Good Morning CGs!

Supposed to be a rainy day here in the morning (already has been), and hot and humid in the afternoon. Not too pleasant. Hopefully I'll get to pick up my car from the dealer today. It's my last day of work before a long weekend. I'm running a race tomorrow and have a total of 4 days off (nice!). Gonna try to tinker with the vette if some stuff comes in the mail.

Talked to Rick last night for a bit. He's in good spirits, trying to keep positive (as much as one can). Wake is tonight and funeral is tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! Very pleasant morning here, especially after yesterday. We had heat, humidity, strong thunderstorms and tornadoes - at least a couple people were killed in a small town in central MN.

Our best to Rick and his family. I still miss my grandma, and she's been gone for 41 years.

The big Back to the 50's car show is this weekend - 10-12,000 street rods and classic cars cruising all over town, with the show at the MN State Fair grounds. I saw a few of them out and about yesterday, always a treat.

Have a good week, everybody - gonna be hopping on a plane in a few hours.

Went to bed late. Stayed up and watched the Lakers/Celtics final. I haven't lived in Boston for over 35 years but I still felt a tinge of remorse when the final buzzer went off. I don't get to heavily invested emotionally in team sports any more. For me it was just mental masturbation and time consuming. Can't seem to get too much done lately with this oppresive heat. After 12:00 I try to stay indoors or in an air conditioned environment. Afternoons are a great opportunity to take a nice long nap. Wife went to one of her doctors yesterday. She has to see a neurologist then it's back to the cutting room. This will be her 54th surgery coming up. To those of you that have good health, be grateful. To those of you that have health issues be grateful too. It beats the alternative. Have a gureat day ........

Good Morning!!

It is a pleasant sunny day in the Nations Capitol today! I hope to get out of here early today as I am going nuts. As you might remember I have been doing my boss's job, plus my own for the past week and a half. Things are going well, but I need a freakin' break... soon!

Brad - I Googled the Car Show you are talking about, that is way too cool. I dream of doing a show that big some day! I want to do a show of that magnitude on the National Mall in DC. I'd like to fill the mall up with Rods, Customs and Race cars to show America's love of the Automobile. Say you read it here first because that is my idea and I want to do that one day... my dream!!!

Yea, googled BTT 50's. I love the rods. We have a bunch of mini shows coming up before the big one in August.

Brad we want some pics.

Beautiful weather here, max daytime humidity - 24% (a bit high).

Very hot sunny day in the southern states (at least mine) today, was around 100 yesterday, got a call from the old job and they are hiring me freelance to do a project for them. Some of it I will be working out of their office with my computer. Talk about awkward....
But hey, money is money...
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, Gurus!

Very happy that the Lakers won last night, despite it being a very poorly played game on both sides.

Also just watched the end of the US-Slovenia World Cup match, which has just ended with a tie, which is a whole lot better than losing and keeps them alive.

I need to do a little work this morning to submit for a proposal, some other work scheduling trainings, and then I have an appt with my rheumatologist. I sure feel for your wife, Tommy, but she is such a trooper - nothing will keep her down!

We've got June gloom this mornning, but should burn off nice and sunny by lunchtime.

Happy Friday!

had a flood in the house last night, looks like thousands in damage, toilet water line burst when we were not home
water removal company is here with big honkin fans and stuff. last night sounded like a airboat was arriving in the front room.

I wish it'd get a little hotter, i like it when the blacktop gets warm enough to allow you to leave footprints.

Hegira member a time when you could see a movie, get a pop and a bag of popcorn for 75 cents. I think minimum wage then was about a dollar an hour. It was an 8 oz cup of soda and a small bag of popcorn. Way before super-sizing. We all can see what super-sizing has led too.

Good morning Gurus....praying for you Rick. The wake service is usually tougher than the funeral, at least it was for me. Tommy, give your wife my best thoughts. Sounds as though she has gone through quite a bit. Brad, that sounds like a cool time.

Me, I need to finish up some counter tops today and try to get them installed. Other than that I am just bearing the heat.

I'm glad to be back in San Diego after spending most of the week in Texas... 95 degrees and HUMID. Ugh. The 65F breeze that hit me when I left the SD airport gave me frostbite.

That sucks! Make sure the replacment line has enough slack and doesn't stress the ends. The stainless braided are stronger but also stress the ends more. They also have auto-shutoff lines but those are actually more likely to fail.
