I plan to paint my valve covers and air cleaner on my 1984 Cross Fire engine. What paint was on the car originally? I stripped the aluminum valve covers today and there was two layers of paint. The outer paint was a textured pewter color. Under that was smooth aluminum or silver paint.

IIRC, the parts in question are magnesium.

Ecklers sells the EXACT match colour you need.
