Wow Tommy, you’ve been very fortunate. I’ve never had the attraction to games of chance. Probably because my history with them has emptied my pockets faster than a trip to Jegs or gentlemen’s clubs.

G’mornin Gris. And to all others.
The Buckeye is cold, dark, and damp as well.
I’m coming off a three day weekend and it sure would be nice to make it a four day weekend. Oh well, gotta go back sometime.
Have a good one Gurus!

Hi everyone.
Holy crap! I had no idea a headlight was that much!
Funny how Lincoln dropped from $4500 to $1500 when the feds mentioned it. I thought too many cars were being totaled over air bags. Now, a couple headlights will do it.🤯
I’m gonna have a coffee and think about it...

Good morning everyone.
Congratulations to my wife for putting up with me for 30 years, today.
We’re currently tied in our own little war of attrition.
Have a great day gurus!

Your photo is right there Gris. And it’s a sad state that it’s true.
I’m at the work “20” getting ready to start. But it’s gonna be short. Leaving after four hours. Just getting burned out.

Good luck in your search Mat. You’re fortunate to get the agreed value for the old car, but now comes the decision making process. I’m like you, I’d kind of like to get an old Mustang or a 1st gen Camaro, but it seems like rusty hulks are pulling in 10G’s. I’ve even thought about a Factory Five build as well.

Have a good one everyone!

Beautiful day here in the Buckeye.
Tommy, I’ve not found the fun in gambling myself. But I think you’re on the right track. View it as entertainment and have a finite amount you entertain yourself with.
Letty, I feel your pain with neighbors. Nextdoor I have a single mom and oddly enough she works at Children’s Services. Yet her kids were always the ones walking around at 2am. The son was killed in a drug deal gone bad about a week after he moved out. Her girls turned up pregnant and now we’ve got boyfriends with fart pipes or jacked-up diesels coming and going. And the property is not being kept up.
U-man, you and I agree on socialism. The things that never get factored into socialism are the human failings of greed and love of power.

I’m glad your health is better Andy.
Weather wise, here in the Buckeye we’re bracing for a horrendous 64* high mixed with low humidity levels that tend to create high levels of comfort and relaxation circumventing the achievement of planned daily goals. I may need to play hooky today......
Hang in there Gurus, we’ll get thru it.

Sorry to be a downer in an already bad situation, but I hope your insurance company treats you better than they did a former co-worker. His ‘78 burned down in his driveway at night. He didn’t know about it until a neighbor banged on his door as the fire department got there.
His insurance company asked for tax records, proof of income, debt information, you name it. They treated him like he’d done it for fraudulent purposes. He eventually got his money, but it took some time. Months as I recall.
I truly hope it goes better for you.

Just checking in...
Seems like things are going kids rough for you guys.
It’s times like this when I don’t know what to say because the only things I come up with sound cliche’.
Tommy, I think I feel the pain. My family all have Gastro allergies and issues. The boy is worst off. Along with other issues.
One father to another, all we can do is keep at it.
And May! Sorry about the corvette! Wow! I’m hoping no one is hurt.
It’s a Disappointing loss, but at least replaceable.

Gotta go now, be thinking of you guys.

Good luck with the hearing aids, Gris. At some point, I should look into them as well. Too much rock-n-roll.

Here at the palacial double-wide, we were all set to get the drain line from the house to the sewer replaced, but nothing’s that easy. Our digger got here and found the utility markings showing that a gas main runs thru my back yard, right in our path. So, now I’ve got to find a contractor that’s got the proper equipment for this kind of work. Fortunately, we’re not in an emergency situation. This is all pre-emptive, so I have some time to get it taken care of.
The adventure continues...

As for the clamping of the hoses, I made the ones that are aluminum. The black Anodized ones I bought off ebay from a Chinese “ship from US” source. But all the strap type, both aluminum and aluminum with black rubber were the ones I made.

Finally, here’s where it comes up past the header. The black bar at the top of the pic is the rear ac compressor support rod.
I have the lines clamped to the frame before and after the angular frame support to hold it still.
From here it’ll route to the block at the mechanical pump location, them up the front of the engine like OEM routing.
So there you have it. Whaddya think? I’m also open to alternative suggestions.

