack whore employee for that...

but hey...

How bout 'them Razorbacks!

Haha, I almost joined that club some dozen years ago.

But instead of marriage, I opted to skip the wedding altogether and went straight to the divorce.
I rather like our club much better!

I've been divorced twice, one live-in, I'm done raising men and paying for crap. Hurt too much afraid to date. But what's mine is mine darn it!

Ok, I chickened out on it, didn't trust myself. One glass shop here had previously told me to get hold of an upholstery shop who told me to get a new top. That's when I started looking through forums for help. I bought the Gorilla glue, then had 40k people telling me from all sides to use Rhino glue, then gorilla then back and forth and made my head hurt. I figure if it holds one in for a year, it should be fine. Well, turns out the shop I work at used to install glass, but no longer do. I didn't know this. When they quit doing it, they sent their business to the glass place across the street. Josh called that man and he came got the car and fixed it for me, no issues. Told me not to take down the top for a couple of days. It's a little thicker than I like in a couple of spots, but I'm okay with it.There's one spot on the passenger side that I might have to put a little more attention to, but he said to give it a week and see. There was no charge.

You reckon it would be cheaper to fix the AC if it was fixed in the winter? Sounds stupid but they know you have to have it in the summer. Buy a cheap window unit, then fix the biggie in the cold months? Just a blondie thought...
Not much here this weekend, had a lot on my mind lately, did manage to purchase a new gadget though.. had a cousin needing money and she turned over her tablet thingie to me for $150... did I get a good deal? I'm not an Android person, I'm a Mac....
Got this thing:

I think I'm easing up on about 105k now. It's make a Bowling Green trip and a handful to Pensacola and back and one to Nashville since August. Was supposed to go on a Rt. 66 drive this weekend but, well, you know men and their wayward cheating ways.... planning a Pensacola trip again soon though.
With my hand tremors and my recent med change for that, my 'bead' might look more like a zig zag but I'll give it a shot. We get our share of rain season, then drought here, then extreme heat, then snow. The top will stay on and under the carport for the most part. I'd like to get it done this weekend, we'll see how my mood holds up.

My rear window fell out completely. I put it back in with the Gorilla Glue about a year ago and it's holding up just fine.

Follow the instructions closely and use very sparingly. This stuff expands, so be careful. Mine bubbled out a bit on some edges; on others it came out perfect.

That link says that it dries a light tan instead of clear. Can you see that from the inside?

I thought Arkansas was the only place that happened. Couple years ago in March I was sunbathing out back on the deck and by the end of the week we had 6" of snow. And yes it will rain here and the other side of the street will be dry.
We have a saying if you don't like the weather, stay a minute it'll change...you can see all four seasons in a week here

I just realized when I said the blue/black container that they both were like that. The one I was considering was the 2nd one... the "ultra gel control"....

Ok, here's a pic, when the top is on the car, you can't tell it's loose, stays pretty tight really. When I fold the top down for storage is when I noticed it. The seal that connects to the glass is smooth and rubber of some type.

I'm definitely a rigger... That blue and black container of Locktite I have and have used for numerous other things. The flexibility and resistance to temps and impacts are what's attractive to me. I'll try to get a pic when I get home this evening of it and post. And, it's a thicker gel.

My glass is coming loose in the top, just the bottom 1/3 or so... upholstery people will tell you that it's put in there under extreme pressure conditions at the factory, bla bla bla and that you have to get a new top. Not happenin...
I did find a repair post on CF:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-ge ... ndow-how-to-refasten.html

My question:
I'm not sure about that glue - never heard of it, doesn't really say anything about extreme temps, etc.
Any other adhesive suggestions by Gurus?
I've included photos of the one in the CF thread plus two more that I found that may work, am leaning toward the Loctite in the black and blue container...

It's a thought anyway .........

