I have seen a lot of complates about the drilled rotors. For basic street use are these worth the price to make the car look pretty. Are they depenable and safe ?

Compared to the cheapest without shipping Summit this looks like a deal
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM ... el%7cCORVETTE&prefilter=1

I know I blow a lot of money on junk and get burned. My good rotors I have on now look pretty uagly with all the rust showing through. I would install these in the future with Hawk Pads like I am currently using.

Any advice is welcome.

Have a great weekend all

Slotter are what I thought everyone mentioned were ok.

4 for $120 no shipping charge
With shipping included it seams very hard to pass up.I think I will try them on the street and If I decide to do anything else I have my old factory rotors to use for that.

Thanks

Steve - the vendor NC posted has been around a while and has good feedback.

I have also heard/seen pictures of drilled rotors cracking. BUT, with the number of people running them on the street I think it's overplayed. Either cheap rotors or abuse. The number of complaints vs number out there seems low. That being said, I just have standard OEM rotors.

As far as the rust issue, the zinc coating will help that. You can also tape off and spray the top hats of the rotors with a can of rotor paint before you install them to prevent that.

Most of my C6 buddies that are doing HPDEs five and six times or more per season are doing fine with replacement factory drilled rotors. Yup they craze a bit after a few track weekends but it hasn't been a problem. And for strictly street use you won't see a problem at all, I don't think.

I have had the cheap drilled and slotted eBay rotors on my Vette for maybe 10,000 miles now and not a sign of crazing, cracking or heat related issues.

I plan on installing a set of PowerSlot rotors or even the inexpensive NAPA replacement rotors next time around. Initial bedding is going to be the important factor.

Bill has lost of threads with a good bedding process for new rotors and pads on this board.

A little more info. I haven't found out where the link is yet.

Hello Steve,
Sounds great, I just sent you the direct checkout link for the online payment. The rotors are Kinetic brand, which is manufactured by Powerstop. They have excellent parts and I have been selling them for years with excellent feedback. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you,
Sean

Very happy camper with the new rotors. They are bedded in and the only problem is they pull a little to the left. I used my Hawk pads as they only had 8000 miles on them. It was a tight fit with the pads but it was also a tight fit with the oem rotors.

I put my old rotors up on ebay hoping to give someone a deal. It is finally funny to be Daddy Warbucks.

Thanks for posting the rotors as they were a great deal at $120 including shipping.

nice and shiny.

You may want to pull the calipers and make sure the pins are well lubed. That will cause a pull otherwise.

It doesn't work that way,Steve.

The Hawk pads either new or used still have to be bedded in correctly. You need to put an adherent layer of pad material on the new rotors.

It's possible this is why you have a pull along with what Andy said.

I probally didn't say it correctly. I beaded them in. After I lubed the pins the probled is gone.

I followed these directions .

""Then you need to do a proper bed in. this will put a new adherent layer of pad material on the discs. There are instructions on the Hawk box but I take it a bit further.
The first part is to slowly build up heat in the pads and discs. Make 3 runs from 30-40mph down to 10 mph with just light pedal pressure. Then make 2 or 3 runs with moderate pedal pressure. As you head home, make 2 very (Very) hard stops from 60-70 down to 10 mph. Don't completely stop the car on any of these runs.
Try to make the last, hard stop close to your driveway if possible. Then park the car and let the brakes return to ambient. It's also a good idea to move the car a foot every couple of minutes to move the pads to a different location on the discs (about 5 times).
You should be able to smell the brakes when you return, that lets you know you got them hot enough.

Doing this will put the correct layer on the discs and go quite a ways in preventing "green pad fade".""

Guy seemed pretty sharp.
