took the car for an alignment last Sunday but they couldn't get the car up the ramp.they were willing to try, but it was scraping the front spoiler almost right away and they didn't want to risk it. the last time they used some wooden blocks, but the crew there didn't know about them and i couldn't remember how they did it. any info on size or shape of the wood so i can bring it with me next time?

thanks!

I would bring some 2x12s if you have them...you can bring some varying lengths ie 12", 24:, etc.

Honestly, if that shop couldn't even get my car on the ramp....I think I would be looking for another shop.

I had the same issue recently. I do a lot more scraping in my daily driving than I would crawling up a silly alignment ramp. Nonetheless, the techs don't want to risk the liability of damaging your ride.

Anyway, I did a google search and found a local alignment shop that specializes in "race vehicles." They had an extended low-profile ramp. Also, there are some alignment machines that are installed in a pit, so no ramp involved.

Well if you have a lifetime warranty do it. I told my buddy who does alignments and he laughed at their stupidity. He has a long ramp (metal) for cars like ours and said Cadillacs scrape really bad, too. He said he also has wooden blocks available for the other alignment racks.

I don't know how high the ramp is for their alignment rack. Maybe you can get away with one 2x12 of a longer length or you might have to stack a couple together.

Most alignment racks have hinged ramps which males this easy to do. We do the same thing every time we load ANY race car into the trailer.

First, you need to raise the airdam by driving on to the 2 x 8. Second you need to decrease the angle of the ramps.

You put the 2 x 8's (2 x 10's or 2 x 12's if you can't steer straight) under the front edge of the ramp. This decreases the ramp angle. It may take 2 - 2 x 8's stacked on top of each other.

If you do some of your own work at home, you should have a set of these anyway so you can jack the front end up using the crossmember.

A piece of plywood under the 2 x 8 holds the 2 x 8 in place while you drive up on them.

Pic 1 - Mine
Pic 2 - Shows how the ramps decrease the ramp angle. We use
these Race ramps with the Formula Atlantic that has
a ground clearance of 25mm.

Possibly, if your air dam doesn't hit them. And the kick ups are designed to stop the tires from rolling off, you could fix that with a 2 x 6 or 8 cut at 45 degrees on the ramp end that will take up the space.

May be long enough , may not. If you can drive up on them with your lowered car, they will work.
