Beautiful sunny day here, due at the gym in about an hour. Trying to have some coffee and wake up. Got some freelance work to do today for a pet calendar for my old office and then start a veteran's book for the paper in the next town over. Got some clothes and laundry that still need done and a bathroom to clean. But, at least the vette is cleaned. My neighbor across the street is a jailer at county and he gets his truck detailed for $20 by the 309s up there, I'm gonna let him take mine in a day or two. They do a great job on his.

Congrats on the game wins, moving completions and that train is cool! I can't even muster up the gumption to clean the vette much less tackle any of that other stuff. If it doesn't rain I do plan to get the car cleaned today and some dishes and laundry done. My offer is still open for a trade for a nice husband or live in to do some vette baths, yard mowing and oil changes and dishes in exchange for some good southern cooking, room and board....

Makes me glad to have an older vehicle now...

Well if I had a garage and was at home, I'd probably be in mine too. I'm at work hoping the day goes by fast. Have a freelance project - a pet calendar - I'm in the middle of at home, plus meeting the publisher of the paper in the next town over Friday to pick up another project. Good thing, those LED tail lights are expensive!

Ugh... no sleep last night, loud crashing ear piercing thunder and lightning most of the night. Therefore, was very tired in gym this morning... mite be a nap in my future.

I ended up going back to bed for a while. Got back up around 9 and got busy in the house all day long. Rearranged some furniture and moved some other stuff around, almost caught up on laundry. Was a dreary day here again. I'm tired of it. It would be cool and breezy one minute with a heavy mist or light rain, then it would be hot, no breeze and humid as hell. Back and forth. Made myself some Rotel chicken for supper
Guess the vette will get a clean up tomorrow since it couldn't be done today.

If I manage to stay awake I'll do some house work, otherwise I'll hit the couch

Just got up here, gloomy outside, don't do much for my mood. Wanted to get the car cleaned up really nice. There's a red bar under the back end that looks brown it's dirty under there. Not in the mood for much. today. Need to go pay my cover charge at Wal-Mart and the grocery store.....

I'll have to listen to that song at home. For some reason the work 'puter won't handle it. Our internet hasn't worked right in a couple of days here. woke up to muggy and rainy weather this morning, wanted to stay in bed, didn't have any work to do at work anyway. Came on it and whaddya know - I've been busy ever since. Supposed to pick up a MAF sensor for the vert after work, got to the bank, invited to a body wrap party and a kickboxing class.... geez...

Good to know. I have an elderly relative home alone. She only uses a land phone. I only use the cell. Looking into getting her a private cell number.
I never answer an unknown number. I assume if they dont' leave me a message it's probably a salesman or a scam of some sort.

Dump the sand in my yard. That way, when more BS comes my way I can bury my head in it and hide...

Supposed to be my day off, supposed to go to the gym, well - gym double booked and ended up being at work for half of day. sux. Rather be anywhere else. Managed to lose my front air dam last night on the C5 and the one who bought the C4 already has the motor out of it doing a total rebuild. Ugh.... the drama....

Seriously, I've done absolutely nothing for the last few days, supposed to go to a friend's house and swim today but I woke up to a brisk 65° in the house and outside. What a huge switch from our 100° days here.
I really need to fix the headlight in the vette and mow the yard, clean the house, pick up a few things from the store, sweep the deck.... and there's only one beer in the fridge

Intended to try and do some things today, but about the time I got motivated it started raining. To heck with it, I'm on the couch with a slice of pizzza and a beer, the Texas Rangers are on tv and the windows are open. I feel a nap coming on....

Don't worry about 'abusing your car'... it's a Vette isn't it? Isn't that what they were MADE for? Fast driving, hard cornering, racing....
The sister to the dude that bought my car bitched him out for getting it. "I know how she drove that car"... she can kiss my fat white ass. Yes I had my foot in it - it's a CORVETTE.... not a CHEVETTE.....
Anyway, I got 250 ,000 miles out of her and spent $5000 over last three years keeping her in good shape replacing a lot of things and when the new owner got her, she STILL runs better than most any C4 you will plant your butt in and has the tighest front end of any of them. Suck on that, lady!

A bit cloudy here, I guess the rain off Irene is headed my way. Glad to hear some damage was minimal although some still are without power. Was a beautiful weekend here so I did nothing, guess I need to get busy and get crap done today.

I'm not sure what he has under there but it had to be modified to fit the Tiger Shark backend. Everyone else tells me they like the sound. Just I'm not used to it. Except when I nail it and go reallllllly fast, then I like it. Sounds better with the top out.