Actually, coming from a woman, this is gonna sound a bit sappy - but... go to the local Hallmark store, they have a "Between You And Me" card section there - those things say all that you can't think of to say - get one of those, but take it a step further, get some nice paper and write her a letter telling her all the great memories you have of you two and how you met and all that jazz, making it a lot more personal. Enclose some little $150 necklace of some sort along with a full day at the spa gift card (those run around $200-$300 depending on services), send her away for the day. Then, she's happy - you're free to do whatever in the world you please for an ENTIRE DAY.....You both win. At the end of the day, go out for dinner have some drinks, come home, hope in the sack and.. well nevermind, you can figure out the rest....

That's cute...

Glad I drove the truck today. We were supposed to have 102 degree heat with no chance of rain. When I got here, the clouds came out and it came a gulley washer for about an hour. Still cloudy and not nearly as hot.
Then, of course, around the corner is the Chick-Fil-A crowd....

Wow! That train is amazing! I have nowhere near the patience for something of that magnitude.

I also guess I should quit whining about my bills... Rent $400, car/truck/rental insurance $189, (was cheaper till some idiot woman stopped in front of me on a dime and I couldn't avoid her) Light/water/sewer/trash around $100, Cable/internet $100, Cell $93, think that bout covers it, prop tax this time was $107.

now about this:Quote:
Many women suffering from menstrual cramps also report that naproxen is more effective than standard aspirin (but as a man, I can't really confirm that!).

I can't recall any female friends of mine that only take aspirin for that. MIDOL!!!!! No cramps, makes you pee (water weight gain is insane and makes you gripy), plus it fixes bitchiness, fatigue and all that. Helps make us normal

Looking forward to another long boring day at work. This is my slow season up there and it's hard when the owner is around. He constantly nags at you to be doing something to make money. Kinda had when there's not work. I'm taking a book to read today. I think yesterday I found the end of the internet 14 times. At least I'm indoors in the air conditioning. Was about 100 again here today, projected for that again today also.
Have a good day, all.

Seems like a lot of bad shit going on right now and its easy to get discouraged but you gotta look to what is right in your life and thank the Lord for what you got.

Stay out of trouble Guru's.....

We're under a drought warning, then it rained nicely for about four days in a row, now it's back up to 100+.All my stuff I got excited and planted has either died or stopped in it's tracks. Heck, even the one house plant that was doing nicely is half dead. My tomatoes wont' get any bigger, they stay small then ripen. My blooming plants that are in the shade are even dying no matter how much I water them. There's some money down the toilet. My yard is brown also but keeps it from having to be mowed. I'm tired of trying. Those that grow things around here are having a hard time. I've seen one really nice corn field, no telling what that guy spends on it. Most around here the ears are small and hardly any kernels in there.
I don't understand all the bad things going on lately, either. Issues in my personal life are enough then every single time I look on the computer, turn on the tv or open the newspaper or listen to the radio, some bad thing has happened somewhere. Is there any good left amymore?

Fixt it for ya.

It has become apparrent, the older you get the stronger your opinions. You are also swayed less by what others think of you. I guess thats's why it's said, later in life you can count your true friends on one hand. I hope you get over it and move on quickly. Worry is a waste of time and energy.

Do you see how this all works? I'm a year older now so I can say this shit.

Thank you. this will be very hard.

Geez Letty, to much drama...hope you are ok. I tried all kinds of protein drinks and energy bars that look a lot like candy bars. Then I ran onto the Coconut thing....ok my Mom sent me an article on it.....it is supposed to help with short term memory loss also and the older you get the more you fight that. So I tried some, like 2 tablespoons a day with my porrage every morning. Seems to work for me. Health food stores pure organic...pricey but lasts a long time.

You can google it, tons of info.

drama.. yup lots of it - you have noooooo idea.. But hey, it'll all be good. It was a situation I had no business in anyway, I'll be better off.
I made a couple of people look like asses during part of it that was kinda fun tho

I'll look into the oil. Anything to help. I guess I'm just getting old?

