Hi guys. I’m interested, but I’m not gonna touch this controversy with a 10 foot pole. It’s gotten me too crazy lately. And depressed.

A nephew has been a genealogical hobbyist for a few decades now and came up with some good stuff.
He traced our roots back to at least 1066 and the Norman invasion of England. Even had a different name!
We went on to become the “dancing master” for the aristocracy of Virginia in the late 1700’s! Maybe that’s why I got so much boogey in my step!
I’ll save the rest for my speaking tour!🤓
Have fun Gurus!

Hi guys!
I’m actually gonna have a weekend! And it won’t be at work!

Yesterday’s political statements were interesting. Andy, I respect your views on The Donald. But I guess we don’t agree. If we took the views of our President and really hashed it out, I believe the whole good guy/ bad guy issue would come down in the middle and find the truth.
Poking toward this years election, what are the choices?
If Trump is re-elected, the domestic terrorists will throw a tantrum and burn more cities.
If Biden is elected, his handlers will gain power and allow the terrorists to burn more cities unabated, with complete impunity.
Pretty much the worst choice we’ve had in all the bad choice elections in my voting life.
Minneapolis is moving to Muslim patrols to replace the police. Which means there will be no punishment for domestic violence against women, rape, anti-Semitic hate crime, or crime against any member of Christian faith.
That is sharia law.
Something to look forward to.
Political rant over.

Hiya Gris! How’s it goin’?
Great pic there DJ. I’ve seen those on Facebook. Fun to look at but I probably won’t buy one anytime soon.

Tommy, I hope things return to normal for you. No one needs the stress of ill health in the family.
Have a good one guys. I’m off to work.

Tommy, I’ve been thinking of you and your family as well.
Recently, I’ve been thinking of all of you. I hope all of you stay well, safe and healthy no matter the National circumstances.

Apparently GM is gearing up to go back to work along with our other customers. I’m currently on 10hrs/day, 8 on Saturday and Sunday.
This helps because I’ve felt the need to obtain home security equipment along with a quantity of remote deterrent units. Not something I’m really comfortable with, but hope it’s never needed.

On another front, my son is turning 25 soon. Living at home. He’s got issues both with his physical health and with development. His issues preclude him from driving.
We’re gonna be applying for social security for him, but not sure how to deal with the residence issue and he’s got a very minor bit of money in some kind of retirement account with the YMCA.
If any of you have any experience with this, any advice or guidance is appreciated! If you’d like, send it in a PM and any info will be deleted after reading. No, I’m certainly not asking for personal information.
Thanks and have a blessed day.

Gonna be just as bad today with no a/c at work. I’m supposed to make 20 parts for the replacements by tomorrow am or the sun will explode. Management keeps telling me they have something more important.
I’m there til 11.
Have a good one all!

Morning all.
Don’t kiss me, I’ve been “possibly” exposed, at work.
This past Tuesday I had to work in close proximity to a woman who last night was sent home due to one or more symptoms on the list of item the company nurse has to look for.
Here we go....
I’ll try to give updates.

Morning guys...MIA yesterday. I guess I won't talk about the weather and how hot it has been, or how the humidity is like eastern kansas, or the fact that we FINALLY got a significant rain last night (1 3/4"). So I won't talk about any of that.

Health is in the forefront here....#3 texted us yesterday saying her youngest wasn't feeling well, low fever, stuffy head and overly tired.... and come to find out, one of her dance instructors, which she was with last week, tested positive for Covid. They took GD in for a test (haven't heard anything yet). This is significant because we WERE going to see and stay with them this weekend, then on to Branson Monday. Looks like we are still going, leaving Monday from here for Branson. Instead of three hours, it will be closer to 9.

More work in the shop today. Have a great day.

I didn’t catch the severity of your granddaughters condition my first time thru. Just offered a prayer for her.

