Try a Volkswagen site. I sold my vette rims for $100 a piece to a kid who put them on his rabbit. He said they are very popular on the road racing scene. Just trying to help

As many of you know, many times we do things to our cars without the expectation of ever selling. That is the case with me. I realize I have much more invested into this car than I would ever expect to get back I have somewhere between 12,000-15,000 in receipts into this car, not including the purchase price. I do realize that the market is low on C4's but all the major work is already done. It has taken a long time to get this car dialed in, so it seems only fitting that I will only be able to enjoy it at its best when I have to sell it.http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa47/chisgt/CORVETTE/

I have had them on my car for about 4 years. Overall I am pretty happy with them. Melrose made them for my car and installed them because at the time they didnt make them for the convertibles. The coating hasnt held up that well but the headers work great.

Well I was driving home on the Dan Ryan x-way when I apparently hit something in the road, or I just didnt see the pothole because The next thing I knew I was exiting in a not so nice neighborhood with a flat. Rather than take my chances in the neighborhood I limped it to firestone where they took me for 175 for a new tire. Oh well, sad part is the tires are only a year old. I guess Im lucky that I was able to get to firestone without ruining the rim.

Matt, I think the first one is my picture from college. Somehow it looked cool under a hockey helmet. I wish someone had taken me for a flat top instead. Oh well live and learn. I havnt really looked into upcharges for prescription meds but if I had to take a guess I would bet most of the cost is assoctiated to governmental costs. Taxes, FDA and such. Just a guess. I believe 75 cents of every gallon of gasoline in chicago is tax.

By the way, I opened it up on the track after they told us to keep it under 75mph( GTO wanted to race) and the pace car thought it would be funny to slam on the brakes in front of me. I thought we were going to be going home on the back of a flatbed.

Thanks Tommy, To be honest my 6 and 7 year olds took the magazine away as I was reading it and my 6 year old, who was with me at the time is the one who saw it first. Their mother hates that they are so into cars. She thinks it's my early midlife crisis. I told her not to worry. My mid life crisis is going to cost more than a C4.

Okay, I know the December issue is already out but I have been a little busy at home and at work.I just opened the October issue of Hot Rod Magazine and on page 43 on the right hand side is a picture of my vette behind the pace car. I'm sure many of you have had your cars in magazines and this isn't an article about the car but it was enough to bring me back for next years power tour. If you have never gone and you don't mind driving long distances this is a great week of car shows and meeting new friends. Being someone who rarely deals with nice people it is a fresh reminder that their are still good people out there.

I'll skip my lecture about home protection and just say that no matter where you live you should always have the door locked. If you decide not to press charges, you might talk with one of the tactical officers about looking at this guy for a possible future search warrant. Sometimes even when people want to press charges, they fear retaliation.I dont know you and I dont know how far you want to go with this, I would suggest that you do whatever you feel comfortable with. I hope everything turns out Ok with your friends back.

Well, I dont know if this will compare to anyone elses day but we had my six year olds birthday party today.Sixteen 5-6 year old kids running around for three hours. Thank god for those jumpy blow up rentals or I would really be nuts by know. Headed down town tonight for a reunion with the guys I grew up with and all I feel like doing is going to bed. Just a heads up to all of you. We have been experiencing alot of crimes where a car will follow you and wait for you to exit your vehicle. The offenders usually numbering from 4-6 will exit the car severely beat the victims take all there valuables and leave them for dead. I realize this is Chicago, my point is you should always be aware of your surroundings. If you or your spouse think someone is following you dont go home. Continue to drive and call the police.

Tommy, very cool story. It's true so many people take for granted what so many have lost their lives to protect. As a society we have gone from the thought that if you work hard you will be rewarded to: Give me whats mine. Matt I hope everything is okay with the baby. Sorry I havnt called I figured the baby was home and you guys would need some rest. Ill give you a ring this weekend.

Ron, Are you telling me you didnt take the time off? You seem deeply traumatized. I think you are only now allowing the trauma from this incident to surface and you could probably use a few sunny days in the corvette to regroup. That and and not having to attend stupid meetings that never accomplish anything truly related to the benefit of the student or teacher.

Matt, good luck, all i can say is that you need to stay consistent. It can take a week or two but then they stay in their own bed. My brother is a prime example of what happens when you dont follow through. His girls are 3-5 and they go to bed when they want usually with the tv on and they still end up in his bed.

First, thanks for the response. Second young lady, 4 kids, too much money and needs an escape. That being said, she plans to upgrade to a supercharger after the warranty. She was informed by the dealer that she could do headers, exhaust and cold air without voiding the warranty. I would disagree except that she has a good working relationship with the dealer. Too be honest I dont think she was really into cars until she saw my vette. I think she bought the new camaro because her husband doesnt like older vehicles. When I spoke with him he told me that its her car to do what she wants with. I say dont worry about the warranty and have at it. Her goal is 500hp, but I told her short of rebuilding the motor or going with a supercharger it isnt going to happen without voiding the warranty

Hey guys, A friend of mine just bought a 2010 camaro ss and she is looking to add some upgrades. She is thinking cold air intake, exhaust, possibly headers and a tune. She wants to have it done at a shop but she really wants a reputable shop, unfortunately I don't have any that I would recommend> anyone have any place that impressed them. She lives on the south side of Chicago, but if she found a good shop I don't think she would be apposed to traveling. Any suggestions are always appreciated.

Matt I just wanted to thank you again for your continued help with my car. I replaced the fuel pump thanks to your great pictures and instructions and then continued on to replace the radiator, electric fan and switch to a 180 thermostat. I think It took around three or four hours not really sure because I got caught up in a conversation with my elderly neighbor. That being said the car performs much better. Their is a huge difference in power, I am going to fix the fuel line next week along with a leaky transmission compression fitting and then I hope to be problem free

Okay I mentioned the leaky first floor ceiling and I hate to complain But The city was kind enough to finally resurface my street last year, unfortunately it drains into my driveway eventually flooding the garage. My security is very unhappy

That is a fuel pressure gauge. The gauge I am adding is an autometer. Okay just in case I decide to drop the fifty bucks for a new gauge I still need to add a sensor to the head to hook the gauge too. Do I just use a regular temp gauge sensor and run a single wire to it. The only other temp sensor I have is mounted to the manifold and I wasnt going to tap into it since it goes to the computer.

I am going with a mechanical only because thats what I have. I had it sitting around the garage, and I really didnt want to spend the money for an electric. I know its only fifty bucks, just didnt want to spend it there. The reason Im not using the factory gauge is it no longer works. It just reads low along with my oil pressure gauge. Although the oil gauge reads 80-90 the last few days, historically it has just read low.I have replaced both sensors and it has not corrected the issue which led me to believe the gauges where bad at the panel

Is anyone running a mechanical temp gauge? How did you run it into the the car. The only mounting location I have is in the drivers side head. I will have to remove a Pipe plug to install it, but I still haven't figured out where to bring it into the car. My goal is to put it in a pillar mount.

I thought I would throw in a picture of the car just cause I dont have anything relative to add at this time.

Matt it should be about 8 hours, but I am rolling out there with a couple of cars that I rode the Hot Rod Power Tour with. If you have never gone on the power tour it's awesome. We rode out with 12 other cars and I took my youngest son. We met some really great people. I wish I would have met you and flyboy at Bloomington Gold but I went early the first day.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for all the help. I found what I believe is the wire and set the timing to 6 degrees and the car seems to run fantastic. I havnt driven it due to a leaking thermostat housing but I no longer have a floating idle and it seems much stronger. I hope to fix the leak tomorrow so I will let you know how it runs>Still looking for a good tuner though.
