Ho-ho-ho! I started out the month of December by posting a personal best sleep-in for the year. I do think I have better in me, though, so I will devote the rest of the year to besting that effort. Meanwhile, some amount of snow, yet to be determined, is on the way today. I am not just excited, I am sofa king excited.

Congrats on your milestone, Marcus - someday you'll be riding that thing ;-)

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Happy Friday! Sheesh, November is over already - I wasn't done with October yet. Judging by my energy level this morning, I am pretty sure I see a nap in my future.

Have a good day, all!

Hidey-ho! The repair place just dropped off my riding mower - perfect timing, since I was out shoveling snow this morning. But she purrs like a kitten, and it only cost $183 including pick-up and delivery, so I'm pretty happy with that. Anyway, looks like it will be in for a long winter nap.

Have a good day, all!

Howdy! I overslept this morning for the first time in a good long while - I must've needed it. Good thing I have a short commute.

Bundle up, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! Felt kinda queasy and light-headed this morning, not sure what's up with that. Probably just the prospect of returning to work. Either that or the joy of vanquishing the Packers last night. In any event, I seem to be doing better now. I think I will schedule a nap later.

Have a good day, all!

Greetings! I put in a respectable, but not spectacular sleep-in performance. I am just hitting my stride after 4 days off. Meanwhile, I believe I have completed my portion of the Christmas decorating. I imagine that if my beliefs are incorrect, I'll be hearing about it.

Blizzard mojo, Tom!

Have a good day, all!

Howdy! Hope everybody had a nice Thanksgiving - we had a good trip up north at my niece's place. The Christmas decorating will commence here today, too. But not until the coffee kicks in.

Have a good day, all!

I remember her first trip in the car - my son wanted to bring the puppy to daycare to show all the other kids, so we brought her one day. I went in and let all the kids see her, then put her back in the car. I had to run back in to take care of something, and when I got back out to the car, she had peed all over the seat, right where I needed to sit.

Our last dog could always sense when she was going to the vet - it was a wrestling match to get her in and out of the car, and she would try to scrunch herself under the seat.

Hidey-ho! We're supposed to get a half-day off today, we'll see how that pans out (I have my doubts). Meanwhile, the evening will be spent in the kitchen, getting ready for the big event tomorrow. Gotta find those stretchy pants, too.

Have a good day, all!

Greetings! Nice of them to have a preview of the Super Bowl last night. I can't stand to listen to that crew, though, so I just kept tabs on it on the web. Not exactly a defensive battle.

Have a good day, yawlz!

Hidey-ho! We are not too pleased with the Viqueens' performance last night, or lack thereof. But more often than not, it has been the same story since 1961. Should be a good game tonight, though.

Looks like a good crew there, Tommy.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! I put in a respectable sleep-in performance this weekend - I'll give myself a solid B+. I've been slipping lately, and need to get back into shape. Meanwhile, I have to venture into enemy territory today and get some Spotted Cow for my niece.

Marcus, the Goofers reverted to form yesterday. They were hanging in there, only down 13-7. Immediately after the radio announcer declared that the defense had really responded to the new coordinator and had stepped up their game, they gave up a 67-yard play, followed immediately by a touchdown. Then when we got the ball back, our QB got strip-sacked at the 17 yard line, and NW scored again. Pretty typical :P

Have a good day, all!

Howdy! I think I will have to dust off a shovel and clean the snow off the driveway and sidewalk. There isn't much, but it won't be melting for a while. I would clean out the junk drawer, but I don't know where I would put the resulting junk box - we are at full capacity. As for the junk drawer itself, there are always about 3 things in there that I use frequently. And then there is that one thing that you swear is in there, but you can never find it.

Have a good day, all!

Greetings! Summer (hey, it was up to a blistering 44 yesterday) is over - back to the cold stuff until next Thursday. But at least we didn't get hammered with snow like out east. Not yet, anyway. Regardless, the snowblower is in the garage and ready.

Have a good day, all!