Hi guys.
Not as bad in the Buckeye as what some of you have to deal with. I think I saw where it’s gonna get to about 90*.
A few months ago I found an electric furnace locally that’s set up to be used in a garage to allow cave time in the winter months.Right now I’m wishing it has an a/c unit on it as well. It might not be so bad, but there’s no a/c at work, and I’m gonna be working 7 days this week. I’d better have another cuppa to think about this.
Have a great and safe day everyone.

Good quality photo there Gris.

And U-man, I feel your pain on the electrical gremlins. Like Tommy sez, be glad it’s on a ‘56, and not on something new.
On my 1st Vette, a ‘68 vert, I was at a mall and came out to find it wouldn’t start, and had nothing but headlights. I got it home and started trying to diagnose the issue and it bafffled me for 4 months. It would start and run, but if I turned on the headlights it died with only headlights working. Let it sit a few days and it would start again, until the headlights came on. Finally after having done an unsuccessful marathon on it to find the issue, a day or two later I found that disconnecting the bulkhead connector and re-connecting it did things come back on, until I turned on the headlights. Out of just plain luck, I went to Radio Shack and got a can of “tuner cleaner” for TVs. I sprayed the crap out of both halves of the b’head connector, fastened it back together and started the car. Then tried turning on the headlights and it stayed running. So just by being thorough about my connections I fixed the issue and was able to drive my Vette again after dark. Again, it took about 4 months To figure it out.

Hi all!
Just checking in.
Tommy, I hope your wife heals quick, and gets a break from what she’s been dealing with.
Everyone stay cool, or try to. Wanna try to cut grass, but not sure if it’s looking like rain or if it’s just sandy skies from the mid-east. We’ll see...

Not too selfish Tommy. We all need some time for decompression.
Had to go get a trailer this morning. The oldest is moving out. She’s an Art teacher and here locally, the jobs are getting harder to find and keep. She’s got a position near my wife’s childhood home and it’s too far to commute, so out she goes! It’s bittersweet at best. It’s obviously time for her to be out, but we’ll certainly miss her. So, my weekend events are already planned.
Earlier this week I was deep in the doldrums. Sorry to have unloaded that stuff here.
Have a great one everyone!

Hi-Ho all!
It looks like most here are doing well.
All the national bad news is starting to get to me. Add to that those who tell or observe partial truths to mislead, I’m losing my patience with them.
I think all of the hatred I’ve seen is there for the purposes of making me hate, and it takes a lot of energy to subdue those feelings.
What in the world has happened to us?

I gotta agree with Mat on this one.
You can try the fluid swap, but the brake master cylinder is 24 years old.

As an extra thought, if you do change out the master cylinder, get and install a “brake bias spring.” I was very impressed with the one I had in my 88. I got that one from “Doug Rippie Motorsports,” but you can get them from Eckler, I think, and some of the other larger Corvette suppliers.

Andy, I hope the job search turns something up soon for you.
As for the number of funerals, you guys are right.
In ‘04 my FIL past away. Then for over two years I either attended funerals every six to seven weeks, or was acquainted with someone who passed. My work schedule was not very forgiving for those occupancies.
It ended with the passing of my eldest Sis-in-law who passed Christmas Eve, ‘07.
Let’s hope for a GREAT weekend.

Regarding the tensions of the ‘60’s, I graduated in’73, but my brothers both in the 60’s. Dayton had its race riots as well. I remember there was a local Big Boy restaurant, and the week of the riots my brothers went out one night and sprayed the Big Boy face black as a prank. People went nuts! They thought the riots were coming to our suburbs! Our neighbors were like,” What’re we gonna do!?!?!“
That was then, now we have a new set of problems.
Please stay safe, stay well everyone.

I’m sorry for the loss of your brother Andy. I’m lucky enough to still have both mine. Wife has lost two sisters tho, so I’ve seen and been a part of the feelings that go with the loss.

I hope things improve for our country. Stupidity and sponsored violence must be dealt with by the legal authorities. This can’t be any part of the definition of America.