The filter. This is from Summit. It’s a 10 micron filter that comes with the quick connect fittings to adapt to -6 an lines. I used a 45* to angle the line up toward the engine. The return line is clamped above and has no connector like the OEM , but rather is a straight run from the tank to the regulator.

Laugh all you want. I need the arrow.

This is where the lines drop out in front of the wheel and start the transition to run up the passenger side. The screw head you see in a self drilling #10. I’ll be replacing this soon with a machine screw from the inside, behind the seat.

This is where it comes out in front of the tank and between the tank and cross member, then snakes outside the spare tire mount to start over the sway bar, and then over the batwing and on up inside the wheel well, between the frame and storage compartment.

On the subject of electric cars. In Ohio, a year or so back, the governor came down and said that hybrid gas/electric vehicles will pay a $100/year surcharge on plates, and full electric vehicles $200/year.
This is to make up for the gas taxes they’re not paying at the pump.
The way I see it you’re being double taxed for plates and then on the electric usage.

9-9-29?

In the interest of brevity, I agree with all of you. And I’m still in “two guys kissing? Eeeewwww,” stage.
As for getting older, I liken it to my own observation. When younger, I was subject to all the “go get ‘em tiger” statements. Somewhere along the way it stopped and I didn’t even notice it had. Then, all of a sudden, it was, “hey, old fart!” Two years ago I was working and a young man, new employee, walked up, and with a bit of a stammer Said, “Pardon me, Umm Old School, can you tell me where the supply crib is?”
So now I’m old school, and to some I’m a Boomer that created all the worlds problems.
The circle of life. Have a great day Gurus!

I was pretty filthy to be picking up my phone for pics, but I’ll try to snap a few and see how they come out.
I might add, I didn’t need to remove the rear bumper cover. I worked thru the right side taillight holes and also took off the right rear wheel and the inner wheel well and had great access to what I was doing. I also used a “fish” wire hooked to the front end of the hoses to work them thru tight areas and over the batwing. At one point, as I was working the new lines over the rear crossmember, and toward the batwing, I looked and saw myself looking as if I was wrestling with stainless steel snakes.
I will say, having my car on the KwikLift was a big, big part of this job going as well as it did.

Well, yes, yes, and yes.
Shoulders were sore at the end of the night. Ibuprofen took care of that thru the magic of modern chemistry.

The rust WAS on the inside of the lines. The car has been inactive for 15 years. I tried in April to de-rust the lines, but was never really sure of my success. Eventually, my OCD got the better of me. In cutting out the old lines, I did see rust within some sections. So now I hope to “sleep” a little better.

Finally, yes, I’m replacing the lines in their entirety. However I should tell you that there are still some rubber lines. The hose connections at the tank are FAR too short to place a compression fitting on, there’s NO room to to flare them even if long enough. The practical option I took was to get injection rated rubber hose and connect them to “hose barb to -6 an adapters less than a foot away.
If you REALLY, REALLY want to connect directly to an “an” hose Fitting directly from the tank, you’d need to take the pump mounting assembly out and go to a metal fab shop and have them remove the old lines coming out the top, and put in the desired style lines that offer the clearance and length desired. It would probably be to your advantage to have the New lines With you, as well as the fitting hardware needed already on the new lines if they are the kind that need to be behind the flare you use. My approach would be to use a hard tube to an fitting adapter, and leave the hard lines unflared.

Mat, that’s a pretty funny sign. But lets not give people any ideas?

Did the fuel line job, it’s in the C4 tech forum.

Daughter spent the weekend here. She got tested and found out Friday she has strep. She’s still under the weather so we hopped in the vehicles to take her back north. So that kinda took most of my day today.

That’s it for my story, I hope you guys all have a great week this week.

Well, Saturday I started the fuel line swap in the early afternoon. Worked until about 11:30pm. It’s odd that even though you’ve tried to think it through and look at how and why you’re gonna do things, you still spend a good amount of time in the head scratcher mode making sure it’s all gonna go how you want. I decided to use an line for the ease of flexibility it offers. I was VERY close to going with a NiCopp type line, but if I had, I’d still be trying to work it over the batwing. So with two twenty foot rolls of -6 Aeroquip and a predetermined group of fittings on hand, I set about slicing and dicing sections of old line (rusted inside) while finding ways to rout the lines thru the original path, but also ways to utilize the original clamping spots, but also finding spots to create mounting points to avoid shaking and vibration damage.
So to finish the story so far, I have it back up to the break at the filter. The original had a break in the return line there also, but I’ll probably just run a straight shot from the regulator to the tank. If that’s a bad idea, don’t be afraid to say so.
I used 13 feet from the tank to the filter, plus about 7-8 inches for rubber line (F.I.rated) off the tank to the first -an fitting. There may be some rethinking on one or two of the item, but it’s pretty much in.
All in all, it wasn’t the worst job I’ve ever done on a car. Putting the engine and then the tranny in by myself was much more taxing.