Greetings! Sheesh, Thanksgiving is coming right up, isn't it? We're going up north to my niece's, and it sounds like they want me to make pot roast and noodles, rather than having turkey. So I'm gonna have to get cracking on rounding that stuff up.

Have a good day, all!

Howdy! It was a balmy 7 this morning - I decided not to poke my nose outside to sample it. There are rumors of a warm-up over the next couple days - I may have to take that opportunity to get the snowblower out of the shed. Ick.

Meanwhile:

Greetings! We had a heat wave, it almost got up to 30. So I broke down and shoveled the sidewalk. The little bit of snow we have should melt on Wednesday or Thursday - there are rumors of a warm-up.

I imagine the Huskers score kept you warm yesterday, Marcus. The Goofers even played well yesterday. Today has been full of atrocious football - the Lions were pathetic against da Bears, and the Dolphins look quite inept in the 2nd game.

Enjoy the rest of your day, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! I got to wheel the garbage bins through the snow this morning. And yesterday I went out and mowed some leaves in the front yard, and it was snowing half the time. Fun, fun, fun!

Greetings! The thermometer continues to plummet - I think the high will be 27 tomorrow. Think I'll observe it from indoors.

A friend sent me this - apparently back until about 1969 there was an old WWII airstrip that was used for SCCA races, about 2 miles from where I live now. The first part of this vid is from a race there in 1968, and the last part is a F5000 race at Donnybrooke (which is now BIR):

Hidey-ho! There is a thin blanket of snow on the lawn. On the bright side, it is covering up some of the leaves.

Greetings! Dreary and rainy here - been busy since the git-go. We'll take a little break shortly and head over to the polls. I think golf season is over - it'll be about 35 degrees by the time I would normally tee off. Time to carve out room in the basement for my clubs.

Hidey-ho! Just arranged for someone to pick up my riding mower to fix the engine. It'll be out of commission for at least a couple weeks, so maybe I'll flag down the local young lawnmowing entrepreneurs who do some of the neighbor's yards to finish up my leaf pick-up.

Greetings! We had a nice week off up in northern MN. The weather was decent all week for a change - you never know what you're gonna get this time of year. We ate like pigs all week. Jeans with a little of that stretchy stuff are a great invention.

Meanwhile, today brings some bad news/good news. The bad news is that it is raining, so I can't pick up the multitude of leaves that fell while we were gone. The good news is that I don't have to pick up leaves today.

Have a good day, all!

Hidey-ho! Kinda foggy at the moment, but I'm sure that will clear up before we hit the road. A week of gluttony lies ahead.

Hope the wedding goes off without a glitch, GRIS! I was gonna say hitch, but hitching is the whole point ;-)

Have a great day, everyone!

My grandpa used to throw a peanut up in the air, and the blue jay would grab it in flight. And he had squirrels and chipmunks that would climb up and take a peanut out of his shirt pocket.

Hidey-ho! Last day of work for a week, looking forward to some time off. Though after reading Tom's post, I'll almost feel like I have today off in comparison.

Enjoy your Friday, Gurus!

Greetings! Sheesh, Thursday already and the day's half over to boot. 2 more days until vacation, looking forward to that.

Best of luck, Mike, and get better, Tommy!

Have a good day, all!

Greetings! It was getting pretty chilly by the time we finished our round yesterday - that may be it for this year. We'll see if the weather is still decent in a couple weeks. Doesn't matter much - my clubs seem to be all out of good shots anyway.

Welcome back, Tommy - hope you managed to keep your shirt ;-)

Hidey-ho! Looks like we may get to play golf this afternoon after all - it'll be sunny and mid to high 40's with not much wind. So it should be tolerable. This may be the last hurrah.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Hidey-ho! Nice and sunny out, and it is snowing maple leaves. So I know what I'll be doing as soon as the football game is over. I am starting to wish I had planted evergreens all those years ago.

Have a good day, all!

Very impressive defense by the Goofers so far - we've only given up 647 yards so far.