Had a cloud come up earlier left about three sprinkles and faded away. Figures. We really need rain here.

Happy Birthday, Tommy !

Been hot here, back up over 100 last couple days, then out of nowhere I"m looking at a rain cloud. Probably just a teaser.

Does coconut oil really give you energy? I need energy bad. Been hid out - had a really bad bust up with someone Monday and not been myself and that makes me lose sleep, not eat and then I have no energy. Didn't have much to start with, then gym took what little I did have.

Maybe Friday will bring some relief

had some rain here - we've been under a drought, funny this is the rainiest drought I've ever seen. We had a couple weeks of dustballs, then it's rained here and there nearly every day.
And, I learned how to make the sun come out. I pulled out the Vette after about 3 weeks of sitting to wash it. They have construction going on behind us and it looked like a mud ball. Well, soon as I got it out the rain came. So... I packed up all my mess and put it back under the carport, but then said - heck no, I'm gonna do this, then even if it rains or they keep constructing stuff I can cover it and it'll still be clean. I started washing it while it was under the carport and lo and behold the sun is out and it's beautiful outside

I agree, I don't understand spending thousands on a stupid dress that you wear for a little while, whereas I can find the identical looking one for $99. My first wedding was a church deal, bridesmaids in matching dresses and crap, my first wedding his too so it was kind of expected. My second, we just wanted to pay $500 and have it all done for us on a cruise ship or the beach or something but his mother insisted. So, I rented 100 white chairs for next to nothing, I got a couple cases of champagne, made an elegant 'bottle cover' since it was at a state park, outside under the shade trees and was beautiful. My ivory dress was a $60 markdown from $300 at a Dillards' closeout store, his tux was cheap, the police dispatcher made our cake as a gift, mom got one of those table long subway sandwiches and a bunch of food and we had some classical music playing. Was a gorgeous afternoon and everyone had a nice buzz, took me about a week to do all that all by myself, and I made my own bouquet and all of it, even the little bottles of bubbles everyone had fun with, made my own labels and all that crap. Still would rather have gone to the beach or something.

I get tired of doing crap alone, so I've just gotten to where I sit home and look at four walls. Don't like that, either.
Occasionally I'll go to the local mall or Wal-Mart and people watch. I swear all those folks on 'peopleofwalmart.com have been in our local store here.
Oh, and by the way - I found that picture of the t-shirt I mentioned yesterday that conceals y'all butt cracks...

Would been interesting to see how that happened.
I been up since 7 for no apparent reason. Working out in the heat the last three days got to me and I'm pretty run down today, got out and picked up my meds, returned a shop vac I borrowed, grabbed some groceries and back home. Nap in a few... supposed to rain here today , 60% chance - been looking like the sky could fall any minute - sure would be nice if it rained a couple hours while I napped

Casey used to be a mod here, I am sure you all remember him.

However, Casey lives near the ever-growing flooded region of Australia. He is in the Brisbane area. I can't say where, but it is rural.

The bottom line is thus, he does not have internet like he used to, so I can't just email or PM him. I don't have a phone number.

What I am asking is that we all keep him in our thoughts as his part of Australia gets pummled.

The floods are violent and deadly. Many folks have died already.

If I hear from him, I will update accordingly.

I just chatted with Casey.

He is OK! His house is out of town and on top of a small mountain/hill thing. In other words, he is high and dry!

Yes, the floods are bad. But where he is, all is well!!

I used to hear from him pretty regularly then little to nothing. My last email to him went unaswered.

Amazon pisses me off too, you can do a search for something on Google shopping and it will say free shipping and when you click the item, shipping is way $$$.. I was totaling an order for this pool, thankfully don't need all the stuff I thought but for a $100 order shipping was over $40. Bullshit ripoff...

shipping charges are about the same as repair bills... I have a pool part I need that costs $1.42. Shipping was over $8.....
I have an issue with my washer now also, I'm not about to ask to get that fixed, I'll deal with it.
