Hit a nice cld front rain patch driving home, 70 miles, from the track on drag radials at 14psi. It got sketchy and took forever.

revamped the setup. New intake, new pcm, flex fuel, new fuel pump and lines, and higher redline. Should be tuned here soon.

Car runs pretty damn good.
Got the car exhaust hacked up as I still had cats and my mufflers shot.

Vid: Car made 700rwhp/600rwtq spinning to 6500rpm. Made around 17lbs of boost.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2XTdgEUUEw

It is a very fun car and the rpm wraps out very quickly in 1st-3rd.
Plans are already in the works for more power...

Made it to the Texas Mile where I learned I cannot shift worth a crap from 3rd to 4th. Pulling straight back was making the car go to 2nd so I was having a big delay in that shift as I had to pull to the right but not so far as to go into 6th.

First run: 97mph @1/4, 14Xmph@1/2, 151mph@mile. This was a proving run that needed to be between 140-165. Did not shift out of 4th.

Second run: 105mph@1/4, 144mph@1/2, 188.9mph@mile.
FWIW most cars hitting 14X in the half were doing 160's. My tuner thinks at the current power I could do mid-high 190s.

At the end of the run I had an issue. The cause could be a c clip holding a spindle in busting, brakes dragging, or the fact that my fuel pump died and killed the engine. All that I know is it was a wild ride and I can't wait until next year.

So a lot has been finished with very little pictures.
Wiring is done besides some custom switches. Hobbs switch is wired up and my fuel pump is pretty loud. Moving some serious fuel.

The car cranks, has fuel, and spark. I can keep it running by spraying fuel in the intake. This tells me things are working well and I just need a better tune since the car WILL run once in closed loop. Initial start up in open loop is just to lean.

Gauges are in. All work except the fuel sensor but I think my lever got bent on install.
Resized Image

Resized Image

Then I got the tires out after putting on the rear bumper and wheel wells.

And the car stood on its own for the first time in 20 months

My day involves wires. Fuel pump spins and will be priming lines. priming engine with oil. Running gauge wires. Trying not to burn down the project.

It is hot again in South Texas.

How far out do they sit? I was trying to get as vertical as possible in my design.

Those are still saved in my list if I ever decide to change it up.

Another few days of work.

Ill go front to rear.
Rear coilovers are done. I know the bottom mount is worrisome but I believe it will hold together. Bolt will not break but the stock cast aluminum mount the issue.

No sir. Well yes but havent officially started in.

My old man called me today and said the welder stopped by and my coilovers are done, radiator is in, and wiring is nearly done. 1 more weekend and I should have it make a test fireup or extremely close.

These kits are close but are not perfect. I took an entire pulley off and clearanced a spacer as it was hitting.

Good you saw it before fireup causing damage.

Now that is pretty wild.

Do they even make solid mounts for the C4? I have the XE poly mounts but this has me thinking.

Literally just adding HD to the end for your size.
Mine is stiff as hell but I may need to go down 1/2" for a tighter wrap.

Rockauto had mine in 94.5" in stock and they had a nice price as well.
Maybe order one and keep the regular as a spare?

Short weekend but got all we could get done, done.
Biggest thing was finishing gutting the old useless wiring. Will see what I screwed up soon enough. Removed 15lbs of wires and relays and the stock cpu/alarm/theft crap that never worked.

All charge piping is mocked and BOV flange fitted to pipe and off to coating.

New harness is ready to go in next trip.

Coil mounts are made and off to powdercoat. This was the best option given the space constraints.
Resized Image

Got pictures of the driveshaft/t56adapter/cbeam/12bolt setup. My battery on my cell was nearly dead so no flash.

Resized Image
Resized Image

Also a pic of my oilcooler mount location.

Resized Image

And my new radiator shroud also off to coating.

Even better is my spindles and stub axes are shipped on monday.

Any thought on a remote filter/cold air intake?

Yessir. I have mine all lined out. I live in Texas so no emmisions. You can see my 6an bung that will go to the air filter side. The passenger side has a 10AN bung to the can and the pcv back to the TB.

As for filter there are 3 choices:
1. Shorty filter.
2. Like show for a larger filter.
3. Remote mount the battery to the rear and run the ducting to the battery area.

3 seems to be the best option but I recall someone doing this and not having much different IATs. With my current setup it will breath more fresh air with the SS scoop in the new hood.

Little more progress. Had around 6 hrs to figure some crap out and get stuff installed.

Got the clutch in finally. Trans, cbeam, and driveshaft are in but didnt grab any pics. Will next go around.
Resized Image

Then my tires were in so I took them by a trusted friend to get them mounted and balanced. They look perfect.
Resized Image

305 is a great size but I am already looking for the bigger 315/335 for the drag setup.
Resized Image

Test fit the front 285 and will have over .625 in between the tire and charge pipe so I can proceed with my plan.
Resized Image

Catch can came in so I figured out mounting with the radiator/fan setup. Also figured out coil locations since my new filter setup made my last plan a no go.

