I need some assistance from some one who does own a C1 corvette, specifically a 58' - 60'.

What is the ride height or distance from the floor to the bottom of the frame at the middle of the door.

Thanks for all the help.

I had spoken to Car Creations and the lady asked for me to email her my questions.

But if some one can just let me know what the distance is between the top of the tire to the fender lip, on a C1 corvette.

That would be a great help, thanks guys!!

Matatk, I would appreciate any contact info from any expert.

Bogus, I have an assembly manual but not well written or coppied. It appears that 53 years ago they didn't keep the records like we do now lol.

Thanks guys.

Hi guys, thanks for the input.

I actually need the numbers off the C1 Corvette. I need to make sure that when the wheel is turned and may bounce, it doesn't hit the fender.

You guys may have seen me post here already.
I have a 59' that was altered due to the previous owner looking to turn it into a dragster. So i am rebuilding the car back to original, well almost.

I am graphting in a 90' C4 front and rear suspension but need a few measurements if some one can help me out.

I need to know what the ride height of the following:
1) The bottom of the body at the door to the floor.
2) The distance between the top of the tire and the fender
lip.
3) And the disctance from the fender lip to the floor.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help.

So does that mean it's 6" from the ground to the bottom of the frame? and the body itself is an inch lower?

If you can measure right in front of the rear tire and right behind the front tire, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks guys for all the help.

Ok, so I wanted to make the bottom of my frame be 6" to the ground. Is that acceptable or can I go lower? As low as 5", would that be possible for the frame? Not the body itself?

Thanks guys.

Hi guys,

So I am doing a resto mod to my 59' and some may already be aware and know me. I am graphting in a C4 1990' suspension system and am curious what's the biggest wheel that you have or have seen under the body. Will an 8" wide tire work? on an 18" x 8" rim?

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi guys,

Can I get some info on the frame (bottom) to the floor (ground) clearence. What is the normal height. I know tire and suspension affect that number. But what is your stock height if it rolled off the factory yesterday.

Thanks for the info.

So I am grafting in a C4, 1990 front and rear suspension to my 59' Vette. The car was aquired froom some one who wanted to turn it into a drag car. So I have a good reference point, what is the frame height off the ground (assuming that we are using stock tires).

So bottom of frame to ground.

Thanks guys for the help.

Thank you. I sent you a PM. Would you be willing to forward me the CAD dwgs. I use the program myself. It'll help with my build.

Fiberglass HELP!!!

Hello All,

I am new to the board and wanted to see if I can get some advice on a little issue i have with my 59' Corvette.

I am doing a body off restoration and had left the body under a tap next to the garage. The bricks caused the top of the fenders (where the chrome strip rests coming from the headlights) to dip down a little. I didn't expect the fiberglass to flex that easily.

Can any one help in correcting the issue? Not looking to bring it to a body shop. I feel I could correctly fix the dip.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

I'd be interested in seeing cunningham's sketches. Does any one know how to get a hold of him? I'm also a geeky engineer that enjoys doing this to lol.

Hello all,

I am new to the forum/site and hope i am posting this in the correct area.

I have a C1 corvette that I want to modify and graft in the suspension from a 1990 C4. I was wondering if I could get two questions answered here.

1) What is the degree angle from front to back of the upper control arm where it bolts to the cradle. I was told 15 degress but would like that confirmed.

2) What is the angle of the bracket that holds the two dog bones in place (on the frame) at the rear suspension.

Remember the refernce angle should be that the ground is level.

I'll be making up a cad profile and will share for all to see when I'm done. hopefully it'll be helpfull to all who want to upgrade and update their rides.

Thank you for the help.
