I just wanted to thank you guys for all of the help over the last 7 years, both here and over on CF. Frustation finally got the best of me and I traded in my '93 for a Toyota FJ Cruiser 4x4 today. I know, I know, I'll miss it in a couple of weeks, but it just wasn't practical anymore. I'll still be checking in because you guys are great. Until we meet again, God bless all of you. The rating on these injectors is highly debated. Alvin never returned my call, so I sent him an e-mail discussing the problem. What's weird is that when I got home, I put the old chip back in. The BLMs were really low! Like 108-115. WTF? I drove it for awhile and the BLMs were 128 and 134. Almost perfect. I'm dazed and confused. I bought some new plug wires also. As soon as it gets dark, I'll fire here up again and see where the light show is coming from.

I discovered another screw-up on my part. On my order form, I listed 26 lb SVO injectors. They are blue-tops, so they should be 24lb., right? This would greatly contribute to the really high BLMs, right? I'm waiting for Alvin to call me back and discuss.

A couple of new thoughts. I didn't mention it, but my air conditioning blower wouldn't respond today. Also, it just got dark, so I went out to fire her up. First thing that I noticed was my interior lights wouldn't come on. Strange. After starting, I saw an intermittent flash of light coming from somewhere down around the opti. Then I saw a very occasional flash of light towards the back of the engine. I'm thinking that my plug wires are shot. Sound like something that would make me fail emissions? What a PITA!

About 4 years ago, I had a Hotcam and ported heads installed. Since then, my '93 has always stunk and run rich. I managed to pass emissions before, but this time I failed. I've had trouble with split BLMs, usually around 135-145. Today, I received a new chip from Alvin. Started up, idled fine, and ran good. However, the stink would kill a skunk. BLMs are no longer split, they are both at 161! I checked what I could with my Autoxray and fuel pressure gauge. TPS at 0.54, fuel pressure 43 psi with no vaccum, 36 with vacume (how in the hell do you spell that word?) The only other thing that Alvin's directions say to check is the IAC voltage. I can't find anything in the FSM on how to do that. Can I even do anything to it with a '93? HELP. If I can't pass emissions, this car is history.

I work on an Indian reservation, so it goes without saying that you don't even mention Columbus around here. But we do get 2 different Native American days off and just about every other imaginable holiday off, so I can't complain.

Mine failed this morning too. It's always run pig-rich, but a little sea-foam has always gotten it through before. I'm getting pretty sick of this piece of plastic.

OK. My name is Marcus and I'll be 58 next month. I was born in western Massachusetts, but we moved to the desert in 1958. I live in Scottsdale, AZ in the house that my parents bought new in '58.
I've never had any friggin' wife or kids (and the Corvette is not a chick magnet). I am fairly conservative and became a Roman Catholic three years ago. Besides Corvettes, I like 4-wheeling, camping, shooting, fishing and Canadian whiskey. I've spent the last 6 years spending all of my money modding the Corvette, that I have ignored my poor '97 Taco. So now I am spending my money on it. Added larger wheels, ARB bumper and Warn winch. Where will this stop?

I've been told that there is a slight difference in the different sawblades, but I can't remember what it is. The J55 is somewhere between the stock brakes and the C5. The DRM bias spring does make a big difference if you upgrade.

I'll go out on a limb and guess that the C5 brakes will not fit your stock rims. That is one reason so many people went with GS replicas. The J55 upgrade barely fit my stock '93 sawblades. If they don't fit, you should be ok with the J55 upgrade, some Hawk pads and a new bias spring.

Why do you have to replace the condenser? Is there less space up front in the early C4's? I have a '93 with a Ron Davis radiator, the stock condenser, plus an external tranny cooler and oil cooler in front of that. Everything runs nice and cool, even here in AZ.

JSUP, I think that you are what the FBI refers to as an "outside agitator" (I love it). You reply to legitimate answers very politely. The only people that seem the give you crap are 88Zrxxx (who has been working on his motor since the Reagan administration) and that guy with a mini-gun for his avatar (= he hasn't fired a BB gun since he was 10 years old). I am very interested in how things go with your motor. But, as somebody previously stated, don't burn your bridges. You may have a question about an airfoil or a Vortex.

I've used Interstates in all of my vehicles for years. My second choice would be a Diehard. If you're not racing in Baja, you don't really need to spend the money on an Optima.

EM did my installation for me and put the cats behind the tranny. I had to use heated O2 sensors, but passes emissions.
