MATT THAT PUTIN JOKE WAS FUNNY. DON'T KNOW QUITE WHAT TO THINK OF THAT GUY; HE IS A RUSSIAN PATRIOT FOR SURE, AND THAT HAS SOME DISQUIETING ECHOS FROM HISTORY.

Morning guys....I must have been really tired as I went to bed at 10:30 last night and didn't wake until almost 9. I've seen those jokes before, funny.

It's still colder than a witches t!t in a brass bra, low was -2, but we are headed to about freezing today, then upper 30s tomorrow and 61 for Monday.

We get to go watch #3 GS play b-ball at noon, so not too big a hurry to go out to the shop. All we got done yesterday was facing out the edges of the plywood. Then I had a call to go work on a computer. I thought it would take me about an hour, but I ended up there for 3 1/2. They had it screwed up pretty good. I had to call tech support about the software twice and the guy was either, 1 not listening to me or 2 didn't understand what I was saying. He talked in circles and didn't make a lot of sense. After my calls, the local guys said, "I'm glad you were here, I don't feel so bad, because that's the way I felt after talking to them. That's why we called you." I did finally get things, sort of, going for them. And now we are just waiting for the guy we talked to on the phone to send us links to download the newest version of the software.

Hidey-ho! I made a valiant attempt to sleep right through winter, but failed. It is actually on the plus side of 0 right now, and should make it all the way up to 7 today. Wheeeee!

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Damn, damn, damn

I've never in my life heard of the local government announcing road closures 2 days prior to a weather event but, they are.

May be 'the storm of the century" Sunday nite thru Monday morning.
Predictions are for 4 inches of rain down here and as much as 12 inches over on the mountain. Between that and what it melts in the snow pack, we're in deep shit.

Predictions for the industrial area in Reno beside the Truckee river are 7 feet of water in the buildings.

And my F''in' roof's leaking.

IIRC, Bills' roof is tin, I could be wrong.

It has warmed here to above freezing, 34 right now. Feels like a heat wave. and the roads are getting slushy. Should be fun once it freezes again tonight and early morning.

There's always beer, the generator's sitting in the downstairs living room beside a table saw, a band saw a '72 Yamaha and a bar covered with Corvette parts. The generator's not fueled but there's 5 gal. in the shop.

Tin don't work on top of shingles/tile and it's kinda hard to nail thru 3/4 in. thick concrete roof tile.

So, to get to the leaks I'd have to pull up about 20 roof cap tiles then, pull up 50 to 60 big concrete tiles, then goop but that goop won't hold long or pull the 1x2 batons that the tile gets nailed to pull up the tarpaper then, flash and goop everything correctly.
Not a job to do in a 30mph wind and heavy rain.

There's at least 15 places to pick up sandbags.
