Did you get a billet lid or casting?

As he posted the lid is cast...and flat...

Take your time with the install..a little tedious but not difficult. Most of the runner to plenum bolts you will receive are already slotted if you want to use them.
I went the Auvecco stud route with Kep nuts on the bottom side of the runners.
If you want I can post the Auvecco numbers for the parts.
This makes plenum install easy..Using them means you will not remove the lid probably ever again

Think of this install like making a layer cake..one layer at a time..As I said in an email the only reason I put this up for sale was to go forward with the EBL flash computer..No more burning chips for me..
As bogus said you might want to have it powder coated or poli$ed..Me I would paint it HiTemp Aluminum and callit a day..Be sure to get a long M6 ball end allen makes life real easy for the lower runner bolts. You will not have to remove any rocker arms.BTW the crappy rusting allen heads have been replaced with stainless button heads..

To be honest the rest of the car is basically new. Did alot ofprep work knowing this was going to happen. J55 brakes, all poly suspension,Dewitts rad and fan, rear end reseal, ujoints, all sensors, repaired any harness defects etc.
This has occured over the last five years.Car has excellent paint, nice interior. In 2010 it was a celeberty pick at Carlisle. It also appeared in Corvette Enthusiast mag in May 2010. I am a bit anal about the condition but it ain't no garage queen...it has its share of stone chips.I just prefer a C4. Can I afford the C6 that I would purchase...Yes. Do I want it? Nope...

My name is Mike...I have an affliction for shiney tools.
I have been buying them for 42 years.
Latest purchase was a transmission jack and Happy Hooker for my engine, trans and rear end swap. I hope to never use them again.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The motor was spec'd for driveability and idle quality. It will definatlty produce some torque. The old L98 was getting tired so I figured why not.But then got to thinking about the 25 yo trans sooo....
Ya know the rest of the deal. Hope to get the tune well on it's way before snow but we are overdue for that. Pete builds a sweet motor. Again, Thanks for the compliments

I have glass beads, alum oxide and want to get some plastic media to play with.

Guess I dated myself with that one...

Cool! Congrats! What are the specs and expected hp/torque?

I am curious myself.
Mike gave me a blank check (so to speak) and I build this one the way I would have build it for myself.
This one should run much quicker than the 383 I had under my hood. Better heads, cam, etc than my junk.
Mike is also running my trans and 9.5 inch converter.
MSeven is doing the tuning, so he is in great shape.

Once it is dialed in, beat it hard!

I am curious too....Once it is dialed in and broken in we'll get some numbers.Unfortunatly my corporate America job limits my wrenching time but progress is steady..Trying to get some tuning in before winter shuts me down.Specs:
385 cu in
AFR 195 Streets 65CC
218/224 comp billet cam
1.6 comp ultra pro rockers
Melrose headers and 3" exhaust with x pipe and bullet cats
Corsa muffs
Super Ram
PeteK trans with 9.5 convertor
3.07 rear
R&R by the one man band
Many thanks to Pete and all the others along the way who helped out

It was great to meet you too Don.The weather did turn early Sunday morning.I was tired and stayed Saturday night to leave early Sunday morning. Mistake... ended up driving home in this for 380 miles with 40 to 60mph swirling crosswinds..Nerve wracking to say the least. Lucky to make it thru the last pic as ALL roads in that that county were closed shortly after we passed thru.

OK...did some detective work at Carlisle. It appears that these boots were used in '85 and '86 only and no one could explain why. When ever I had time to find Gordon to ask him about it he was doing a seminar or busy at his booth.
My search continues to check for late '86 cars with aluminum heads.

So I have a question for Don or PeteK.

What package do I pre register for??

I'm not there to get my car judged, race or anything.

We are there to park the car and see the people/vendors/show.

Looking at driving up Saturday morning, seeing the show Saturday, sleep at the hotel Staurday night, a little bit more of the show Sunday and driving home Sunday afternoon/evening.

thanks
Will

The best value is to register for the Fun Field. Admission for two and parking is included...$60 bucks.

I'll be there.. Meeting up with PeteK,WW7,Ray Quayle and others I've met over the years. Much to my surprise I received a Celeberty Pick last year. Hope to see you all there

First off, I can be arrested for deciding NOT TO FLY?

And what happened to our 4th Amendment right?

I'm beginning to think the TSA is becoming the "national police".
Didn't the Germans have a national police force?

Wasn't that group called the Gestapo?
Formed by who? And for what purpose?

This isn't just about body searches anymore.

I never saw you by the car even with the many times I passed by. I would like to discuss your blower install sometime and see if it might be something I would want to do.
The crew I hang with now included several C5 Z06s, C6 Z06s, one Grand Sport convertible and a brand new red ZR1. I would at least like to be able to keep them in sight when they pull away from me on a street run!

I followed that thread Pete. The guy is a real azz to say the least. Your skills are undeniable and I have seen your work in person and spoken to you in person.

While he may have knowledge he appears to be an internet "nutswinger".
As a retired ASE Master Tech your skills in assembly practices are impeccible.
After working with Machinists for many years I was happy to see your guy reply... the pics and his skills look to be above and beyond. We can all always learn something thru peaceful discussion. Just my .02 on the subject.
We still need to talk about a motor.

Just track down a stock LT1 exhaust system... There is a Corvette recycler in Indiana, Tiber(sp?). Or even calling Vette2vette.

The thing is, stock LT1 is a throwaway piece. Hell, wait until the next Corvettes at Carlisle and when they are doing exhaust installs, see if you can snag up on one!

You will need brackets and they are cheap enough. There is a front bracket, two middle brackets and two muffler hangers.

Easy.

Get the LTs and have them adapted with bullet cats to the stock LT1 exhaust.

The installers at Carlisle wont touch anything from the C4 Gen. Only C5 & C6. Redheaded stepchildren again....

Didn't read too far into the rules but how or whom sets the value of the car?

As far as I am concerned they would be better off to dump them all in the ocean and create a new reef and habitat for fish. Contrary to the popular belief I think Toyota builds crappy cars.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way.
I rent a car typically once or twice a week. So you can imagine I get to drive quite the assortment of cars.
Every single time I get a toyota, it seems to be a piece of shit. Loose steering, rattles and an overall "old" feeling to it, even though it has 3 or 4 thousand miles on it.
I don't get the Toyota thing.

Used to drive rentals every week when travling on business.
Drove ALL the major brands. Most all were low mileage POS's
Toyotas were the worst. I know I usualy "drove 'em like I stole em".

Saw on the news that the spare tire could fall out of the Tundra. What about the rest of the frame?