Steve - the differences are indeed there and something that will take me a little work to get used to.
Noises - After you spend 12 years and put 248,000 miles on one car, you get to know every tiny sound it makes and what it means. This one sounds nothing like the C4 and I'm still trying to figure those things out.
Exhaust is also way different. Other one had a Magnaflow and I loved it. Loved the sound, this one sounds totally different. Not sure I like it, we'll see.
Handling - Like the C4 better in grabbing curves. In hard curves the C4 squats and grabs with no body roll. The C5 has slight body roll I"m not used to adn it's a little unnerving to me still.
Speed - The C5 has a cam in it but the stock stall was left. I plan to change that. But when you nail it or when you hit about 85 you'd better be holding on. Like something out of nowhere propels it on. makes you smile. The faster I go in the C5 the 'lighter' it feels. Opposite to the C4.
Sitting in the 96 and starting her up, hearing the sound and 'feeling' it all - kinda like sitting in a 1970s hot rod... sitting in the C5 and starting it and the 'feeling' is more like a Beemer or Lexus or something. Complete different feel and that is the main thing I'll miss. Makes me want to go out and buy and old Chevelle or something.
Comfortability - still messing with all that. I swear I change the seat inflation and position every time I get in it. Right now I miss my C4 seat but I'll get acclimated to this one soon enough. I do like the 'trunk' storage. I can fit all kinds of stuff in there and there's little compartments to hide things.
Ride height - The nose of that don't drag the ground either like I'd have expected even with that Tiger Shark kit on there. I've found I can clear things with the front of the C5 that the C4's air dam would drag on. The fin on the back and rollbar inside pretty much makes a rear view mirror useless though.
I do like the telescoping wheel. I had missed that in the C4. The '87 however, had one. The '96 didn't.
there will be some black touch ups and 'personalization' details forthcoming.
I'm not a fan of cleaning cars either and now this one is such that I have to keep the INSIDE of the rims wiped out. PITA!
The heads up display is still a nuisance also but when I get used to it, I'm sure I'll like it.
This one is also Pewter and seems way easier to look clean as opposed to the black on the other one.
Now - if I could take the things I like about the C4 and C5 and combine them, It would be literally perfect!
Then I guess they'd call that a ZR1?
Overall - I like it. I would have liked to have kept them both.
Trying to decide now on some black accents for the hood and/or sides of the car. Have something in mind for the rear already. And, other friends are tossing ideas my way for vanity plates, not sure if I'll do that or not.

That's kinda cool. I never thought about that kind of usage for those, but it does make quite a lot of sense, actually.
Sooooo.... let's see.... what else can we use, say... rubbers for?????

Filled out the paperwork for the dude that bought the black cantankerous teenager beotch last night and he came got her.
I will miss her. January will have made 12 years that I've had her. As he got in the car he had a huge smile on his face.. said "I can't believe I now have a Corvette" .. started her with a loud thunder and when he left the parking lot he dug in with all he had and she laid rubber down all the way out....
I'll miss her... And lo and behold today while I was out cruising in the 'new to me' Corvette.. what so happened to pass right before me.... the '96!!!!! my chest got tight... I followed her gaze all the way from left to right till she was out of sight... damn.

Matt - for the fevery baby... pile up in bed with very warm fluids, keep covers on, give a cool bath with a rag soaked in alcohol, then put baby back in comfy cotton jammies... cover up, KEEP covered up and feed very warm soup... fever will break. When the sweating starts, keep the covers on... grammaws don't lie ..... I'm not a granny but even in my 20s when I got sick that's where I headed...

Not to be personal but in a time of necessity, I was given one at work one time - "wings" and all... what the hell????
I went into the restroom, and immediately came back out and went back in with a pair of scissors. Just what the hell is all that shit for??? And I'm a WOMAN asking this! That damned thing looked like one of those bandages you see on a newborn when the umbilical cord gets cut.

I really have no plans this weekend. Need to put some furniture in my new screen house out back, clean the inside of the vette, housework is all caught up. Hope everyone has a great one.

I'd not. I told him, "no that would be kinda gross - besides - did you ask me that because I purchased panty liners also that would be going into my purse?"..... The checkout kid stuttered a lot and apologized profusely. The kid bagging dropped what he was holding and covered his mouth with both hands and turned around to keep from laughing out loud.
I couldn't help myself. It just rolled straight out of my mouth and I was poker faced as I could be.
I grabbed my stuff, gave the grocery bagging kid a smile and wink and calmly walked out of the store and laughed like hell when I got into the car
