Good Morning CGs!

Lots of rain outside. Rained last night, supposed to get more today. High of 71 though, so that's ok with me. I'll take rain over snow in March any day of the week!

Gas prices are driving me nuts. Went up another dime yesterday. WTF? It's now $4.49 by my house. That's in the suburbs. Higher other places (downtown add about $.30). So what are you guys paying for basic 87 octane (10% ethanol blend)?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Last I looked around $3.89. Could be higher now though

Great way to end a recession, huh?

I wonder what the price of eggs in China is right about now?

Speaking of rain ....... I hope to have a day that people won't rain on my parade today. Yesterday I got little done thanks to wifey and sonny. Seems they had other plans for my so called free time. We'll see how today progresses (or regresses). It is all about the family, right?

NWS .... NWS .... NWS .....

Good Morning all.

Gas in my neighborhood actually came down a dime to $3.89. I was chatting with the checkout girl when it hit $3.99 and she told me they "had to raise prices because they were so much lower than the other stores, cars were lined up and the cashiers couldn't get anything done but ring up gas."

Supposed to be another 80 degree day here today then the temps fall for the next several days.

Looks like a good weekend to get lots of chores done.

Pricing. I believe it Ken. That's why there is no line at some gas stations. Guess you have to pay for the convenience.

Uh Tommy......the recession isn't over and its going to get worse........wow how negative is that? I need to put on my happy face now.........there, ok lets start over.....

Good morning Guru's it is Friday.....yay yay.....and we have lots of work to do and am glad of it. Ag is good but I have seen the other side trust me. In the 80's we lost a business it got so bad. So I know how fast things can turn around in any line of work. What kinda jobs are recession proof other than drug dealers and Ho's? I will have to think about that......

Changed out the fan belts on the C5 yesterday so I am running out of things to do for the driving season....which is good because its all about driving them long and far with lots of good music and laughing, good food and company...that's what I think anyway...

Garbage day, gotta get it hauled out to the dumpster....go for it today Guru's, time waits for no man....

Happy Friday!

Last I looked, it was around $3.89 for basic, and $4.14 for premium-- and rising. Seems like a bargin compared to what Matt's having to pay..

We run premium in the wifes Rover, and it cost $75 bucks to fill it up the other day...

I don't even know where the fuel prices are around here. It was 3.87 last I checked for E10. We gotta have it to do the work.....but there is no reason it should be so high except for the man made shortage created while they switch over to the summer blends.......and just to rip us off.

I did contract gas and diesel this year so I am somewhat protected, but that is nuts what you are paying up there Matt....

Happy Friday! Drizzling off and on here, fine by me as long as it clears up before tomorrow morning's tee-time. Gonna start working on losing the 3-dozen new golf balls I have sitting in the basement. Regular gas is $3.65-3.75 here. I still have last fall's cheaper gas in the Vette, and just got the bill for this year's license tabs - $47 and change - so it's the most economical car to drive.

Have a good day, all!

Thursday is 5 cents off a gallon of gas day out here at Casey's. You don't want to be standing in the way when folks start lining up for the cheaper fuel. That's a nickle a gallon off.....so on a 20 gal fill you save a buck....which is fine but if you filled up every week and saved that buck you would have 52 bucks........which you can drop on one fast food meal feeding the family.

I don't get it, people are lined up and crowding in, tempers are flairing.....I am all for saving but in the end it isn't amounting to enough to put up with all that.....

I hope that doesn't come off as arrogant......

I don't hear any arrogance. Many a night I check prices on the way home and then just stop at the store nearest to home even if it is the highest. Realizing that the .03 difference only adds up to .45 overall. Not worth getting all fired up.

My BIL used to drive 20 miles to buy chicken at $0.49 a lb back in the olden days. He wasted all his savings on gas and time. Saving a buck is hardly worth saving a buck sometimes.

At one grocery chain store here, if you buy $100 in groceries, you get a card that gives you $0.50 per gal at their pump. And no, they don't have the price jacked up.

evening guys....I've been a busy boy again today. Got up early and went down to the parts store to get the plugs and wires for the wife's Bonneville. Came home and started putting them in. I was dreading the back side of the engine, so I started there. Went on a Bonneville site and they had some tips on how to get to those. The worst part was pulling the wire off #6. An hour and a half later the plugs and wires were done. Then I started on another project on the Bonneville, but I didn't get that one finished. Wife came home from work and we left for her folks. Such a nice day here we are in the Corvette

Speaking of the Corvette, Marcus, the front wheelwell height is 27 1/2". As I sit here looking at it, she sure looks purty with the sun shining on it.

Thanks TB, 27.75" high on the front of mine and 28.75 off the ground in back on my car. I think I would leave the front alone but take 3/4 off the back..........or just leave it.

New fuel filter today and it was a GM filter that we took off. I am going to cut it open to see how bad it was. Also new belts and I ordered new tensioners today.

I know what you mean about looking purdy.....after the clay bar and carnuba wax job last year the mag red is something to behold.........

WinnDixie stores here have a deal with Shell. Buy certain items and you get money off at the pump. I usually range between 20 and 30 cents a gallon off for a 20 gallon fill. 4 to 6 bucks in my pocket I'll take it. That's like getting a free six pack. LOL
