Is this a prebuy like the renegade intake manifold? Seriously I might buy one from you. My 85 has a glovebox conversion but my 84 still has the original.

I like the look of those intakes. I think they are more suited to oval tracks and high speed autocross tracks. Sure would look cool under the hood of a crossfire corvette.

The best solution to hide the stripper sting from a stripper that has been in your C4 is to put a dab of gasoline in your interior. That will hide any stripper stink.

The helpful tip of the day.

I had my 85 painted at maaco 2 years ago and still looks good. I cost me $899 and they fixed my driver side window, it was stuck in the down position.

That was a cool topic, why did they close that topic? Anything good or new these forums shut it down. I know these forum is a little more liberal and even lets you post topics from other forums not like CF.

I was just wondering if anybody has bought or seen anything new for the C4. Any custom paint jobs or anything exciting in the C4 corvette hobby? How about a new exhaust system?

I finally have some 1/4 mile times for my renegade equiped crossfire.

My first run with alot of wheel spin netted a 14.87, this run was done letting the auto trans self shift. It shifted to soon. The second run I shifted the auto trans myself and had alot of wheel spin and when I shifted into second it spun again and I got a 14.46. The next run I eased the throttle on with little wheel spin and got a 14.43. But with the less throttle it bogged a little off the line. Next pass I gave it more throttle and had alot of wheel spin and got a 14.39. Pretty good for a stock bottem end with just a K&N, renegade, 2" TB's, shift kit, and a random cat, underdrive pulleys, hypertech chip 180 stat, walker rear y pipe, muffler eliminators, fuel pressure set at 15 psi, timing set at 10. The crossfire has 65,000 miles on it.

14.87 elevation 2100'= 14.50
14.46 elevation 2100'= 14.10
14.43 elevation 2100'= 14.07
14.39 elevation 2100'= 14.04

If waterworld was so bad why did they make a waterworld action show at universal? Believe it or not the show had a full house when I sat through it at universal studios.

What was wrong with waterworld anyway? The guy was half fish, he found land and a bunch of weirdos riding jet skis smoking cigrettes, what could go wrong?

By the way after waterworld jetski sales dropped by 60%.

What makes this intake system so special? Does it produce more power than a superram? It says 50 hp 50 lb/ft of torque, is that more than a superram? How much does it flow per runner?

I currently have 2.73's in my 85 vette and I can still turn over the tires from a stop but I think I could use a little more gear. I still think the 3.54 gears would be good.

Don't be a sheep and do what everyone else does, the 3.07 rear is boring, it is good for the 1/4 mile if your don't have any power adders. 3.07 rear keeps the L98 in its power range when traveling a 1/4 mile. But in your case, driving around town, you need that extra gearing to impress chicks when you light em up. You will have a blast with the 3.54 gears or the 3.73 gears. Doing 65 mph with 3.73 depending on tire size you will be at 2300 rpm and with 3.54 you will be at 2200 rpm. If it were me I would probably get the 3.54 gears, I live in the country so it is mostly 60+ mph but for you I would go with 3.73 in the city unless you hit the drag strip, but most vette owners don't even live near a drag strip or even go to one on a regular basis. You will think you added 100 hp with the new gears and wondered why you didn't do it sooner. Remember the old muscle cars and vettes of the 60's had 4.11 gearing in some and they produced the same power as the L98 vettes so go for it, they didn't complain about a few extra rpm back then why complain now.

You should rock the original ruby hard. If you like the color of the earlier vettes just buy another vette, it is cheaper to buy another vette than it is to change the color of yours. I have two vettes, its not weid to have more than one vette, hit ebay people are hurting right now, score another vette cheap.

Ok, first of all Jeffvette can post anytime all the time and post what ever he wants, that is hands down the greatest little picture to the left I have seen on any forum, what ever he says goes. I just wanted to some extra power out of my crossfire, If I knew how to remove the crossfire and install a carb I would but this renegade is a direct replacement(easy). If it sucks I would sure like to know how to go to a carb and which carb and intake that will fit and how to make the setup work with the trans. Does the computer work with the carb?

So when you guys saw your first pizza, did you have to get a proven data sheet that it tastes good or wait to read about the taste numbers on a forum or did you just buy it and try it?

Same thing as a renegade. Crossfire owners should jump at the chance to improve their cars not stand on the side lines and say the crappy stock intake is the best and no one can come up with something better.

I take risks, I play the stock market, hit the casinos, and buy lottery tickets, why not pre order a intake manifold, what is the big deal its only $460. You will spend more in costco in a day.

