I love that 2nd sailboat photo!!!! Awesome. I just returned from a long drive again also. Just over three hours one way to Mountain Home then right back, then to another nearby town to see mother, all yesterday. Then took afternoon off to rake up the equivalent of 30 bags of leaves and burn them. UGH!
I'm beat. On a lighter note, got the Magnaflows installed today.... WHOOOOEEEEEE!!!

Holy cow! That's a ton of damage for a deer.... And, by hitting the corner like that, takes out everything seems like. Does your state make any allowances for those type of incidents? Some states will pay the damage if a game warden is contacted I've heard, not sure if that's true.

Had a great time getting away from everything this weekend and getting the vette out finally after nearly three months. Very pretty area at Eureka Springs, historic part of town to see, caves, the HUGE Jeebus (posted last year), and they have the Corvette Weekend there each year the first weekend in October (missed it). Took tons of pics... here's a few:
Some scenic shots, some at local Beaver Lake:        Some of the car traveling and at the car wash...     And not sure what the hell this is, but it was kinda goofy yet cool....  Some funny stuff:    Hot sauces:  White trash cookbook:  Food Was good!! Chocolate covered twinkie: (in addition to $30 of chocolate truffles)  A Great philly cheese at a local biker bar:  And, ate at - yes you read it right - the ROADKILL CAFE! You should read the menu!!! And, get this, its BYOB!  And, you honk this for the waitress, who by the way, wears shorts, a tshirt and a toolbelt for her uniform...  This was on display:  I had a buffalo dog:  The inside: (notice the deer butt)  And, here's a idea for your garage for those used vette tires - a shelf...

He discussed letting me come up there to strip them and redo the original wheels until I can get the ones I've picked out. There's also a couple of other touch up things that he needs to do. The exhaust is due in Friday so that will be going on pretty soon as well. Whooo!
And, I drove the hell out of it this weekend. Ran off for the weekend for a 4.5 hour drive to Eureka Springs. Nice!

I woke up about 3am Saturday morning, showered, threw together some clothes and drove 4 1/2 hours to Eureka Springs to get away for the weekend and see the fall colors and such... Just got back about 1 today. Took a ton of photos, here's a sunset and a couple of the little miss....

The rims have the clear peeling off and up close really look awful. I refinished that targa top and am extremely proud of how it turned out. I can finally see through it!!!! After all these years! And the trim - well, while he would be working on the car, I'd be there working on sanding the trim around the windshield and top. Also, got a new shift plate, boot, new brackets for holding the top in the rear hatch area and those new neoprene seat covers. Darn near like a new car. And yes, I'd like to get that back end lowered, hate that gap there. I do have some rims picked out but all things in due time. And, I've discovered baby wipes for stashing in the car to take care of those bird poop spots and little spills inside the car .
I'm so happy to have my own car back I could just shit... Oh, and Santa..... I've got a couple of things to add to that list...

Vette is home !!
But, unfortunately, there's nothing like a new paint job to make your shitty rims look even worse! But, I will either try to collect some cash for some new ones or he said some Saturday we can redo mine. But, soon as I got it back to work and got in and sat down, three people came and told ne I need to move it, that it's covered in bird shit. Turns out I parked under our tower anetenna and the birds roost there and sure enough COVERED in SHIT! So I went to move it, wouldn't start. UGH! Turns out, it was just a loose cable on the neg battery terminal. Exhaust will be here in about a week then that will be done. These aren't great but I was kind in a hurry...

Actually, I'm happy to say that I've found a couple of honest people to do service work for me for honest prices. The dealership is a good place to get effed though... They took my vette one time to change out the ignition switch, 2.5 hour job, ended up charging me 5 hours, plus put 400 miles on my car and it came back with a bent tie rod. I might be pissing off the purists also, but I've found a couple of small garages that do great work for me and way cheaper prices and don't mess me around. It also don't help to have a friend that owns a parts store

Mine went out last year. The shop dude told me he thought I was capable of doing it considering other things I've taken a stab at. He showed me how. Then told me if I wanted him to do it, it would be $125 for the part and another $125 for the labor. I paid him and asked him to give me a ride back to work. It worked out great for the both of us as it sounded like way too much of a pain for someone on a lower skill level like me. Didn't really have the cash either but you do what you gotta do.

Some of you's with that 70+ weather, PUHLEEZ send it here. Its' effin COOOOLLLLLDDDDDD. Anything under 65 is freezing to me. Obviously I live in the wrong place. Blame my mother for dragging me here from Cali. It's supposed to be around 70 in the daytime and 45-50 at night. It didn't hit near that today, and now we have a freeze warning for toning. And I still haven't gotten off my butt to shut down the little pool. And, it's full of pine needles that I must get in there in order to get out.
UGH. At least the sick/flu or whatever else I had is gone. Actually got out a little yesterday and ran some errands. I also managed to get sunbed burnt Glad to hear everyone had a great weekend.

Not to appear ignorant, but who is Dr. Don and how much does that cost? I could care less if I have a cassette player. Haven't owned a cassette in years.
I'd like to find a way to get this working without having wires laying around everywhere. I'm not against the idea of a new deck just would rather not if it's not necessary and there's a cheaper way to do what I'm looking for. Thanks all.

I bought and FM transmitter and took it back. It sucked. Had to keep changing stations to get a decent sound. Plus, it amplified through the phone, not through the deck, making quality worse. Those cassette thingies don't work at all. They work for Ipod, but not Iphone. Ended up giving that to a friend.
I'd read a thread somewhere that there are things for Bose similar to what I've posted but am having trouble finding it, with the exception of the one I did post. The rental car I was driving had a 'headphone' style auxiliary jack that mine worked great with that spoiled me. That's more what I'm looking for,. Heck, I've got a $20 little portable radio that has one as well, it works great too. Why can't I just hook one up in the car somehow? There's a couple of stereo shops here I thought about going to, but didn't want to get snowed into a new deck if it wasn't necessary.

This may be in the wrong place, but...
I plan to keep my factory cd player in my C4, but want to listen to the music stored in my iPhone. Since a '96 does not have the auxiliary headphone input jack in the face of the unit as most newer models do, will this unit work? http://www.installer.com/item/display_item.php?it=pxgm9 I have never removed the stereo and have no idea what is in the back of it, but if this will actually work, I can mount it such that it will appear very neat and for $7.95 can purchase the iPod-RCA cable shown to the right. It has the headphone plug on one end that would go into the iPhone, and the left and right audio plugs on the other to fit into the unit shown. I am looking for an easier listening method with better quality than is offered by an fm transmitter. Any advice? Much appreciated.
