Hidey-ho! Drove the Vette today - I dropped off the truck last night to have a noisy idler pulley fixed, and to have them check it over before the warranty expires. Looks like we will have a nice stretch of weather for a while. Meanwhile, the Twinkies are back on top, a nice surprise.

Glad to see that Tommy has settled back into reality ;-)

Have a great day, Gurus!

I'm up early as I am going over to the 'city' with #3 GSs' 6th grade class, as they do a project each year for their math teacher.A practical math project where they have to do "home improvements". They have to figure floor covering, paint, cabinets, etc. I'm doing the deck. We meet at Home Depot and they are really good at helping out with this project, along with parents...grandparents and other volunteers. I've done it with the other two GSs, so it's only right that I do it with this one. It's, kind of, fun.

The sun is shining, but cool right now. Supposed to warm a bit today. We got another .6 rain yesterday.

Well, I better get going. You folks have a great day.

THE SUN IS SHINING ON THE CHEROKEES THIS MORNING AND IT'S COOL AND BREEZY. FOR ALL THE GLOOM YESTERDAY THE ONLY RAIN WAS JUST ENOUGH TO SETTLE THE DUST.

Never a dull day. Mowing one of the nurseries a solid object got jammed in the drive pulley and threw the belt. I cleared the obstruction and put the belt back on. Now it keeps throwing the belt. Got a golf cart from the main nursery and towed the mower back and put it under cover. It's the drive belt and looks to be a major pain in the ass to replace. There is another spring activated pulley that may be contributing to the problem as it is now wobbling like crazy. I'm calling it a day. Going to mother's day/birthday combo dinner at 06:30 at Longhorn. Steak is a good distraction. Think I'll squeeze in a nap.

We are getting more rain here - like we need any. Flooding and evacuations continue. Our town is fine but others within minutes of us aren't and have lost everything, even their homes and businesses. Been a slow day at the office today, it's either one extreme or the other. We have planned to not work any at home this weekend and wanted to take a trip to a nearby lake and vegetate but with the flooding that's out so we're still searching for something to do. I have a ton to do around the house but we want to rest one whole weekend. Have a happy one y'all

Back from the Home Depot project. First impressions; these kids were really pretty sharp. And not to sound like a biased grandpa, but my GS really impressed me. I've never really been around him in a school type setting. He picked up on things quickly and understood the math required to figure out the materials and costs. Talking to one of the teachers after we got back, she said, on the way home the kids were saying that my portion was the longest, but it was the one where they learned the most. Made me feel good.

Pretty tired now. I've been told teebee stands for "tired butt", I don't think that is the same thing as dormant butt.

Turned out to be a beautiful day here. Forecast for the next week looks pretty good too, 70s and low 80s with little to no chance for rain. That will give things here a chance to dry out just a little. Never complain about moisture, but we could allow things to dry a little.
