Well, I pulled the codes and I think I found my miss. I pulled codes H33 and H34, IIRC. Map high and Map low. I ordered a new one from Rock auto, along with the connector, which disintegrated when I tried to disconnect it. The check engine light was not illuminated. A bad Map can cause a misfire due to improper fuel being delivered. I hope this cures the problem.

Ah, copy that Bogus... So, does it attach to a vacuum line anywhere? I have to be honest with you Bogus, I could really care less about emissions. Just more regulation from an out of control special interest agency, it's main purpose appears to be to bankrupt the U.S. and infringe on peoples freedoms...

The picture didn't post. It's a vacuum line on the heater line above the steering shaft.

Good day Gris and all. I got to drive my Corvette to work today all legal like. I thought I posted about it but it didn't take. Foggy and cool this morning, but the drive home should be fun after working a 12. Tommy, If the swelling lasts more than a few hours, you should get it checked out. Good day all.

Exactly, It's usually $1 more per gallon, but worth it.

I was going to drive my Corvette to work today but it was raining. So I drove the truck, I finally got the Corvette straightened out and inspected. It's good to be legal again! Matatk, I hate soy days!

Yes, but I already bought the plugs! Bogus, that is great news! I hope that genius has good security... History has proven that changes can be dangerous. Matak, I have an Atari 2600...

Oh well, ya'll ain't gonna believe this... I already did the plugs, about 7 years ago. I put in NGK Iridiums. I started pulling them out, I started with cylinder #4 on the passenger side, easiest to get to. It didn't seem very tight, wire brushed it and put it back. Cylinder #2 was less than finger tight! All kinds of evidence of blow by. All the plugs took about 1/2 a turn. After they were tightened I fired her up. She runs fine! Thanks be to God for answered prayers! I was letting my mind wander into expensive territory. All it needed was tightened up
I've been running this car for years after putting new plugs in and they just loosened up. Must be an aluminum head thing. Thanks guys.

Bogus, E90 is enthanol free "off road" gas. If you want your chainsaw to start at 10 below, you use E90. It's the only fuel I run in the IROC.

I filled the tank with E90 and drove it for a few miles, no change. It seems to miss once it's warmed up, could be an 02 sensor? It isn't throwing any codes.

Well, I got my new tires on, now my car has a hard miss. I was thinking about changing the plugs, they don't have too many miles on them. They are AC Delcos. I just wondering if anyone has any feedback on their favorite plugs. The car has been barely used in the last 2 or 3 years. I think that might be the problem. I was wondering if I should just try driving it, see if she works herself out! Thanks.

Thanks, things are going very well! Watching your 7 year old daughter doing cartwheels in a freshly plowed field is priceless. I got the headlights fixed, the new Nitto's will be here in a couple of days. I took your advice Bogus, I have driven the 95 around a little with her, ah, vintage inspection sticker. I didn't want to buy the chinese tires but they were all I could find for my repro ZR1 wheels. I thought about going back to the stock wheels but that would have required a re alignment. I'm really looking forward to driving my Corvette again, and thanks for the replies!

How are you all getting by? My life has changed quite a bit lately. I managed to retire and get my family the hell out of the city. We bailed at the beginning of the scamdemic. We moved to a 30 acre farm in a very rural area. My 1995 Corvette was in storage for over a year. The worst thing you can do to a car is let it sit. She is making strange noises and the drivers side headlamp is screwing up. I still got her inspected. My road is now a dirt road, so I don't take her out much. I got a little bit of a signal so I stopped in and did some reading. The last year has been very busy. Anyhow, the china virus caught up with us last week, and we got quarantined. My wife got really sick, my symptoms are just annoying. And to put the cherry on top, my six year old managed to give herself a concussion trying to get her tomahawk out of a target. Just the ramblings of an old retired guy on his front porch while smoking his pipe. How is everyone else doing?

I use color plus products for my leather restoration. I did the seats in my 94 and they still look new. Do a search on Color-Plus, they are in Middleton Pa. The website explains everything. Ciao.

So I fired up the '95 to go see the chiropractor. It is the second time she has been out this year. About halfway there, check engine light comes on. I'm thinking great. The car runs fine and I get there with no problem. I jump back in to head on home, check engine light is off. I'm like, cool. I'm coming back across the West End bridge and the light comes back on and she bucks a little in first gear. I'm in rush hour traffic so this was a pain. I'm not concerned because I have my scan tool at home. I finally get the light at the bridge and 2 open lanes in front of me! The light turns green and bam, traction control off and I nail it. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Zooom! I look down at the speedo, just to make sure I'm doing a felony and the speedo says Zero. I'm like, Damn. It's no fun if you don't know your going 110 mph. I got home, plugged in the scan tool and it won't even turn on. I tried it on my truck and it works fine. The car seems to run fine just no speedo, and no link or even power with the scan tool. Where do I start. Any one have this problem before? Thanks.

Well, I tore it down... The only thing that failed was the waterpump to block gaskets. I put her all back together and she runs and cools fine but now I have no heat in the cabin. She is running right at 230 and I have burped and bled her several times, the heater lines are full of coolant but still no heat. Any ideas? Thanks!

Well next week it's going up into the 50s here in Pa. Looks like time to tear it down... Still no plan. My freind is a real mechanic and says he can get me a new rebuilt pump for 150. Oh well it'll get me through the summer...maybe.

I wanted to do it myself as I don't trust most of the rebuilds. Most are remaned in china. Bummer. And Bogus my car is a 95, it should be the same right?

Hi, As everyone else does I replaced my stock pump when I did my Opti. I used a pump from Advance. Well less than 8k on the dang thing and it failed. Luckily I saved my original water pump. It was not worn out. Does anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit for it? I would like to keep the original but would like it in new condition before I go through what it takes to get it in there! I don't want another suspect rebuilt! Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks Guys, No I didn't paint it in my garage. No rust at all but dings on every panel! I have a friend who is a pro and he let me work on it in his shop after hours since I'm a poor civil servant. He did the actual painting. Stats are: L98, 083 heads ported by me (read several books and Vids)3angle valve job, viton seals. Ported and ceramic plated stock intake and plenum, 1205 gasket matched everything including water ports, ported SLP runners, 1 3/4 SLP headers, 1.6 GMPP roller rockers, LT4 springs, locks, and retainers. Billet double roller timing chain and gears. 700R4 with a B&M kit. 24# injectors and for now a Hypertech thermomaster chip. It runs pretty good, I think the valves need re-adjusted as we set them up cold and new. The wife hit 127mph in it already! She's a nut and has way too much faith in me and my mechanical ability! Oh, also D+S cad plated rotors, all new wheel bearings, brake lines, calipers and Wagner pads (not thrilled with them) New interior with heated seats and probly a lot of stuff I can't remember right now, 5 years is a long time. Thanks for the replies!
