Not quite... I was like that a few times... the first time I remember being that ramped up, I was 9 YO... and I was going to ride to FL with my brother Paul and his wife and daughter, for my first solo visit!

I remember getting up at about 0500, thinking they had left without me - over slept was my fear.

I panicked, got dressed, looked out the window and it was still dark! I went back to sleep for the next 3 hours or so. I don't remember exactly when we did hit the road, tho. Whenever, it was a great trip and visit!

I even got to fly back by myself!! That was a bit unnerving. You see, I was flying into PHL. The oil refinery at Marcus Hook, PA, had caught fire and closed the airport - thick black smoke everywhere. Well, they had finally gotten the fire out about 2 days before my flight. The problem? Risk of new fires! If it lit off again, all flights were being diverted to Newark... and then the passengers were being put on buses for Philly!

The refinery stayed quiet and I flew home, Eastern Airlines, with little drama.

UPDATE:

The car was picked up on Monday at the dealership.

The trucking firm was supposed to call me Tuesday. It is now Thursday morning, and nothing. I just reached out to the dealer to ask him to either forward me the info and let me rattle cages...

I will update as soon as I hear something.

That's actually more common than you think. Some carriers bring the cars to a centralized yard to be reloaded on other trailers and continue on to destination. It's that or the driver drove under a low overhang and sheared the roof clean off at the hoodline. We'll see.

It's a nice car... more than fast enough... very well put together.

Sure, the C7 is nice, and fast and faster! But for street/daily driving? I can get more car, but the money gets iffy... I would spend 3 times what I spent on that car to get a new C7. Does that make sense?

This car drives new... maybe because it is? But it is a delight. I am very happy with it!

He gave up on them soon after that pic was taken. He had salvaged them out of Caitlin's Honda, but said they didn't sound that great. But I think he yanked them from all the crap Phil and I gave him.

I think there is more room in the C6's........The C7's I have sat in all seemed tight to me with the console being very wide. The C5 has the most interior room with the C6 a bit smaller.....

Marcus - You are 100% right. I find the C6 much more roomier than the C7. The C5 is huge, too.

But after 17 years and 180k miles, I got more than comfortable in the C4. Then again, it started to fit to me... ya know?

But I am just thrilled with the new ride. Everyone who sees it reacts very positively.

It drives great!!! Runs strong and just works. Rides excellent, too... and no rattles over every little bump.

I can appreciate what you are saying.

Evolution is one thing... and the C6 had the benefit of lessons learned with the C5 and racing.

The C7 is a fabulous car... But for the money, the C6 is a killer deal. I would have to have spent 3x the money to get a new C7, and for basic daily driving, the C7 isn't that much better.

Congratulations on the new C6 Andy.. Yellow is my favorite.. I got a C6 last year and they are great cars, I still have my C4 but it's sitting in the garage with a blown head gasket that I have to replace..Now your going to have to get a "Tech 2 scanner" to have any hope of working on the car yourself, they're not like our old C4s. One thing I will mention about the C6s, always use "Top Tier" gas in the car, never burn "off brand" gas or it will cause the fuel sending units to go bad. The off brand gas doesn't have the needed cleaners and additives to keep the sender clean, GM highly recommends using only "Top Tier" gas for this reason..Good Luck with the car and I hope you have many years of fun with it...WW

My fuel gauge began acting up at around 23,000 miles on the car. Tried all the additives to see if it would clean it up but it did not. I had taken the car in and documented the problem before the end of warranty which was smart as it turned out.

They have to drop the passenger side fuel tank out to pull the sensor and sending unit. On an automatic car they have to drop the whole rear end assembly out.........yeah I know, right?

On the 6M cars there is room to slip the tank out because the tranny is a lot skinnier. Took mine to the dealership and they did the work under warranty. cost me 100 dollars. Probably would have been in the 2 to 3 thousand range.........been working like a charm ever since..... the car has 57,000 on it now.

I use Shell V Power Premium as much as I can........

I have an OBDII scanner, but do want a Tech II.

I always burn top tier. Makes sense, really. And it isn't that much more expensive.

I know the tanks are a bitch... and that with the automatics, the rear has to come out. Yuck. That sounds so labour intensive!!!!
