I think Flynt is trying to make a point, because there's no way he can expect to make a dime on this.

Seems to me he's making a mockery of Congress. And if that's the case, I approve!

Why am I not surprised? Perhaps the difference is that although a case can obviously be made for corporate mismanagement, greed and what have you by the auto execs, unlike Larry Flynt, they haven't made a career out of glorifying all that is truly perverse, depraved, degenerate and in some cases pure evil.

It's definitely easier to install. Even the most practiced will spend some hours R&Ring a TPI set-up where these intakes can be installed in a fraction of the time once it's set up and all changeover parts are on hand. Although of course on an LT1, there's no distributor involved in the process, I can easily R&R mine in an hour, surface cleaning and all.

Adult Entertainment Industry Wants a Bailout

Joanna Ossinger
FOXBusiness

With the financial industry, auto makers and more getting assistance from the federal government to stay afloat during the recession, the adult industry decided it would try to get something as well.

Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis and “Hustler” magazine publisher Larry Flynt have said they will petition Congress for financial aid along the lines of what the Big Three auto makers are getting.

Francis said that he and Flynt are asking for $5 billion, and that they have sent letters to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Congress and their local Congressman, Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) with the proposal. Rep. Waxman's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

With the $5 billion, they would "invest in building new means of distribution, and shoring up our distribution right now to prevent further erosion from factors like Youporn and other Internet content that has seriously affected our business over the past few years," Francis said in an interview with FOX Business. "We will use the money wisely, and we will create more jobs."

Francis said that if invited, he and Flynt would drive across the country in a hybrid vehicle to present their plans to Congress.

The press release noted that DVD sales and rentals for the adult industry have decreased by 22% in the past year, partially because people are turning more and more to the Internet for adult content.

"People are too depressed to be sexually active," Flynt said in the press release. "This is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex."

Francis said he and Flynt would also be willing to discuss the possibility of the government buying equity stakes in their companies, as was done with financial firms.

"If the government would like to be a partner with Mr. Flynt and I, we’re certainly amenable to it," he said.

Flynt's representative said he was unavailable to comment for this article beyond the press release.

I know what you mean about the gas, it pisses me off too. It's just a big f'n game.

Funny joke, reminds me of this one.

Q: Why do women rub their eyes when they wake up in the morning?

A: Because they don't have balls to scratch.

Since genitalia seems to be the theme this morning.... I can't remember if I've posted this one before, but if I have, tough shit!

My internist referred me to a female urologist.

I saw her yesterday and she is gorgeous. She's beautiful and unbelievably sexy.

She told me that I have to stop masturbating.

When I asked her why, she said.......

And 42% of respondents answered yes! So I guess a smart car would be preferable to them as a presidential limo. Morons.

Just because your gaskets "look" good doesn't mean they haven't lost some of their original ability to maintain a given pressure. I don't know exactly what the hardware looks like for the early LT1 cover but for the later covers the bolts "seat" at a certain point and will not put any additional pressure on the gasket once you've reached that point. For this reason the bolt heads for these covers uses a grommet seal which besides sealing also function to maintain a certain pressure on the main gasket. If your covers use these seals, be sure and replace them too, even if they don't show any signs of leaking or seepage.

I've used Superior by far more than anyone when it comes to dealer only parts. They've saved me as much as nearly 1/2 on some items, over normal dealer retail. I got a pair of head gaskets there one time and one was slightly bent in a corner. It probably would have been fine not being near any passages or holes. But still they sent me another very quickly and didn't even ask for the damaged one back.

It's definitely like the LT1 cars re/ those three little screws on each side, they can be little boogers! But not too bad if you've got a decent tool collection. And if they're like an LT1, they should have 7mm heads if memory serves.

I've got to go with the stroker idea too, reason being is the torque benefit which becomes even more important with a heavy vehicle. You can buy econo stroker kits damn cheap these days. It doesn't have to be an all forged set-up for your purposes. The difference in torque between a 350/400 HP engine and the same HP level with a 383 is substantial, very substantial.

Yeah, a good stroker's fun. If I'd have had a street car as fast as my 388 LT1 when I was 18, I'd have probably ended up in jail, assuming I survived at all!

I've never removed the radiator on my LT1 when pulling the engine. I know yours is configured a bit different but the engine only has to come forward a couple of inches even if the auto trans is still in place. So if you've got a little safety margin beyond that, it should be fine.

Some people pull them as a unit but I don't see much reason to if you're going to separate them anyway. In this case I'd pull the tranny first and then the engine, but either way would work. Also if you pull them separately, you don't even have to remove the hood, there's plenty of room.
