Pics:
1. Shows all the parts, the column, hub and turn signal switch housing were glass beaded then painted factory (2 different colors of black.

2. The lower bearing - goofy stepped design, only used on the first 9,000 or so cars. The 2 bearings were $95 but those and one C-clip were all I had to buy. The plastic turn signal components were in extremely good condition.

3 & 4, A pile of those blue wire splices that bubba had used to crap up the harness (didn't know how to run the wires correctly). Soldered & heat shrinked.

5. Lower bearing & retainers.

6. Finished

nice.....so is it time to install it in the car? hope so......boggles the mind when you think of all the small pieces that must function together to make the whole thing work........and these were relatively simple cars compared to the new ones.......

Unfortunately, no.

There's a boatload to do first.
I'm having a real problem deciding what to do with the wiper motor, it's a cosmetic restoration and to do the cad plating the motor brushes plate has to come out, it's in there with small copper revits and I can't source them.
But the resto costs $275.

The wiper motor has to go in before the heater box, almost impossible to get the wiper bolts in with the heater there.

Then, the radio speaker goes in, then the heater then the instrument panel and only then the steering column.

And that's after I find the damn missing steering column support bracket.

Thanks Joel,

Yea, it's the original, in mint condition. The cleanup on it was less than 10 minutes.

Wish it was a teak wheel but those are going for $1,000 in so-so condition.
