I know. Stupid. My parents were the ones who convinced me to do it. I work at a Wells Fargo. The bank RIGHT ACROSS the street from us got robbed. Our personal bank by our house was robbed three times. Never caught anyone.......Shots were fired.

So, my parents tell me to get a Level II bulletproof vest. I did and it's well built by point blank with soft trauma plate.

Our bank is installing bulletproof glass around us......Second, if we get robbed, they can take the whole vault full of cash because it's not mine...My life is to important.

It fits great and is completely concealable. When the air is on, it feels amazing but during summer, I was sweating beads.

Is it safe to say, I want to sell it because the bulletproof glass is similar to a level III. It's thick and our door is sealed from the outside......

I feel dumb now for doing it. It will stop a 357 but really, it's like major paranoia and I am not going to be a hero for the bank. We are trained to cooperate fully and I have a secret silent alarm as well as others.

I posted it on ebay to see if I could get rid of it. Im ashamed to say I bought it now that I think about it.

Live and learn I suppose. BTW, working at a bank ROCKS!!!

You're certainly not stupid for buying the vest. You "might" be a victim of bad timing. Depending on your situation, you might be able to donate it to the city and take a deduction, or donate it to the local FOP and be all the cops best buddy if you get pulled over.

In a bank robbery, or any robbery for that matter, you can do all the right things, and still get shot...

in a higher risk world, a vest is not stupid, it is not paranoid, especially if you area is experiencing a high occurrence of such crimes.

Not that it matters if you are selling it but they make special 'shirts' that you can wear underneath those things that help provide a small bit of ventilation to help. The shirt has ribs up and down the length and are spaced an inch or so apart and they're about the size of your finger. My ex (police chief) used to HATE wearing his vest, said the shirts don't fix the problem but did make it bearable somewhat. You can get one through most any police supply store.
And no, do not feel stupid for buying it - we listen to our guts for a reason - it's called intuition...

HEY, YOU DID THE RIGHT THING! MAKE YOUR PARENTS HAPPY. YOU TOLD THEM YOU BOUGHT IT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO TALK ABOUT WEARING IT.

VETTEBLONDIE: YOU BEEN IN JONESBORO LONG? I USED TO GO UP THERE BACK IN THE NEW STONE AGE WHEN I WORKED FOR THE VA IN LR. ASU WAS ALWAYS MY FAVORITE SCHOOL TO DEAL WITH; THEY ALWAYS HAD IT TOGETHER.

I've worked here for 20 years, only lived here for around 8... I grew up in the next town over - Trumann. Lived a short time the other direction - Newport area also. Went to ASU for a year or so...
