Yes those are the early ZR-1 rims before they went to the f spoke wheels, these are worth big money, don't sell them on ebay for $400. Take them to one of those big corvette shows, I guarantee that you will get alot for them, there will be a purist there and when he see's you have original rims he will pay top dollar for them to put on his early ZR-1.

It looks alright. I like the Z28's, I use to rock an I-roc hard back when they were cool. They were chick magnets back in the day.

Nice 84, you are still rocking the original mufflers with the turn down tail pipes with a color match targa. I think all 84 vettes came standard with the color match targa, I have one with my 84 also. That is a car show winner, any pic's of the engine, does it still look new?

My car has a single plane 2925 Eldebrock Super Victor converted to EFI, with a hand fabricated sheetmetal upper plenmum/TB adpater. I cut the opening on it for a mono blade from the start, but wanted to see what difference there is between a 58mm and mono blade on a motor like mine, for various reasons.

The AS&M Mono Blade is well known for driveability problems and if I could make my HP goals without dealing with them, I wanted to do so.

I only port matched the Eldebrock 2925 lower to the cyl heads, otherwise it is OTB port wise. The 2925 was a brand new desgin when I started this project and no one knew that they had a massive air speed problem in the plenmum until I was well on my way... The upper radius entry to the intake runner from the plenmum needs massive amounts of work to run properly on a big motor. My sheetmetal plenmum/TB adapter seems to only be making this air speed problem worse as the motor orginally lost a crap load of HP from the engine dyno (dyno'd with a carb) to the chassis dyno.

Once I get a decent day to work on the car I'm going to do a little more testing with the new TB before I pull the intake off and have the plenmum enlarged and short side radius' re worked.
Will

Is that intake on a 350? 383? Must perform a little better than a crossfire or TPI huh? Is that engine all top end or is it good from a stop light?

Why not just put a superram on it? Better low end torque for around town. Looks cool too.

Do you walk to work or cut back on groceriesor do odd jobs? I plow snow with my ATV $60/hour and do security for my rich neighbors.

Any of you do anything or are you all rich C4 owners?

Whats orange peel?????

Bumpy paint or the paint peeling off, example chevy pickups in the 90's, the silver would peel like a mofo, and some blue ones.

There is 3 different paint jobs

$399= just paint, I think they give it a quick sanding and paint over the old paint.(lots of overspray).

$899= sanding and they use a special sealer to hide the defects and they paint a color with the clear mixed in or they paint and spray a clear over top.(the only thing with this paint job is if you get a scratch you can't buff it out the sealer underneath will show. I don't think its a very thick coat of paint)

I think the next one is about $1399 and this one is sanded and a sealer applyed and a coat of paint and another coat with the the clear mixed in or a clear sprayed last.(this paint job can be buffed out if you get a scratch).

I have had it for 2 years now and no peeling or fading or flaking and no scratches. I hand wash it alot, my driveway is gravel, I get alot of dust.

I originally was going to paint it and resell it, but now I'm going to keep it and if it needs paint, I will be going back to MAACO.

Go to MAACO and they should have pictures of cars they painted, the one I was at had pictures of hot rods and vettes they painted and they looked good.

The back window is tinted, where I live you can't tint the side windows, to many cops have been shot, they can't see the guns through the side windows. For the wheels I just switch them off my other vette.

The only 0% financing is on new cars and they are so over priced only an idiot would buy new unless it is needed as a write off for a business.

The only way to get this economy rolling again is to lower interest rates and let people spend.

When you refinance and put your vette into your martgage, lets say your mortgage is $400,000 at 6%, you refinance at 4% and let say he payed $8,000 for the vette. Dropping your mortgage by 2% saves you $8,000 in interest, that gives you a free vette for that year and $8,000 every year to spend on mods or to put towards your mortgage or in your pocket. Your life is to short to worry about savings. In 30 years your house will be worth over 1 million maybe 2 million. Invest in your home not the stock market. This spring is the best time to refinance, interest rates will bottem out and it will be the time to set it for long term. The penalty is about $1200 to adjust it but worth it.

So you guys don't just refinance your home for a better interest rate and dump the car payment in with your mortgage and forget about it?

Most 84 vettes were made in 83. My 84 vette was the 10324 to roll off the line and it was made in early 83. It is the 30th model of the corvette regardless if it was assembled in 83 or 84. They have been making vettes for 56 years but there is only 55 models made. On my door jam it says its an 83 not an 84, it also has all the querky little differences from the early 84 model.

Anyways if you have an 84 this emblem would look good. I don't know how to copy and paste from one forum to another.

There is a guy in the "corvette action center" forum that is making them, they look like the 40 emblems on the 93 vettes you can get them chrome or black and with your vin # in it or with L83 or just plain like the 93 vette. It is in the C4 section on that forum. I hope I don't offend anybody mentioning that other little forum, it doesn't get much play anyway. This is the best forum in my opinion.

I bought a superram for my 85 and it is still sitting on the self. My plan is to not install it untill I get some heads and a cam. Still waiting for the day I have some extra cash. I wouldn't know if it is worth it. But I here it is a good street system for the l98, they say its better on a 383 though.

Anybody have any performance numbers on just installing the superram on a stock l98?

Does anybody have their vette in pieces in the garage and wished it was still stock, or have modded their vette and ended up breaking it and now sits in the driveway? Or tried swapping in a different engine and is now sitting in tall grass in the back yard?

I was watching a show and they changed the o2 sensors on a truck just because of the milege on it. Would this help on a vette for performance and fuel economy? Should these o2 sensors be changed?

I own both crossfire and TPI. There is a little difference in performance but not a lot. I had an 84 and had TPI envy, because of the huge TPI aftermarket. So I bought an 85 for $4300 on ebay and now starting to stock pile TPI parts for a build. But I will always keep the crossfire, I like the unique engine even with the lacking on power.

I wouldn't trade up for another vette though, and if times get tough I will sell the TPI. And continue to rock the crossfire.

Can the magnesium surface on the air box and valve covers be painted with just a good cleaning? Or do you need to strip or sand blast them first? What is the proper procedure to paint them? What type of paint to use?

Have your buddy borrow it and call the insurance company and say it was stolen, tell the insurance company it had 30,000 miles on it and they should pay you $8500. While your buddy is in Mexico sell it again to some mexican for $2500.

I like the look of a fairly stock looking race car, with cool wheels and big brakes and the odd noticeable performance part or big exhaust showing. Anybody SCCA there c4 or have any cool picks of a c4 autocrossing?

stock 14.66

pulleys 14.50

air foil, plug wires,K&N,
hypertech chip, 160 stat, 14.18

super profile camshaft 13.47

ZZ9 camshaft 13.39

y pipe & muffler eliminators 13.12

big mouth intake, large tube
runners, poted plenum, 52mm
Throttle body 12.93

AFR heads 12.53

headers 12.32

In my opinionthe intake and runners help on the top end and take away from the bottem end, I guess it tits for tat. The camshaft and the heads is what makes the car perform these 2 items alone = 1.2 seconds off your 1/4 mile.
