Evening all.. been a long hot day here too, supposed to be hotter tomorrow. I dread seeing what August here is like this year. Been having trouble sleeping took something last night and I'm still sleepy from it. Got out and ran a couple errands, got a couple bids on the car from some wholesalers, I countered. Came home and tried to sleep and couldn't, but been up doing some freelance work and managed to get the dishes all washed. Bout to go see what I can find for dinner...

I'm just now getting to watch my tv... tried to sleep late, been waking up a lot during the night. We've had storms here also.. one per day... sun will be out and hot as hell, then it rains a monsoon then it's sunny and steamy with humidity of around 3 million or so. Was a lazy day, but been rearranging the house, got a lot of that done tonight, waiting on the last load of laundry. Even actually cooked dinner. Got some bad news this weekend so kinda stayed to myself except for a short run to a cousin's house yesterday for a pool dip.

Found a dead coon in my garbage bucket yesterday morning. he was about half grown, guess he got in there and couldn't get out. One down five to go.
It's stupid hot here and due for a whole nuther week of 100 degree very humid mess.
Vette seems to be running well after the top end redo, got a little lifter issue but I'll live with it for now. For some reason though my AC keeps blowing fuses. Due at the shop at 1 to get that looked at, then a new windshield and she's ready to go. I mean literally... started an ad in the paper this week to sell it. The more I drive it now after the repair the more I want to keep it, but I've had it 11 years, it's somebody else's turn.

Ugh... this is my "Monday" at work.... drove the vette. Neighbor lady is hard up for cash and I happen to hate washing a car and mowing a yard. So... a gallon of milk and some soap for the store since she knew I was going, and $25 to boot and that's all taken care of. Car hasn't been that clean in 6 months. I keep blowing air conditioner fuses though. Seems the only problem I have with this whole mess. I'm guessing I have a wire either not tight or pinched?

Worked in the shop today with the person helping me with the car and got it done this afternoon finally. Managed to bust the windshield in the process but it needed another anyway. Just wasn't wanting it to come out of my pocket. Car still needs some tweaks but started right up, white smoke disappeared quickly and ran fine. I'm so glad to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Morning all, still into my coffee and it ain't workin' yet.
That C5 I'm considering compared to the C4 is tons different. First, I like my C4 seat much better. Much more comfy and it took some adjusting in the C5 to get the height of the seat in relation to the floorboard higher. I know the car as a whole sits lower but the seat was slammed to the floor. I like my legs to bend a little. took me four hours of my nine hour drive to figure out 'comfortable'. On cornering and road grip, I felt more planted in my C4. Seems the faster I got in the C5 I felt like it was gonna just fly off the road or something. Seemed very light. My C4 feels stuck to the pavement and the faster you go in the curve, the more planted she gets. I iddn't care for the sound of the 'custom' exhaust in it either, I have Magnaflow in the C4. I like the sound and I do not have the 'drone' that others complain of. I hear it when I want to. Oh well. Speaking of the HMCTB...

That's all that's keeping me from being done with it. Can't find one. As far as 'replacements' from the parts store - seems with that engine and year model there's a 'gap' in manufacturing. Ecklers don't have one either. Says mine is 'discontinued'....

There's one that's mainly in question, I don't have it here to show you a photo, but it looks like a hose support or something. It's all metal, 90 degree bend with a part that looks like where a hose would rest on or up against. That help?

Was hoping to find a pool someplace to get into but looking more like a quiet day at the house. Made myself some Tuna salad with some hickory smoke flavored tuna and a new recipe I invented. That stuff rocked! I need to write down what I did.
Thinkin' I'll go sit out on the front porch in my newly painted and cushioned front porch swing and listen to the water in my new fountain out there with a cold Corona and take a nap.

I'd be a lot less stressed if I had NO speeding ticket and I COULD find an oil dipstick tube. That kept me from gettin' done today

Ron, rant all you need to, lessons need to be taught. Our nail salons have the vietnamese working in them also. A man I used to see would crawl my ass every time I went to get my nails done. I was mad at this point. I told him, look I know the law, I was not paying attention to my speed and no my insurance card is out of date but I can look my account up on my iPhone if you prefer so you can see it... I was married to a cop I know what the laws are and I do understand you must do your job. But, yes, that's me on my license, and yes I live in the ghetto and then he had the nerve to ask WTF I did for a living. NOne of your @*^#@*&#^@*&#^ business I wanted to say but I was nice and told him - "i freelance at home doing design work and have a day job three days a week designing vehicle wraps and I jsut completed all YOUR department's D.A.R.E. vehicles as well as your Special Olympics Police Department's torch run trailer.....

Geez what a day.... made it to the shop about 12:30, got air in truck RE-done, thanks O' Reilly... growl.... then dude welded a nut to my stuck rounded head bolt, that didn't help, then spent forever drilling it out. Only to find out I need a new head on that side. I cried. Before I even got home, he called said he found me a head, free... wow... and on top of that didn't even ask me to pay him for all his trouble to day plus he brought ME lunch! Guess it's been a good day?

