Good Morning CGs!

Already up, Tommy. A certain 19 month old was up at around 6 am and made sure I was up with him. He's washed and dressed, I need to make him breakfast soon. RR #1 got up about 10 minutes ago. Why is it that when my wife is with them they sleep in until 7:30 or 8:00 but with me they get up at 6:00 and 6:30? Must be because they love me more and want to spend as much time with me as they can. Only rational explanation

I think we are going to take a trip to the park today, have a picnic, and feed the ducks/geese. Should be nice.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Random rant. I was reading up on piglet training, online. The topic of interest for me was "Why does a pig nub their nose on you?" The answer was that the piglet was removed from weening too early. It looks to you as the mother and noses you attempting to feed. I looked for ways to to change this behavior. What was suggested is you push the piglet away and firmly tell the pig, No! Initially this seemed to work. Soon the piglet returned to the annoying behavior. I pushed the pig back. (Pigs establish dominance in the pack by pushing, jumpinhg on and biting the opponent. Through this the hierarchy is established). Well now the piglet thinks this is a game. She noses my ankle, I push her away and say No! and it returns for more. The pig thinks this is fun. So much for listening to the experts. Guess I'll have to coat my ankles with hot pepper sauce. A few snoots of that and maybe she won't think it's so much fun anymore.

Wow, sure glad I bought Facebook stock......anytime they are talking about a stock and they have the word debacle anywhere in the conversation...you know you are in trouble....off 20% this morning. Warren Buffet I ain't. Oh well over the long haul it should come back up....geez.

Matt sounds like a good day going to feed the ducks, sorry I can't join you. I have to go out and stand in a corn field and let the wind beat me up......geez.

If I sound a little down today, I'm not.....its just stuff that we all deal with on a daily basis. It could be a lot worse. Overall things are going well.

Gotta go Guruland have a great day doing what you do...TBee hope you are getting around better today.....you'll be back to kicking asses in no time.......

LOL
Wifey went to work. The two dogs and the cat were in the house. The cat starts flipping drawer latches at around ten to six. I fell back to sleep. Precious (dog) came in around 10 to seven put her front paws by my back on the bed. (Ruff) Two minutes later BlackJack comes in making horse noises. I look to the foot of the bed and the cat is staring at me. Alright, alright, I'll get up. They have a routine and damned if they're gonna let me change it. .... Pets ......

Howdy! Gonna be soggy here for a while - maybe halfway decent on Friday, but other than that the next several days look lousy. Figures. I remember very few really nice Memorial Day weekends over the years.

Maybe some pigskin slippers would give your pet some pause, Tommy ;-)

Have a good day, all!

Howdy Folks!

Matt, that's exactly what happens to me! I've started getting up at my usual time of 5am on the weekends just so I can have a few minutes to drink some coffee before she comes downstairs wide open!

Hope everybody has a good day!

It might be back and ahead over time.

Back in the 80's I thought about playin'. For once i did something intelligent - I decided to try it with pseudo dollars for 3-6 months.

Found out that I was really, really bad at stock pickin'.

I did good with my house though (with the proper education).

I used to like funds that mirrored the S&P 500. I bailed after climbing back to 1200 from the low 700s and transfered to government backed securities. I jumped too early. They say as you get older you should assume less risk. I need that fund to grow some, so risk is what I need to take. I'm hoping it drops back down to around 1200 so I can hop back in and not look at it for a few years. I got scared off by the previous S&P lows and didn't want to get stuck holding the bag. Although I have made around 50% profit on my investment over time, the low returns on government securities makes me want to take more risk. It would be nice to get a little extra monthly income from an amount I have targeted. The agony of thinking "what if" keeps me in relatively safe investments. Although BillH's investment strategy at the casino has been acting a lot like the stock market. Down two days, up one. The current Greek situation and state of the Euro in general can be bothersome. That's what is impacting the markets today, driving stocks south. What happens if the Euro implodes?
Stocks are a gamble but can reward over time. I have seen the impacts. Real estate is down, investment portfolios are recovering and I know many day traders that have had there asses handed to them. It's not for the weak of heart. I always hear to invest in products you know and love. Like I said, not being a risk taker I like it spread out over the top 500. Even that's a gamble.

I'd be happy with down 2 up 1 right now.

I have a Large Cap Equity fund that's recovered nicely so far from a few years ago.

Good morning guys...I had a pretty good night. Two pain pills at 10pm and I was able to sleep until 4 (had to pee) took one more pill and was able to sleep until 7:30. The swelling is going down and flexibility is beginning to come back. I've done my exercises and n ow sit here icing that bad boy.

I did get the mechanic to call me about the Corvette yesterday. The steering rack is leaking, and the pump is seeping. I'm thinking "lets get it all fixed while we are at it". I guess we'll see what he comes up with. I pointed him in the direction of Zip Corvette for a rebuilt rack or Turn One for rebuilding my existing one. Really leaning toward having mine rebuilt....Costs more and takes longer, but it will be the rack that came in the car originally. What do you guys think?

The less expensive way. I don't believe originality in this case is all that important. But if it's important to you, that's all that matters. Your the boss.

I just scraped the old paint off the trim on one side of the house. Still have to give it a quick power sand.

No fun going up a step ladder with a screwed up knee.

I'm thinkin' one side of the house per day.

Well, I went ahead with the rebuilt rack. Should be there early next week. They will get the thing fixed. New pump and rack, flush the system (obviously), labor and alignment $1200. I didn't think that sounded out of line.

As for the swelling that WAS my knee I was talking about....

Currently, a gentle rain mists the majestic palms and foliage that lies a short walk from my front door. A subtle grey sky subdues my afternoon activities as I querry what I might do in it's stead. The thought of placing my head on a fluffed down pillow presents an option. Perhaps perusing a mound of accumulated magazines or maybe just gaze in a daze for days .......... gaze in a daze for days ......

Crap, I just discovered some hail damage on my Maxima from Saturday night's storm. Got another storm on the way tonight, but no mention of hail. Strong enough winds in one part of the state to blow out car windows, though. Fun, fun, fun.

Evening guys, it's been a tougher day here for me, maybe I overdid it yesterday. It has been achy all day. One of the other teachers had a get together this evening, so we went over for a while. Came home early.

Marcus, I've got about 84k. Too soon for it to be leaking, but what do you do? Normally I'd try to do some of that myself, not this time.

Kids drove me absolutely nuts today. Seems like everyone else had a full plate. Now I'm "relaxing" by spending several hours fixing the neighbor's f'd up hard drive. Seriously...they break more computers than anyone I know!

Marcus, I've had a slight leak since very early on, maybe as long as I've had it. I always thought that it was an oil leak but could not find any leak anywhere and never had to add any fluids. Well this should fix it.
