Speaking of shows from bygone years.. when I was about 6.. why was it that my mother would let me know when it was time to watch All in the Family, but when the show Maude came on afterward I was sent to bed. I was told that 'an impressionable little girl don't need to watch Maude"... WTH? But racist, cussing Archie Bunker was okay????

I'm up early, rather still be in bed, didn't sleep worth a crap.. tried my bed, the back bedroom bed, the couch... Goldilocks just couldn't get comfy anywhere... but - I promised my trainer I'd be in at 8:30 for cardiofit class and be back at 2:30 for my personal time slot. I'm pretty sure I'll regret this later.....
At least I got the car cleaned yesterday so that's one thing off today's list I don't have to worry with... Have a good day all

But, drove the vette in the pouring rain and it's now nasty - I'll buy beer for whoever would be so kind to clean it

Someone remind me again why the doctors tell us that "cold weather don't cause colds/sickness/flu.. etc..??? Why is that the only time I get sick, then? Had sinus mess for the third time this past weekend, still lingering today. Started Wednesday night. Why can't there be a vaccine for this stuff like there is flu shots and crap? And to think it was a nice, spring like weekend here, temps in 60s and sunny and I missed all of it

I'm in the sunbed daily or outside during warmer seasons - another 'vice' I suppose....

Sorry to hear of your rental issues, Tommy. Me and the ex had some lower income rental houses and here in Arkansas, I swear every time someone moves out you have to rebuild the place and get rid of roaches. Never seen anything like it here. People leave places trashed. I always clean up if I move.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Nice weather here last couple days but didnt' get the car cleaned. Just been to the gym, work and home.

I'm a Mac person but am forced to use a PC with Win7Ultimate at the job. FWIW - I HATE THAT CRAP. I also learned when my drives took a crap twice in 6 months - whatever Raid is on those drives I asked it not to be done to the new set. I lost a bunch of stuff. Got about half back. Are all PCs this unreliable?

Hope everyone had a great new year's.
I ended up getting the oil changed in the C5, then something called an oil pressure sending switch... makes my gauge read right. Got in it the other day and got excited when it hit 80 till I figured out it was 'stuck' and something wasn't right. Apparently the average oil pressure for the '02 isn't what it was in the '96. Still learning things... had some pizza and a beer with a friend, then another girlfriend came over and bawled all night about her boyfriend being a jerk. Nice.

Great, I just switched from Safeco to State Farm. Had an accident year and half ago, got four points on my record for something I couldn't help. Cop knew it, said so yet cited me anyway. Only about $4000 in claims between two cars, the one I was driving was totaled for only $2000. Ins only went up $14/mo for that and then when I got the '02 magically all of a suddden, it shows up on my record. Hasn't been there all this time, I get those little letters every six months telling me they've checked my record. Now it's there and Safeco bumped me up to their highest risk category for that one thing after years of nothing. State farm came in $30/mo less for the same coverage. I'd heard horror stories from the State Farm group in the next town over but was recommended by a friend to the guy here. Turns out I went to school with him.
I guess let's just hope nothing happens to me for a while...

Strange on this end weather wise - below freezing at night and warm and sunny during the day. Christmas Eve dinner at my aunts was cancelled - her husband had a heart attack early this morning, had to have 5 stents, he'll be locked up till Tuesday. Geez... My aunt's a wreck...
got invited to a party last night, couple other folks there I was told had been to the place running their mouth about me, when they asked why I wouldn't say hello - well, I very nicely pissed in a couple people's cheerios... then some other mess with someone I'd been seeing involving securing a rent house for a woman that works for them, couple lies here and there and I pissed in some more cheerios and had one more glass of Apple Moonshine and left quietly. Obviously missing my mother, father and others this holiday, spending the holidays here at the house. Been a bbq beer kinda day and will be tomorrow. Started back at the gym and all my friends got me, guees what for Christmas? Did the girlie thing yesterday, got up and had previously found a two year old gift certificate from an ex to a local spa, went and got a facial and microdermabrasion. Guys if you are at a loss for something for your wife, may I suggest a spa gift certificate. That whole mess was only about $100 and took at least 5 years of my facial features! Came home, had a short nap, did some laundry, went and hit the gym, got the nails done and had Chinese with a girlfriend. Hit the gym again this morning, put on a suntan, finished some laundry, plan to clean up the truck and then I have a Christmas party tonight with a girlfriend of mine. Her boyfriend bailed on her and she asked me to go. Free steak dinner at the Elk's lodge and three free drinks from the bar. The ex will be there with his live in he left me for so I'm looking forward to being all dolled up and having a helluva night! Good day all

We have those DWI devices here. Most folks simply get a friend to blow in it for them to start the car. Still a PITA.
Another day another dime... was sleeping too good for a change to want to come to work. Why is that? Can't sleep on the days off but come work time I finally fall out and then have to drag me out of bed.

