Friday 12:25 no power still. They are now saying a couple more days and yet we have another big storm coming through Monday which the weatherman say we could get another 10". When will it stop?

I am not going to wire it to the house. We have heat via fireplace and all we need it for is for a light, charge items with batteries, a TV, and my wife's hair dryer.

I am on the net via Wireless card. AT this point, great investment on my part since we can't get broadband out here in these parts yet.

Well, Thursday morning 09:00 still no power at the brut house. My wife was able to secure a 5500 watt generator from Home Depot. $699. Now I can charge my laptop. That's all I am concerned about...hahahaha

Yeha, when the wind storm(from Ike) hit over the summer we were w/o power for 5 days. We said at that time that we would buy a generator once they got back on the shelves. We never did. Then two months ago the power went out again for about 36 hours. And then this happens. I really wish we would have bought one!

Yep....09:30 still no power and they say it may be late tonight or tomorrow before it comes back on. To answer the question above, I am able to get on the net because I have a laptop battery and a wireless internet card. However, the batteries are getting drained pretty fast.

We have a propane fireplace and 30% in the tank so we should be ok. I am just hoping the pipes in the basement don't freeze.

Well, I couldn't get into work tonight due to the heavy Ice everywhere...now we just lost power. I live way out in the sticks so I am sure it will be while for power to return. It's 28 degrees out too....thank goodness for gas fireplace!

Great Idea!!

I am Chris. I am 35 years old. Have one wife at the moment, no kids. However, we have two Great Danes that we consider our children.

Myself and Bogus were the originators of this site(previously C4guru). I started a T-shirt business about 2 1/2 years ago. The rapid growth of that venture led me to fully hand the reins to bogus and bastett. IN addition to the t-shirt business I work full time for the local children's hospital on the transport team that travels by helicopter, plane, or ambulance across the country(mainly eastern USA) to bring sick babies and pediatrics back to our facility.

I have three vettes. My first is an '88 that my late grandfather gave to my mother and then she sold it to me. I then picked up a '76 from Ohio and then found out my new neighbor had a '71 for sale and purchased that one too.

So here I sit with no time and three projects in my garage.

Yeah these nuts are real small. I am going to probably go down the dremel route and hope I can figure out how to reattach the parts correctly.

My full time job pays the bills....

I also make t-shirts full time that pay the other half of the bills. I may have a few bucks and a few minutes to spare every few weeks to spend on those "damn Corvettes" as my wife calls them.

I do it every year to see how I am doing. Per the government, you get a free one every year. So why not do it?

It is just a great way to keep track of what creditors are throwing in your accounts.

It does not include a credit "score" however, but you can purchase one for $7.95 or less. I do it through Transunion.

Anyway, goto: www.annualcreditreport.com

Good luck!!!

Yes, we are going to start all over at the half so we can re-use drivers. However, you have to pay again to play the second half. In other words, two separate games.

Whatever is easier for everyone is fine by me. Of course the amounts I used as example are if we get 10 paying teams signed up. If there is more, then the payout will be bigger.

If we go $20 each half and we get 10 teams and split the winnings...it would look something like this:

1st $100
2nd $60
3rd $40

Cut each in half if we do a $10 buy in.

OK I have the first half set-up at Yahoo. There are some new changes over there in the interface but I have not had time yet to find out what all has changed.

Anyway, we need to discuss what are rules going to be this year?

Option #1: Totally free...just have fun.

Option #2: $20 each half winner take all($200)

Option #3: $20 each half split to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Option #4: $10 each half winner take all($100)

Option #5: $10 each half split to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

I will NOT reveal password to you until you send payment if that's the route we take.

I don't want there to be any confusion on this up front.

I can tell you, I don't have any "Corvette" friends where I live. Maybe I am too introverted or something, maybe a club would help get to know some.

However, I have known people from a lot of different types of clubs and it seems to be a common thing...meetings, more meetings, money, fights, breakup, split into two more clubs.

That just happened recently here.

I was thinking $20 per half. Each winner would get $200...unless that is too steep. IT would be $20 now and $20 sometime in June or July.

Like I said, I think winner take all would be grand.

$20 per person, at 10 teams = $200. That could buy some nice parts.

Do it twice in the season. Of course those that get burned the first half may not want to do the second.

Sorry...the bolt is NOT moving...the nut is "spinning freely" on the bolt. I have never seen it before either...but it has happened twice within 30 minutes of each other.....

the nut you are trying to take off just "spins" on the bolt/stud.

I have had two happen now. I was trying to take the washer motor off and one of them just spins. It is a "stud" whereas no bolt head. It is built into a plate.

The second also deals with the wiper system and it is where the wiper arm mounts below the windshield. Obviously corrosin has damaged the threads.

The simple solution would be to just cut off, but I would have to drill out the whole for the motor and just use a bolt/nut.

However, the one attaching the wiper arm goes down below the dash and I do not want to deal with getting up there by the heater core.

I need an AIM manual.

I can do it, no big deal. I know coach said he didn't want to again. Is that correct?

I can handle it all.

My thoughts are this:

Set up two separate accounts. for the first half we will crown a winner. Then I will release the password for the second half when the time approaches.

That way, we can use each driver more than 9 times for the year and anyone who misses the first half can get in on the second.

I say winner takes all each half, but should be a group decision. I will would really like to see if we can get some sponsors to donate some kind of gift certificates or something.

If one was to donate a certain amount than we can call the whole thing by their name. For instance, if Carfax donated a large something then we can call it the "Carfax 500 challenge"...or something like that.

Thoughts?

I had one in that had all of our family pics on it. It was a external setup and it stopped working. My wife works for the police department and she took it in to see if their "computer forensics" guys could get the data off it. They said it was so bad, they had never seen anything like it.

It just sits there and clicks.

My brother in law bought a house in foreclosure for cheap. The guy decided to take all the lighting and anything else of value.

Then 6 months later built a $600,000+ house two blocks away from it.

Yeah we need to discuss.

IT makes an awful long season from Feb to NOV.....maybe two series would be best. No overall winner...just two seperate winners. Maybe even doing to separate games for each each half so we can use the drivers more than 9 times.

I was thinking about removing the rear hatch and take it in for tint too. They always make a big about how hard it is to do, figure if they can lay it down, it should be easier.

BTW, i have a long list for each vette and I should be completed around 2025. Of course, 2012 is coming soon so I may not have to worry.