Thanks for the offer on the lines Mat. I know what you mean about afternoon shift. I’m back on it as well. God news is that as I watch Fox Business channel, August saw 1.371 million people going back to work! That’s good for all of us. We still have room to improve, but things are going in the right direction.
Where I work, they want to start 3rd shift back up but can’t find enough people to do it. That’s why I’ve had so many 7-day weeks.
Have a great day everyone.

Welcome back Mat! You’re up early or still up on Thursday nite.
Like most of you, I’m looking forward to a three-day weekend. Maybe I’ll get my new fuel lines in, wish me luck.
Everyone be safe this weekend.

I’m sorry you lost your pig Tommy. It’s very hard to lose a pet and companion.
All this talk about a craftsman home, my nephew actually lives in a house in Lexington Kentucky that was a Sears prefab house, brought in on rails and entire neighborhoods built out of these Sears prefab homes. I’m not sure but I think his house is about 100 years old now as well.
Have a great day Gurus!

Sweet ride there Gris! I was hoping the pic would come with the quote.(?)
Got to work yesterday where political apparel is verboten, and one of the idiot supervisors was wearing a mask with the BLM fist logo on it.
Our feckless HR department in action again.

Gris, Very sorry for the loss of your son.
Since my last visit, I have learned that I need to replace the drain tile going from my house to the city sewer system. So much for my automotive dreams for the immediate future.
I used to say,” things could be worse,” but this IS 2020, and I’m not gonna tempt the hand of fate.

I Wanted one of those when I was a kid. A friend of my brother had one. And that song is great I always liked that song great video thanks.

Well as they say it’s always one step forward two steps back. Thought I was going to have some extra coin this weekend by working seven days but when I got home last night, the plumbing was all backed up and no matter what I did I couldn’t fix it. Spent another hour or two trying to find someone to come out on a 24 seven emergency to no avail. But eventually I got someone to come out this morning. So after getting to bed about 430 or 5 AM, and then was able to wake up at 9 o’clock for them to call me and say they were on their way. Long story short, Four hours and $600 later my drains are miraculously unclogged. And the fun part of it is as I found out that my drain tile are now about to collapse I’m going to have to get those dug up and do something. Not something I really feel like doing at my age but now they want thousands upon... I could buy another car for what they want to put in drain tile. Oh well, the adventure continues...

Hi guys. I’m interested, but I’m not gonna touch this controversy with a 10 foot pole. It’s gotten me too crazy lately. And depressed.

A nephew has been a genealogical hobbyist for a few decades now and came up with some good stuff.
He traced our roots back to at least 1066 and the Norman invasion of England. Even had a different name!
We went on to become the “dancing master” for the aristocracy of Virginia in the late 1700’s! Maybe that’s why I got so much boogey in my step!
I’ll save the rest for my speaking tour!🤓
Have fun Gurus!

Hi guys!
I’m actually gonna have a weekend! And it won’t be at work!

Yesterday’s political statements were interesting. Andy, I respect your views on The Donald. But I guess we don’t agree. If we took the views of our President and really hashed it out, I believe the whole good guy/ bad guy issue would come down in the middle and find the truth.
Poking toward this years election, what are the choices?
If Trump is re-elected, the domestic terrorists will throw a tantrum and burn more cities.
If Biden is elected, his handlers will gain power and allow the terrorists to burn more cities unabated, with complete impunity.
Pretty much the worst choice we’ve had in all the bad choice elections in my voting life.
Minneapolis is moving to Muslim patrols to replace the police. Which means there will be no punishment for domestic violence against women, rape, anti-Semitic hate crime, or crime against any member of Christian faith.
That is sharia law.
Something to look forward to.
Political rant over.