I slept in late too... had a ton of shit to do and my schedule has been all jacked. Due to run errands yesterday, new air compressor on truck has wrong pulley so I spent half an hour unwinding part of my belt from the fan shaft. Gotta get that all redone today. Supposed to have been working on getting my house in order today NOT messing with car/truck BS. Also have freelance work to do. This house looks like something straight out of hoarders, trying to 'rearrange' the rooms and have shit everywhere except where it's supposed to be. I'm tired of tripping over crap. Guess it'll wait yet another day. Was hoping for at least a weekend of not working on something

The Bible is God's word and meant to be taken as law, above state, city or man's ideals for what law should be. He puts things very plain in there, no wiggle room. Every single thing you can imagine, you can find your answer there... including the fact that what he says goes NOT what society says. And, that there are temptations and tests of faith which all give our spirituality a chance to grow. It also says that he gave us ALL the right to make our own decisions right or wrong, which in turn, do affect others - including our children and how they come up in the world.
Now - do two men freak me out? Hell yes. Gross. Ewww....... And I've had gay friends and thought the world of them. Is is a personal decision or genetics? Depends on the case. There are dna fuck-ups that happen and create a whole mess of things including 'man being born in woman's body' crap and so forth. No different than other genetical birth defects such as missing fingers. That's simply science - it happens. There are also those who live that lifestyle by 'choice'. Whatever makes them happy it's not my business to interfere, other than what God says is pray for them, invite them to church, etc.

I grew up watching Archie Bunker and you know what a cussing racist he was. I thought that was normal. Now do we still tell racial jokes? Sure, she has some 'whitey' jokes of her own. We laugh at it all.
What we must do as christian adults or otherwise moral people is know right from wrong, ask for the Lord's help in our guidance of our children, do our best and hope like hell it works and they, themselves become good moral people with great contributions to society. IF it don't... we'll as a parent it's not your fault. You child will grow up to be an adult with a fully functioning adult mind capable of making his/her own decisions as God intended and the cycle starts over. You do the best you can. And, as freedom of choice given to us by God - we have the right to change the channel but not the right to "FORCE" our views upon another, but merely 'suggest, witness, invite to worship, etc."

It's sooooooooooooo nice having the air in my truck again. Got that done for $80 last night (not counting parts). The GM mechanic does night work on the side for about half at the dealership. He tried getting my head bolt out also but said it's not coming out unless it's cut or heated out. Told me what to do. If I could just get that one damned bolt out I could get it the rest way apart and taken to the machine shop, then get back together. Want it done so I can sell it. I want to buy the one I drove to Pensacola recently.
This is gunna be a long day at the job.. . not even been here an hour yet and it seems like it should be noon or something already

I'd like to be driving mine too. Had a trip planned to Bloomington gold and now can't go. Don't have the money. Sure i could ride with someone or share a room, not much fun in that. Car didn't get done yesterday. One problem after another gave up early. The air still needs fixed in the truck also. Hoping to get that done in a day or two. Already been to the gym and bout to have lunch then rest a bit and run errands.
I keep my 'need to get' list in my phone. I always have it with me so when I think of something I can just make a note in htere or add it to a note I already have going...

I"m makin my list of stuff I need. I sure do dread the hell out of this. I feel like somebody beat the heck out of me. Gonna go ahead and take down my side today and replace both gaskets to be more safe than sorry. There's no way in hell I could have ever done this by myself, but I've done 'my half' of it. I can assure you if I encounter this again, hopefully not, I will hire it done. But, I have gained a lot of knowledge and am grateful for that. And have a new respect for C4 mechanics and know now why they hate working on them. You can't hardly get your hands in there for nothing.
I rate this as a 12 on the 1 to 10 pain in the ass list....

Very humid and hot here today and then it rained a monsoon for a few minutes then hot and steamy all over again.
Ex showed up and helped me with the car today, he took one side and I took the other. All the plugs on my side were dry, the back one on his side came out wet.
Tore it all apart and is a gasket on the driver's side. Gonna replace both sides anyway.. Waaaayyyy too many miles on this not to. But, I understand now why mechanics hate to work on C4s and I have a newfound respect for them. This was a huge pain in the ass and I will never, ever offer to help with this job again and hope I never have to cross that bridge again. I've never done this before and was happy to be where I could get it done for zero labor cost and learn something in the process, including winning the lottery and hiring it done!
Will mess with it some more tomorrow.

Oh... and shall I add that I came home and cooked dinner....
good grief, I'm tired!

Don, thanks for the mojo - I'll need it. The biggest thing I've done so far is change out my radiator and then other small things. I ended up ducking out of doing the starter. Not cause I tried to but cause while I was on my weekend hiatus, the guy that has my car was nice, got parts and did it for me. MUCH appreciated. Actually taking off heads and mess scares the shit out of me but I'm not afraid to tackle it with help right there. And, Matt I'd be up for a 'mod' party myself. I'm sure I could learn a lot from you guys, but I'd also probably be one of the "6 standing around drinking beer"....
Been a hairy day at the office thus far as well. Hope that's not an indication of the rest of my four days off.