My neurologist has prescribed me a number of things that all make me sleep but I can't handle the hangover of some of them and there's a couple that makes my depression worse. I think the Celexa I'm on is responsible for some of the horrible dreams I wake up with. Some I'm sure I am not remembering but I'm sure it all affects my sleep, which in turn makes me tired all day and that dont help with depression either.

But what's a French Meat Pie?
I didn't get to get the vette out. Got busy planting the monkey grass and some bulbs I had, repotted a plant, took down the screen house gazebo the two snows we had clobbered. I need about three parts and it'll be good as new. Attempted to go to the store and misplaced they keys, they'd been outside all day on the railing by the car. I even looked in the fridge, the trash and everything for over an hour and gave up. Neighbor lady that looks after me came over and went right to them. Shit, it's strange when people know you that well but I"m glad. Got the dishes and laundry done and had a beer and nice warm bowl of chili.

If anyone can get me insurance for less than $400 a year for my Vette please call me!
Hell, with my Vette, the rental insurance and the pickup truck, I'm about at $180/month. Was about $120/mo but they discovered I totaled a $500 Hyundai a year and half ago and it added FOUR points on my record. The company I was with forever for that moved me to high risk. Other companies I've looked at are quoted similar. Any of the 'specialty' insurances won't even return an email to me.

In my area we have 'volunteer' services also. Somewhere they get a small grant for it, but the firemen are volunteers. There are always fundraisers and such for them and people usually do what they can to help. works quite well here.
but - if you're living in a mobile cause you can't afford anything else, then you do what you have to do. $75 for an entire year IMHO isn't much. $75 a month is different. My father only received $650 per month on disability/social security and he had to pay rent, groceries and you name it, plus his part of his medical care for heart failure and lung cancer out of that. Needless to say, he ended up moving in with us, he couldn't afford to live alone. But on a related rant regarding the post of "supposed it happened with a cigarette"... well if they quit damned smoking (assumption), that's at least $5 a day that could be put to fire/rental insurance. My policy is small and it costs me around $30/month. Beats nothing.

I am in between on this. Small yearly fee for such valuable service. However -
This line got me too: "Who's job is it to check the payment list on the way to the fire?" They stop what they are doing and check some list before responding? I also agree with Bill: "Put the fire out and send a bill" Then if they don't pay the bill, cite them and take them to court, make them may payments, whatever...

Good late afternoon all - hope you've had a good weekend. I've not done crap except put up my elderly cousin's Christmas mess Friday. Bah Humbug. I'm not participating this year. I might get a 2 inch tree at the dollar store or something, not dragging that nine-footer out and all the crap that goes with it. I might have Santa pissing off the roof or something.... up till 4am today watching cartoons and having Miller Lite. Did the grocery store bit earlier I HATE shopping
growl. Just come off a 5-inch snow way out of season for here, now it's three days of cold ugly rainy weather. I think I'll hold the couch town tomorrow in case it tries to run off.... Took a helicopter ride Friday also - that was a blast... never been in one of those but I've decided I realllllllly want one Oh Santa.....

Wonderful news, Ron!
I have a friend with a black rose - it's very pretty. Woke up to snow this morning.Growl.... was supposed to be sunny today through Friday. Figures. It's now gonna be about 30 and snowed all day today and it's still coming down. I HATE this crap. Some folks around here I guess put up their cars but I usually don't. January is when it gets really cold here but then it warms up pretty fast. This mess in November is odd. But then again, I've been out back sunbathing in March and a week later we had 6 inches of snow. This is Arkansas, if you don't like the weather, stand around a minute, it'll change. You can literally see all four seasons here in a week. I saw the snow and got back in bed, got up later and it was still at it so I did my chores, then came home and got the house cleaned and made that bbq spaghetti Hope you all had a good Monday.

We're in the middle of three straight days of rain here. The vette is all clean and covered it was supposed to be beautiful weather today through Friday and I'd planned to get it out a while. Growl... I guess it's stay in and do housework day

I hit one sale this morning, the local Fred's store had small heaters that look like a little black wood burning stove - my bedroom heater just konked out so since it was only $49 instead of $79 and the one I was about to buy was $39... what the heck. I got there just in time for the door to be unlocked, not a crowd at all, calmly got my heater, shopped some more and left. Got an invite to a friend's house for 1pm holiday lunch, went there, then came home and napped for a couple hours, then drove to the next town to take my elderly cousin some cheesecake I'd made and some of my deer jerky. She loves that stuff. She'd made me some things as well. Came home and the lady across the street figured I'd need supper so she had me a plate ready with turkey, dressing, mac and cheese and green beans. Groovy. I'm all set.

Bah humbug....
Got a last minute invite to some friend's for turkey day - really wasn't in the mood for turkey... was gonna wash the vette, clean the house, do laundry, sit around and have a bbq-beer-tv kinda day. Many thanks to my friends though for thinking of me. I've now made two cheesecakes, got the stuff ready for the swiss/parmesan cheese bread I make. Gonna hit one sale in the morning, take a nap, eat, then home and relax. have to work Friday