One unrelated thing.
How long a time period do we have to edit a post?
If for instance I typo and discover it later my option to edit is gone.
Is that normal or do I have something wrong in my settings?

Just got done with the harness and final fuel pump install.
I ran the harness and hand the relay in the same spot as the picture shows. As I began to weave it forward I noticed the ABS wires going into the left rocker panel. After a bit of checking I was able to loosen the left rocker and feed the new harness up thru the rocker along side the ABS wires. Of course, all wires mentioned are in the plastic looms for safety.
Once up front I ran them the rest of the way up to the alternator to hook up.
Soon I’ll get the forward lines in while trying to get the rest of the intake put together.

Thanks again to Mat and Andy for the help.

There is nothing to apologize for. I absolutely appreciate the help!
I didn’t realize they had their own tech forum.
My overthinking Mind had me wondering if proximity to the muffler Was an issue, and what the limits of safe distance to the heat there are.
Thanks again Mat!

Thanks for looking, but my harness doesn’t have a provision for a 2nd pump. It plugs into both vehicle harness and to the pump. If I understand it, it’s replacing the OEM relay as primary power to the pump.

So I’ve got the new pump installed in the level bracket and ready to go back ic. I also got the new in-tank harness for it.
I also got their new FPWH-014 wiring harness. It plugs into the factory plug for the pump and to the pump itself, goes forward And connects to the back of the alternator. What has me scratching my head is there’s a relay four feet from the pump plugs. That distance wants to put the relay in a very inconvenient mounting under the back of the car. Somewhere close to a muffler or above the spare tire carrier.
Because of the plandemic, they have odd hours and it’s been difficult to get tech on the line.
Do you guys have any experience with this?

Hi all.
Just a check in while I wait for parts. I ordered from Summit thinking that since I live in Ohio it’ll get here in about 48 hours. Nope!
It seems that when they sell you a three piece filter/adapter kit on one part number, the adapters come from Ohio and the filter from Nevada.
But from what I’ve read in the last few days of topics, I’m pretty blessed that this is my problem.

I hope Avery one gets over the back pains, and other ailments. I’ve had back pain, and I know I don’t like it. So all of you get better, I mean it.
Have as great a weekend as you can, Bob out.

Ok, so I just spoke with Racetronix. In a bit I’ll order the stuff he recommended.
I’m having trouble getting the Teflon lined braided hose. A local shop with good reputation states the Aeroquip they sell is fuel line but not Teflon, and has had no issues to date.
Whaddya think guys? Should I get the Aeroquip, or wait a month for Teflon line?

My 92 was old... and had miles... but I never felt those lines were problematic.

As for replacement? I don't think the bumper needs to come off. The rubber is either localized to the sender area, or connects to a rubber line that is accessible... I would need to see the area again to confirm.

Removing the rear bumper is a pain, on a good day.

I’ve never had to do it, but I did replace a couple taillight bulbs on my ‘88. Not fun, so that’s why I asked.
The hoses attach at the top of the pump/sender and go not quite a foot to the hard line. There, they’re attached by means of those steel crimped connections, identical to the flex portion of the front lines where they leave the frame and go to the side of the block.
I guess I’m wondering if it can be done by way of one guy up top, and one beneath the car, with the spare carrier out, allowing for access.
Any ideas are appreciated.

I installed a racetronix on my 92. Last pump I did. Worked very well.

Been busy with things around here, but I’m gonna give them a call pretty soon.

Anyone here ever changed the the rubber lines at the tank without removing the bumper? I can only imagine the required effort.

Here is a pic of the bar I hung out at night (and on stormy days) when I was 16. The Cafe was on the left. The bar on the right.

I was telling my daughter about this very thing. At the worldly age of 16 ,I used to do my drinking in the bars of University of Dayton. However, I
Looked 16 so my pal Steve (15) went and ordered at the bar because he looked legal!