Same. Unless someone knows a bigger spindle that will bolt up the stock can only go out to 31 spline. Or at least so I am told.

Would much rather go 33 but it is what it is.

Worse case scenario I keep the 31 spline spindle and have MW do a set of stubs.

My stubs have no reluctor wheel type setup. Just spline and ujoint mount. May make it easier to weld. Will see. They get a call Thursday if I still havent heard anything.

WTF. Did they stand behind it or did you have an independent reweld?

Where to start. Happiness and sorrow.
Flywheel came in. Fit the crank and floater but not the pressure plate. Sent it back to be inspected by McLeod. Hope to have it back soon. THis held up the trans and driveshaft install. Still no stub axles so no halfshafts which is holding up final measurement for rear top coil mount location.

Now onto the good.

Dennys Driveshaft and Halfshafts came in. Nitrous ready. Solid 1350 spicer ujoints.

But got the hang of it at the end.

And installed. Also finished installing the passenger side plastics in the wheel well. Meth tank and pump tuck in very nicely behind it all. Center piece took minor trimming to fit over coilover mount.

Also got my C beam back from coating.

And 4 more boxes.

Black lugs and valve stem.

Tires are ordered. 285 Hankook fronts and 305 R888 rears.

Company that retrofits them. These will have a plug and play harness for the stock C4 wiring. Just need to figure out where to mount the ballasts.

The stock plugs are long gone.

Got a base tune on my pcm ready so hopefully it will run.

This is what will be a radiator surround.

Found an air filter that fit. Hoping it isnt to bad of a restriction.

Found out I need another 8inches of 3 in aluminum to finish my charge pipe.

Havent heard back from summerbrothers yet about my stub axles, havent heard from Mcleod on my flywheel, I was charged for my DS and Halfshafts but they cant go in until my other parts get back so I am at a standstill until parts start arriving.

I have true duals sitting from my 85. Just need longtube headers to attach them to or add pipe to connect.

See my thread? Things spiral out of control rather quickly.

Next I moved onto making AN fuel lines. This was a MAJOR pain in the ass. Turns out Redhorse fittings that are turns (45*, 90*, 120*) are SLIGHTLY larger than the actual AN size. This means the wrenches will not fit. Had to improvise with a few other wrenches.

Nice build.

I've had the same thing with Earl's, Aeroquip and others.
Doesn't make much sense to have to put a steel wrench on a new aluminum fitting but...........

If I had known I wouldn't have spent $50 on AN wrenches but it is what it is.

IIRC, the AN wrenches always fit the hose end fitting but not the adapters or 90 degree connectors. Just did a dry sump pump where none of the 6 adapters could be removed with an AN.

Yea, pisses me off every time, you need one AN and one steel wrench.

Ever used the AN adjustable wrench?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-900122

Think it would cover both bases.

Well another trip another round of progress.

First started by disassembling the rear spindles. Man they were nasty. 100k miles of grime an a blown ujoint caked up.

Soaking

and pressure blasted. Next they are getting powdercoated like everything else. Have new wheel bearings going in.

10AN feed from tank to pump to split.

Resized Image

Split goes from 10AN to dual 6AN. Each rail is fed then looped back to each side of the regulator. Single 6AN return.
Resized Image

Wrapped and installed my headers with DEI titanium wrap.
Resized Image

Then worked on the Charge pipe.
Rough fit
Resized Image

Little more trimming or boot and pipe and drilled the holes for the meth injection. It goes off for powdercoating aswell.

Another weekend. Another round of progress.
This weekend was 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

First was mocking up the fuel system. Didn't get any pictures but ordering the last of my needed AN fittings today.
10AN from tank to pump to firewall. split to 2 6AN for each rail. 6AN from rails to AFR and a single 6AN back to fuel tank.
Need a 90 for my FP gauge sensor but this thing looks like an alien.
Resized Image

Supercharger is back and all together.
Resized Image

Only thing missing is the alternator. AC delete bracket and tensioner powdercoated and fitting like a charm.
Resized Image

Little size reference for IC. Using a 4in 60* coupler with a slight lean looks like it will clear the hood. Getting the brackets welded on this week then the end tanks with be coated black and core lightly painted black with a possible symbol/phrase. Any help here? Have 8x28 to deal with.
Resized Image

When I started this build I planned to see how long the D36 would last. Then I said screw it and ordered a hammerhead 12bolt rear in 33spline from StreetShop Inc. This meant the rear must come out.
Resized Image
Resized Image

This will make it easier to do the rear coilovers aswell.
While the rear is out the rear spindles will be taken apart coated and new bearings installed.
