Good morning everyone.
Last night I went to the CCU to visit a childhood friend of my wife. Oddly enough, I worked with this person some 23 years ago and have interacted with them at different social functions. She apparrently suffered a stroke earlier in the week, is around 50 years old, married and has a couple of kids. One thing about living is seeing people dying or suffering near death experiences as you get older. Many are the result of lifestyle choices. This is the case with this person. Drinking, drugging and smoking unabated will let you know when you've gone too far. One day, the body flips a switch and if you think you felt bad on those morning afters, there are a whole new bunch of surprises still in store for you if your one of the lucky ones. Others will get the some news from an unwelcome visitor. So remember, we are what we eat and drink. Moderation has it's benefits. Hope you all get to live long and prosper.

Good Morning CGs!

We had a terrible storm pass through earlier, maybe 4 am? I don't know, but it was loud/strong enough that the thunder was shaking the house! Three days ago the storms were bad enough that a few twisters touched down in the burbs out here by me. Crazy weather. I just hope the rain doesn't affect the car show too much.

Wife and I had the evening to ourselves last night so decided to hit the casino. For some reason it wasn't fun. Weird. I played the tables for maybe 30 minutes and I was done. Walked away before I got stupid and just threw all my money away. I can't tell you why it wasn't enjoyable, just wasn't. So we played slots for a few more minutes and my wife wasn't having fun either. Nothing was hitting, so no fun. We only walked away $30 lighter which is nothing so I can't complain, but we were there only an hour. After that we grabbed some late dinner and then went shopping at my wife's favorite store, Kohls. Ya, I know. Got home it was 10 and we were pretty dead. Still nice to spend some away time from the rugrat.

Howdy! I got back from Manila this afternoon - man, that trip kicked my ass! At least on the flight from Tokyo there was nobody next to me, so I had a little elbow room. I hope to sleep like a baby tonight. I won't miss all the security they had over there. When the car would pull up to the hotel, the driver had to stop and pop the trunk, and a guard would search the trunk and look at the underside of the car with a mirror, checking for bombs. Entering the hotel, my bags were inspected and checked by a bomb-sniffing dog. Every shopping area and office building had security like this to some degree, and it gets tiresome. Traffic there makes Mexico look sane. I did like the San Miguel beer they make there, gonna have to see if anybody carries it locally. Meanwhile, I plan to drive the Vette to the DQ tonight and hit the hay early.