If you don't want to buy one than just say so, but don't point fingers and laugh at what other people are buying or doing, what do you get out of that? Is it self satisfying to make fun of or hurt other people or to try and screw with someones business?

I think the renegade will poduce around the same numbers as the x-ram, BUT!, the x-rams peak 36 hp is at the top end and nothing on the bottem end, The renegade will produce good low end torque and good mid range torque and taper off a little in the high end. So over all I think the renegade will be a better intake than the x-ram based on the over all tourque curve. You should get a better launch and pull threw the mid range and the x-ram will give more on the top end by that time you will have shifted to the next gear and pulling away from the car with the x-ram.

I will try this new manifold and if 'm not impressed I will run my poted stock crossfire intake manifold instead, but until then I will remain hopeful on the new intake.

A really smart guy designs a new intake for a tough car to make improvements on. He had to deal with the low hood, goofy crossfire setup, injectors facing the wrong way, and a just weak running setup to begin with.
He made a major improvement from the original intake. Why is there so much negative comments on something you guys know nothing about. The whole reason why they havn't shown the inside of the intake and the data numbers is so they can get their intake into production before someone copies.

WOW!!!!, that is some serious info. In the picture the runners look shorter on one side, it just might be me.

Would there be a benefit to cut the tops of the ports back a bit, kind of taper them so the fuel can get in easier?

The EGR, once removed did you notice anything with milege or codes or any problems?
Why did you sand blast it? To ruff it up a bit or just to clean it?

Thanks alot best write up I have ever seen.

I think you should just take it down a notch, this thread is about porting an intake. If you have experience in porting a crossfire intake you are welcome to share. It would be most helpful to stay on topic, you could always start a new topic if you wish.

I thought this thread was about the renegade intake manifold for 82 & 84 corvette owners. I purchased one and wanted to let other crossfire owners know about it. If 90 people buy this intake they will be made, if not there will be no new intake, and I will have to port my stock intake instead or try to get my x-ram intake working.

I'm not a salesman or share holder just a guy interested in an easier way to get some performance out of my crossfire.

from your post I take it you have tried this intake, have it on the car now, or ??
33 rwhp would be a significant gain, I own an intake that the original mfg. claimed was a 75-120hp. bolt on gain. While it is a good intake, the hp. claims are something else.

I am waiting for my intake to be made, I'm on a wait list. 33 HP is what the prototype did on a 82 vette, so I think if I get around that I will be happy.

What intake gives 75-120, miniram?

Just to see what I can get out of a ported intake while waiting for my renegade intake.

I have a stock crossfire intake manifold I will be porting, where are the water jackets running? Are they on the lower part of the runners? My plan is to open up the port to match the gasket and to remove as much material on the inside of the runners. I will also shorten the runners from the inside and cut the top of the runners open about 1/2 inch from the start of the runner from the inside. I will remove the EGR hump as well. After removing the EGR hump, is there any welding needed? I will also remove the swirl viens to aid in air flow. Any other suggestions to achieve maximum power out of this stock intake manifold?

FINALLY!!! It has been said.

According to the quote, the Renegade manifold will slow my car down.

This particular revelation comes from someone who is enthralled with, but has no knowledge of this manifold other than the hype of the producers. Producers, by the way, that have been known to make false, impossible, claims for items they advertised.

I wouldn't come out and say this manifold isn't worth it, but if past actions of the sellers aren't to be ignored, it makes sense to look closely, before wasting your money.

RACE ON!!!

This thread is about purchasing a new intake to improve the crossfire not about CFI-EFI telling it like it is inside his head, sounds like he has a problem with the seller of the intake not the intake itself. CFI-EFI should start a performance automotive business, he seems to be the authority on everything including an intake he knows nothing about.

RACE ON!!!

Porting the stock intake will not give you the amount of air needed for the engine to perform properly. The renegade runners are 20% larger than the stock manifold. With the renegade your crossfire will perform similar to a TPI and any other mods will just make it faster.

You can pre-order your renegade intake manifold for your 82 & 84 crossfire corvettes. Just go to "dynamic crossfire solutions" and place your order. 33 rear wheel HP gain with just the intake manifold and all your stock components bolt right up to it.

You don't care about originality? What about those tacky gold stickers they hand out at bloomington?

$h!tbox, like at the corvette shows when you pull up to park some where and the official says park the $h!tbox around back. They never have the C4 vettes up front.
