Good morning gang.

Warm here this am 70 out. Yes it is humid again and temps are going to be in the mid to high 80's.

Word of the Day Thursday, August 08, 2013

waif\ weyf \, noun;

1. a person, especially a child, who has no home or friends.

2. something found, especially a stray animal, whose owner is not known.

3. a stray item or article: to gather waifs of gossip .

4. Nautical. waft.

Origin:

Waif likely finds its roots in the Old Norse veif meaning "waving thing" or "flag."

Morning guys...we had a niiiiice rain last night. Came down nice and easy for over two hours, almost an inch. Supposed to continue today. Highs in the 70's.

I have some work to do today. I am working on some doors at the county courthouse. Two doors have large glass panels, they want the glass removed and oak panel put in their place. The kicker is, on one door, I have to have it done in one day, so I have to be there early to remove the one door, door the modifications and have it installed by the end of the work day. I did most of the prelim stuff Tuesday and yesterday, stain matching and finishing the panels. Today should be a brease to remove the glass and replace the oak panel, but you know how things normally go. so I'm not chancing anything.

Got to get around. I'll check in later.

Howdy!

I made an executive decision this morning and pulled the topless Vette out - I figure a 30% chance of rain means a 70% chance of no rain. If it sat any longer I'd probably need to throw the battery tender on it.

Good luck on your project, Tom!

Have a good day, Gurus!

Doing some work for the courthouse should get you some points Tom, if ever you are caught drag racing your Corvette around town.....you never know....

cloudy here and looks like rain....working in office this week. It's down to a few more weeks of scouting left and it seems this year its been harder than most but that's just my age I'm thinking....I'm letting the help do more and me do less which is the way it must go...

I sat and thought last night of the Corvettes I've had and wrote down the engines. I don't know why? Anyway I've enjoyed these.....L75, L75, L79, LS5, L48, L83, L98, L98, LS1, LS3. No LT engines so that means I have to get a C7....to round out the list.....My favorites are the LS3 and LS1 and also the LS5 big block was fun.

Better get after it.....enjoy your day Guru's...

Weather's just about perfect.

So, today's dedicated to.......DNBFS.

I'm headed in to town, 3 guys I know are judging Hot August Night's cars. Going to talk to a guy about straightening the 67 frame.

CorvetteBob's hitting town at lunchtime.

Probably hit the Vomit Jackson auction tomorrow.

Good mornin' all. Crappy weather here all week. It might clear up a bit this weekend but I'm not counting on it.

Nothing special happening today either, just workin' for the man.

Well, I've got one done. The trim holding the window in came out reasonably easy, window came out in one piece and the new panel slid in. Cut the trim down (to adjust for the difference in panel thickness), refit the trim, a little silicon to keep the panel from rattling and I even touched up some scuff marks on the door, partly so my new panel doesn't look too out of place. Waiting for the finish to dry and I'll return it and maybe grab the other one......

Good Morning CGs!

Folks made it in last night safely. I cooked some tacos for dinner and they took the kids to the park. I readjusted the brake switch again to get it right and installed the tcc override switch. Works awesome now, should have done it a long time ago.

Taking the kids to the zoo now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Truck runs great and is out working as we speak....I can easily get back what I put in it...older pickups are gold out here....hmmm...maybe we will get some spray cans and paint it also....

Made my delivery and got back. Had to work on the gate at the nursery. Needed some adjustments. Back home now. The house I delivered to in Key Largo is built beside a man made cut between the Gulf and the ocean. He had a dock built into the limestone rock that lines the cut. He can now dock 3 good sized boats with davits. The contractor told hime he could do it for 50k. When all is finished the bill will be more like 100k. It is a really, really nice concrete dock. Wifey and crew are cleaning up the property, spreading fill, planting trees and other plants. Also building a small rock wall. Starting on my new list today. Out with the old list and in with the new. First thing to do is write my new list. I told the secretary to make me a list of things that need attention at the nursery. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. .... Might have to knock off a nap first.

While many do not do this, it is good golf etiquette to fix your davits.

For you landlubbers, a davit is a hoist used to lift a boat out of the water. Most boats require 2. You can see the boats hanging from them in the clip above.

Brad, what you probably need most on the course is a rake.
