This is an update of the original post. I have since reached out to GM and they were kind enough to give me data back to 2003! This thread will be updated yearly; this keeps all data in one place.

I saved it in Excel 2003 format, most should be able to read that.

Some interesting numbers, eh?

Special thanks to the gang at the Factory for sharing these numbers.

I can't believe the low numbers of base cars sold.. The base coupe is such a bargain for the HP and handling.

It's the economy.

Figure that the Corvette's main demographic is from 50-65, middle class blue collar type.

Their wealth has been tied up in either 401k's or their house. Once they both crashed and lost all value, they had no money to buy their new Vette with.

Here is what I have seen: Older guy retires, sells family estate in the north, he and wife retire to a smaller/cheaper place in the south, and then take the difference and buy a Vette.

Guess what... can't sell what people ain't buying.

Ya, Sign of the times. Budget downsizing isn't only for the gubment anymore. Sales will improve when the economy improves and that ain't saying much. Corvette may well be in for a challenge. I see lean times for a couple more years and probably longer.

I agree, a lot of things have changed and until the gov't gets thier house in order certain sectors of the economy will be a long time getting it together....

There are a ton of great C5's and C6's available for real good prices......so why pay all that money for a new one?

The C7 better be a home run or production will stay down for a long time....

Doesn't include Z06 or ZR1 numbers?

Looks to be a little better than last year. Especially the GS coupe. Glad to see Z06 #'s up also. Maybe one in my distant future.
